My husband receives a yearly discounted cruise through Stations Casino.  He is required to sign in through the Corporate Affliates Login to see which cruises are available to him.  Which we have done in years past. I did that and chose a few to consider.  When I clicked on the Fare Summary there is a box. at the bottom to click on that says View applied promos.  When I click on that I get a page of Special Offers.  I then questioned whether those were included in the price or available as an add on and if it is an add on what price that would be.  I used the chat feature and they couldn't help and told me to call the casino number.  I called the casino number and I spoke with three different people that could not answer my question.  I spoke with a CVP that could not answer my question.  I called Stations Casino and left a message last week for a call back and still have not heard from them.  It is so frustrating that no one at Princess can answer what I thought was a simple question.  Anyone out there know the answer?

I book offers through the Princess Players club and there is a similar screen for what is included in my bookings.  Before I book online I select the cruise and the cabin I want and at the payment screen I have the option to put it on hold.  I then get a booking number and can see all the details of my booking including my Free Play and Princess Plus.
The booking drops off at midnight so if there are issues I know immediately.  If correct I have the option to go to the payment screen and complete the booking.

YMMV but this method works for me.

  2. Read on another site that it was passengers who had the Plus package who were causing most of the drama.  Very easy to find out what the packages include it’s in the Personalizer and also the app under Packages.

Staff know as soon as they scan their medallion which package they have but unfortunately some passengers don’t read and don’t listen.

I suppose it depends how much you wish to believe Carmen Roig who is VP Marketing (or similar title).  I imagine we all will believe it when see it as it might be delayed.  Who knows?  And as I mentioned somewhere before, nothing was said as to anyone can order after August 1 (such as for a mid- to late-August voyage, or whether for new bookings after that date, etc.  One would think/hope that anyone can order after the launch date.  I'd look for a formal announcement since it is a good news item.  Maybe they will email all Captain's Circle Members living in Canada.

Not optimistic for September but maybe by late October it will be available, just have to wait and see I guess.  Glad I’m not cruising the beginning of August though.

  4. I am cruising out of Vancouver in September and if its possible to have my medallion shipped to me after last year's boarding fiasco I'm all over it.  The way I read it is if you are green and already have your medallion you can skip check in altogether and go straight onboard.

Someone on another site was claiming it was going to cost $150 to have it shipped to Canada lol if you don't have Plus or Premium.

Thanks Sproket! Worked for me the way you suggested.

Awesome!  But I admit I drop by the Crown Grill or Sabatini's a day or two before and confirm they have the correct day and time especially if its a special occasion.  They no longer send the little cards with the details of the reservation so I like to make sure there are no issues.

    Enjoy!!!

I must say the Princess app sucks. I wish they’d let me book everything from my browser (looking at you dining reservations). I thought the Celebrity app was bad, but the Princess app makes that one look good as it is simply dreadful pre-cruise.  Glitchy, slow, difficult to sign into - I have four Princess cruises booked (two back to back), and it makes me want to cancel. I won’t, but the app is frustrating, to say the least.

    • You can just select your cruise and scroll down until you see this

  7. Have you checked to see if your app has an update?  If not delete it then try reinstalling that works for most bugs, and if not below is another option.

For one of my cruises I had to make them on the desktop.  Log in and select your cruise then scroll down until you see this (Try our web version)  and the option to make reservations was in there for me.

I use my phone for the Patter and I also have books on it. We never take our laptops when cruising (although we do take them on our long camping trips). We each take a phone and a tablet. On long flights I can watch movies I've loaded onto my phone and tablet and I also make sure both devices have a number of (the same) books loaded. When we head to the theater 20 or 30 minutes before a show so we can get a decent seat I take a drink and my phone so I can sit and read while waiting. It's much easier to carry around that the tablet which I generally leave in the cabin. (If I want to watch something "short" I do have all 156 episodes of the original Twilight Zone on both devices. 😉)

Wow I'm old enough to remember a lot of the original episodes.

  9. On a few cruises I have requested a mattress topper from my cabin steward and it’s worth it to me to tip extra for that.

Recent cruises we have either stayed at the front or the aft and tip extra for room service, drinks etc these cabins are the furthest away from the bars, kitchen etc.  Absolutely worth the $2 or so extra I tip to have someone deliver my orders especially morning coffees.

Its an individual choice and I’ve been told I was virtue signaling by posting that we tip extra but to me it’s no different than a land based restaurant we tip above the norm if we feel the level of service warrants it.

  10. Invited Member must be booked and stay in the free room and sail on entire cruise. If, for any reason, the Invited Member does not sail but the guest does, guest will be charged the full fare.  Not sure though if they would have to pay the full single supplement, I would consider just canceling it altogether.

  11. Mine expires in December’23 and I received an email from them last week advising me to renew now.  My last renewal did not require an interview hoping that has not changed.  IIRC they have extended the grace period to 12 from 6 months for those that have sent in their renewal application.

  12. Download the borderlineups.com app and you can check border traffic in real time with video.  We did this trip in reverse last year cruising out of Seattle we live about 5 minutes from the Sumas border crossing and if IIRC we left around 6 AM.

We did a RT coastal  last year  out of Vancouver BIL dropped us off about 9:30 AM and only one other Celebrity ship in port that day.  We were lucky only took us about 90 minutes to get through as its all one line until you go through security, others not so fortunate it took 3 hours or more to get through.  I would not make any hard and fast plans until I actually get there and see what its like before heading out.  Booked for Alaska in September fortunately only one ship in port that day

  13. I found another use for the wall magnets about 3 cruises ago, they are awesome for easy access to my tip $$ that I happy to give to the person who brings my order. They are usually in and out so quick that I like to be prepared.  Some of our cabins are either way aft or at the very front of the ship, so a lot of walking.   We also order to Skywalkers so worth it to us.

  14. Just a heads up I asked for a hand held shower which was great, but there was nowhere to put it when shampooing, soaping etc and just having it dangling drove me crazy.  My cabin steward wasn't happy but I had it removed and just used a washcloth.

This cabin also didn't have any kind of a shelf in the shower which is not at all standard in the showers, not sure why this one had nothing.
