...or a pediatrician giving your kid amoxicillin for a cold. The so-called 'superbugs' that plague hospitals are directly the result of human stupidity.
Wash hands often and KEEP YOUR FINGERS OUT OF YOUR EYES, NOSE AND MOUTH. Your hands can be covered with Noro, it still has to get IN your body. By the way, change doctor. That waiting room is going to be one nasty petri dish.

The short answer is no. These stays are measured in hours not days. Those ports don't want you standing in line for a passport stamp instead of spending your money in one of their shops.

As I stated, you have to be very pro active. Pick you cruise for NEXT season or even two years away. On a weekly basis you then have to check to see when they open for reservations.

No magic answer. If it's just the day before, Long Beach itself. Number of the named hotels on Ocean Bl. Plenty to do and local restaurants in that area.

Accessible cabins require a larger foot print. As a result they cut into the profit margin of the ship overall. If they want to be ADA compliant, they must have X number of cabins be accessible. Because of the way ships are built, accessible cabins are planned long before any construction begins. Next to impossible to retrofit cabins since actual structural changes to the ship would be required. For our upcoming cruise, I booked 18 months in advance to be sure of getting the cabin we need.

Just wondering if people leave things like unused travel shampoo and dish soap, etc behind for the cabin steward?
A little confused by your wording. Steward clears cabin of everything, be trash or recyclable. They have no need to use your leftovers. They assume if you left something, you meant to throw it away

Because of the possible narcotic, that should be in original bottle.
However worse case scenario, you want medical aide to know exactly what and how much medication he is on.

One more useless bit of knowledge, voltage is 110 NOT 120. About the only thing you should not use, simple plug in analog alarm clock. designed to use 120. That 10 volt difference causes clock to run slow about 5 minutes a day.

The Noro is one of the tougher bugs to kill. 15 minutes of wet alcohol or 5 minutes wet bleach is the norm. There are bottles of stuff out there that will do the job, no idea what chemical they use or effect on skin over long time use?

As others have stated, this was a come on from a third party. Your phone call to princess got the answer for what is SUPPOSED to happen.

As I recall, there is a 220--240 outlet in the bathroom. HOWEVER right on the outlet is a label stating it is intended for very low amperage devices like electric shavers. I can almost guarantee security would take claim of it if spotted on X-ray.

Found this info buried on the Princess website:

3011 Miner Street

(Berth 54/55 is at the corner of 22nd Street and Miner, San Pedro, CA 90731) -
My concern would be if medical dept got involved at all. Since they have no equipment or dental knowledge, i would be concerned doctor would not want any responsibility and kick me off ship throwing the medical card.

Just an idea, contact Princess and see if ship's officers/hotel staff can assist.

If, as you say, a constant "sale", you have never seen what the "regular" price is. Cruise prices are no different than any item, be it a car or a fresh turkey. As a new model is coming out or the sell by date approaches, the price drops on in store stock.
Because of the need of a specific type of cabin, I booked over 18 months in advance. That far out price is MSRP and not effected by supply and demand. I kept an eye on the prices which climbed and fell, under $100, over the next year. About 8 months out, small price drop AND $2000 OBC. Called and was re=booked at lower price. Couple of months later, another price drop but no OBC offer. So evidently the cruise is nor selling, last month another price drop and another re-booking. This one saved us $1400 and we have another two weeks before final payment. In 13 days another call in the oft chance of another drop.

If you arrive earlier they will process you through along with other non preferred passengers.
Remember all the previous pax will have had to have left the ship, there have been on issues with customs and the captain has approved embarkation. We once had to wait two hours because previous cruise disembarkation count was off by ONE. Entire ship had to be searched before next cruise embarkation.

If your looking for someone else to pay, the question is who. Princess gets luggage off the ship, contracted workers (Longshoremen) once the bag hits land. Princess MIGHT do a fix for PR, but legally they don't have to since you have no proof they did the damage. If the out of pocket is to high just to fix yourself, use YOUR insurance.

Long Beach may have a berth 46, but OP mentioned San Pedro. We join our next cruise at the Outer Harbour/Berth 46 in San Pedro and that berth is down by the breakwater at the end of Miner Street. It is on the same side of the harbour as World Cruise Centre and is about a 2.5 mile drive.
Only cruise docks across the Bridge that I am aware of is the Carnival dock next to the Queen Mary.
The San Pedro Outer Harbour/Berth #46 is used by other cruise lines, when WCC is full.
..
Using Google Earth I located pier 46. Using your directions I found this, yellow tack at top is cruise center, pier 46? is tack at bottom. I sit corrected..

I have a basic question: What comes with the medallion? Do you get a lanyard or wrist band or clip, or do you have to purchase those things?
Silicone wrist band, but your invited to buy a variety of tacky holders

Street crime is every where. There is no one answer to it and "you" will not stop it. Around the world or at your local market, the only thing you can do is DON'T LOOK LIKE A VICTIM. Walk with your head up and keep looking around. If possible, never be on your own, the more in your party the better. Women, purse straps cross body, purse on the side of your friend. Men, wallet in your FRONT pants pocket. Don't flash cash or use designer shopping bags. As one guy says to another man as they race through a forest with a bear on their heels, "I'm not trying to out run the bear, I'm trying to out run you". Make the bad guy pass over you and pick on someone else.

That area of the docks is closed to the public. Security would not allow foot traffic out to the public street. Between 46 and the cruise center is the Vincent Thomas Bridge. About 1/3 mile long with NO PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC ALLOWED. The arriving pax usually pass through customs that is located on the second floor of the cruise center. Looks like your should be prepared for some walking. The issue I see is the luggage. As a rule, the first group of pax are not released until their luggage is staged. Thinking entire process may be delayed over an hour.

I read in Mike and Tracey's trip report that they got upgraded and did not find out about it until they got to the port. Is there a way to make sure we do not get upgraded?
When you book, that question is usually asked and your booking is marked. Don't know about others, but I check on my future cruises at least every other week.

Two days after we booked our first cruise, I found these boards. Read for three weeks before we went to pick up tickets. Within minutes I realized I knew more than the TA.
Been on these boards 17 years, 15 minutes ago I learned something new...
Do you agree that the food quality in the buffet is tasteless and is poor quality?

A ship buffet is nothing more than a cafeteria on water. Dish has to be able to survive on the line 20+ minutes under heated conditions and be inexpensive. As a result they are usually high fat and salt. Before you choose, answer the question, should that dish be in a steam table.
