We are debating on a whale watching in Juneau. I guess that was the excursion I wondered if we could book in Port. Any opinions on whale watching and mendenhall. We are in Port for 5 hours. Would we have time to walk to the waterfall at mendenhall? Are we better off to do mendenhall on our own and leave time to wander Juneau.
Thanks

Love Nola! We stayed in Metarie at the Best Western and had free transportation to port.Cab back to hotel after cruise it was 20.00 ( 2years ago) Another possibility is to stay on a trolley line such as Lower Garden St Charles quality inn so you can take advantage of the trolley as parking in the French Quarter is costly and not fun to navigate at night.Trolley is a few dollars to ride all day. Doing this you could park at the port. I think they are more reasonable than most for cost.
Enjoy your time in New Orleans....its amazing!

I wondered if the Alaskan ports have tours offered when you leave the ship. (similar to the Caribbean cruise ports.) Is it cheaper and/or negotiable the prices should we wait until we are in dock. I am wondering about Juneau and Ketchikan.
Thanks

Anyone able to confirm legend 4k doors opened since February. I too would be upset as the reason I booked these rooms would be for the fresh air. (There are possibly better cruise ship options to Alaska but for the price on 4k it made it a good choice)
I am going to call carnival,I think if they hear from many people they may change their mind on the locking of the doors.

Help
I read on cruise critic that a cruise Dec 2015 door did not open. Can someone confirm that this isn't true on legend.
Thanks
We are in 4141

recent posts (December 2015) mentioned French doors are not opening at all.Can recent cruisers comment on if this is true and specify which ship.
Thanks

I also had a question about the Glacier Explorer. On carnival legend it is available at 11 or 2:45. I wondered if I could get opinions on which is a better time to take. I am considering 2:45 as I can sail Tracy's Arm and then go on to get closer to the glaciers.
Travelling on a budget. From what I have read it is a must do. Has anyone been disappointed with this tour?
Thanks

Any must see places on the klondike. I wondered about little towns. We are going as far as emerald lake and maybe a little beyond to Robinson Road house.

I wondered for those who just went on Legend, how close you made it to the glacier in Tracy's Arm Fjord?
I also noticed posts that said shorts are not necessary, are there no days that you could wear shorts?
Thanks

Is fttf worth it in Seattle. Is it usual you can get on the ship around 11am? We are doing an Alaskan cruise in 2016 and wondering if fttf would be worth is as there are no tenders. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I wondered if someone renting from avis in Skagway (in 2015) could comment on their experience. I have seen in the past that you cannot go down the road to Dyea with an avis car but the posting was 7 years old. Have they changed their policy?
THanks

One other question. We are going to stay on board going through tracy's arm. Any recommendations of good public areas on Legend for viewing would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure where to ask this. How long is Carnival Legend in Tracy arm fjord? What time does it arrive in Tracy's arm. Wondered if you made it through to see the glacier at the end.
Thanks

We have a few hours before we would have to head to the airport. We were thinking of taking a taxi to Pike Market or Westlake Center. Is there lockers available to store luggage at either of these places? We thought we would take the light rail to the airport after. My other thought would be to ask the hotel that we are staying at precruise if they would hold our luggage for a few hours. Just thought Pike market with luggage may be crazy!
Thanks
