  1. My Mrs and I just left that very room a couple of weeks ago. Don't have too many pictures, but here are a few:

As for noise, there was a Tejano radio station that seemed to have the lounge/comedy club below us in use quite often during the day and occasionally you could hear the bass, but I never heard a thing at night. When it rained, the balcony did seem to collect a little water right in front of the door, but that wasn't a big deal to me. We did put an extra bath mat by the door to keep from tracking in water though.

The balcony is huge (the one picture is from the doorway and really only shows about half of the balcony)/ There are two loungers, two tables, and four regular chairs.

It LOOKS like folks can see straight onto your balcony since it's not covered, but during a cabin crawl we noticed that was not really the case. If someone from above wanted to see what you were doing they would have to stretch out pretty good to have a good view, and if they're doing that, heck with it, let them watch. (I'm not saying we did anything on the balcony and I'm not saying we didn't....just that it could certainly be an option)

I would certainly book this one again. If you have any other questions, lemme know.

  2. I'm surprised no one's commented on the potential big issue here, that this also now gives them a way to enforce the stricter Texas laws on the amount of liquor you can bring in. Per federal government, you can only bring in one liter per person duty free, and pay duty tax on the rest (should they choose to, of course), but in Texas it's one liter PERIOD. You can't just pay the extra taxes to bring more home.

I believe texas allows one GALLON per person, not one liter. A couple can still very likely get away with two 3-liter bottles with no issue (other than the extra $11 charge).

  3. For the Mrs and I on the Triumph 1/14 I would have to say it wasn't worth it, but as a caveat I don't believe it worked as it was supposed to.

We did get on board early (about 1130) but when we got to the stateroom it wasn't ready. I said to heck with it and dropped the carry on bags off anyway (on the balcony figuring they wouldn't be in the way there) and we went to the buffet. After we ate we went back to the room and it still wasn't ready.

I went to guest services and asked if it was supposed to be ready or if I misinterpreted and was told, "It should be ready soon, you'll just have to wait." I told the young lady at the desk that, "It's not that big of a deal, I just wondered if I was mistaken in what it was supposed to be. I already dropped the carry on bags off, so I'm not gonna raise a big stink or anything". She apparently didn't like my comment (and I'm honestly not sure, I was being polite) and told me again, "You'll just have to wait". I figured she must be having a bad day so I let it be.

Our room ended up being ready about 1245 and our checked bags showed up about 1530.

We were off of the ship and in the car right at 0900 when we got back though using the self assist right behind the diamond and platinum folks, so that was nice.

Sorry for the long answer, but I don't know that we'll be using it again.
