I would get off half day...

Have everything ready/packed

Go to bed til 11p( traffic will /shouldn't be heavy that time of night)

Leave by midnight, get in about 6 am ( spouse can sleep/nap during this time )

Have a nice breakfast with spouse

Find parking close to port

Enjoy cruise

MTD would be best for you, because of the time you like to eat

The Italian restaurant is very good

If your really picky... Do lido for dinner and you can get what you want and not have to dress up....

I am sure you can't do luggage express... That flight time is to early to do it..

Orlando airport to port canaveral is about a 30-45 minute ride.

We used the carnival transfers and luggage express, but flights were after 1 pm

Can you do it? I would think you can... But would definitely be stressful, having to worry about the ship coming in late, long line at customs, traffic, airport check in, security...to many variables that can go wrong

I personally wouldn't do it

We will be on the Liberty in May; we are on the Lido deck - mid ship - I think that means we will be assigned to the Golden Olympian dining room. This will be our 5th Carnival Cruise and I have a list of all kinds of stuff that we want to do on this cruise that we haven't on others.. silly I know, but one of them is to be in the Aft dining room (we've always been on midship so always the midship dining room).... can I change?

I am sure one is for traditional dining and the other is for MTD.... So if you usually do traditional dining at Mid ship.... Switch to MTD for the aft

Could you compare entertainment between the two cruise lines?

No comparison .... RCI winds hands down

The only thing carnival has going for it with entertainment is the comedy Shows,

And they are so crowded and hard to get into

Cucina was pretty good... Plan on doing it again in 3 months

The chicken parmigiana and Caesar salad.... I can hardly wait

It's been a yr since my last breeze cruise.....

1. Do they still do check in at the Miami airport? It was so much easier than waiting in line at the port.

2. Did they ever start luggage express?

Both the Freedom and Breeze is doing a southern Caribbean itinerary to Aruba, Curacao, Dominican and Turks next March. The Freedom is going on my DW and my 10th anniversary, but the Breeze is going the next week. I know the Breeze is suppose to be the newest Carnival ship, but it is really the Destiny rebuilt as I understand it. Any suggestion if one ship is better then the other. The prices are within $30 of each other and the stops are the same, except one leaves from Fort Lauderdale and one from Miami.

Love both ships...

I am looking at the same itinerary for march 2014, and I am pretty set on then breeze.

It's so understandable how the day can get away from you, but I don't mind, as I kinda love savoring each day's installment. Makes it last longer and helps pass the time waiting. We are doing this same itinerary on 10/28 and I'm sure I'll spend some time before we go and read it all again--you wrote a good story. Thank you. Kari

I see that one of the pools are indoors or covered..... Is the water warm enough to be swimming in the first few sea days?

I don't use the shampoo( I bring my own---color treated hair) ... But the hubby and daughter (21) do, and they like it.... But the daughter definately says bring the conditioner.... The shower gel is not bad either.... But we have allergies so we bring ivory.

We have never had a problem taking our fan, ours is a 12 inch plastic square model that we pack in our regular checked luggage with our extension cord.

I have used luggage express on the dream twice, the liberty, and rci's allure of the seas ... And we have flown. Delta, american airways, united and southwest, and all flight departure times had to be after 1130
