  1. Convoluted question, but I assume someone here has experience

I know this is a somewhat common thing, but have no clue how it really works in regard to S&S accounts:

DW and I are booked in a few weeks with another couple. His wife and I drink plenty, but DW and he do not at all. I've heard of folks switching cabins for check in and to buy the package as a workaround to the "every adult in the cabin must buy it". (It was actually suggested to me by a PVP, but he couldn't explain it to my level of satisfaction).

I can understand that She and I would share a cabin and DW and Him would, but after His wife and I buy Cheers, wouldn't our S&S accounts have to both be in the same cabin. Is it as simple as going to guest services after the fact and switching rooms?

Disclaimer am NOT talking about "sharing amongst four people" (as I'm sure some will believe). DW is a teetotaler and He is a recovering alcoholic who hasn't touched a drop in just over four years.

    TIA for any viable responses

  2. How about 5 day cruises? Is it morning pickup then?

My theory (and it's only a SWAG) is that they'll do a comparison on amounts of gift shop liquor sold and bar business done before and after the delivery policy change, and then in a few months we'll see it delivered on shorter ones as well.

It's obvious that sales are down quite a bit, so now if the bar business done the last evening doesn't change too much, I think they'll deliver on the shorter ones too. If the business done at bars on the last evening takes a significant hit, then they may well go back to pickup on the longer ones as well.

    Just my .02 worth

  3. Belize for me.....Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley (the pics didn't turn out as well as they should have because some jackwagon forgot to put the camera in underwater mode......it could have been me :o )

Here are a handful from that trip:

And rather than 50+ people that were on the ship excursions, we had four

  5. We did Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan....was by FAR the best snorkeling excursion we've done

You can book it using all kids of sites, though I did it through shoreecursioneer

Lemme see if I can find some pics (that honestly don't do it any justice because someone forgot to set the camera to underwater mode).

  6. Try Peat Taylor's tours you won't be disappointed.

    Completely agree with this.

Last time we were in Jamaica we did DRF and Blue hole. We had a van for the four of us and got back about 45 minutes prior to when we had to board the ship.

Independent tour operators may be a bit more risky if you're worried about missing the ship, but that's how these folks make a living. They're not going to risk having parties miss the ship as all it would take is a few reviews of that happening and they would be out of business.

  7. Yes they do and be prepared for the strong smell of greasy burgers on the lido deck. At times, it was very nauseating.

I'm of the same opinion. Before I ordered one, I recall thinking, "This joint smells like the back of a McDonalds drive through, but if these things are as good as everyone on critic says, I gotta get me one."

For the life of me can't see why people like them. I tried one and thought it was one of the worst burgers I had ever eaten, but figured maybe it was just a bad day for whoever was on the grill and after two bites left it. Tried again the next day thinking that this time it would be the magical experience everyone else seems to have and was disappointed again. I didn't make it past one bite (it isn't like it was going to get any better). I felt bad for having wasted two burgers, but I just couldn't do it.

I'm quite aware that they're immensely popular and that we all have different tastes, I just can't fathom why anyone would care for these and am shocked they're as popular as they are.

  8. Last time we were there we did the Falls and Blue Hole with Peat Taylor.....highly recommend it.

Yes it was a bit of a drive, but we were back in plenty of time (roughly an hour or so prior to departure if I recollect correctly). I know we stopped at two separate places to grab a drink on the way back, so we weren't really pressed for time.

  9. If one wanted, they could use a thing called cruise fish (delete the space and add a .net)

They'll monitor the parameters you set. It costs you something like $1 per cruise you set an alert for. It's saved me a few hundred bucks. I'm still waiting on a price drop for the three upcoming ones though :(
