I know what you’re going through. Mcrcruiser! My second shot was cancelled two weeks ago due to no moderna available. I’ve been checking all sites 10 times a day at least with no luck. I’m now two weeks late getting it and weary of the tedious process to try and book an appointment. Just a thought for you—Try calling 211 for help. Laurie

Here’s the link https://book.appointment-plus.com/ctbdj1vy/#/ for tri city

For the posters who live in San Diego county, Tri City Hospital in Oceanside is taking appointments for the moderna vaccine. I live in East county and will be driving 45 miles for my appointment and grateful. It was very easy to make appointment. Laurie

So different here in Southern California. I can’t get an appointment for my 97 year old father. Only medical personnel to date.

I have an April 3, 2021 San Diego to Mexico cruise booked. Sure don’t want to be on the first test cruise so thinking I need to cancel. So bummed. Laurie

Same here. I have a May 2021 cruise booked. Come final payment date in February, I'll be looking close at on-board policies, etc to decide if the cruise is worth it. Right now, I'm not keen on having to wear masks every time I'm out of the room, but if they're sailing at half capacity, I might think it's worth it. Just hypotheticals. We shall see.
Ditto. I have April 2021 cruise booked. I will cancel before final payment in January if masks are required. If I can’t breathe the ocean air I don’t want to cruise badly enough I guess. Laurie

Having mostly sailed in inside cabins I will now look at the larger ships with more affordable balconies. I shudder to think of getting quarantined in an inside cabin. Laurie

Just an FYI. I cancelled my July 4th koningsdam Cruise. Even though Canada ports will allegedly open July 1, I’m not convinced they will and I don’t want to be quarantined on a ship. Not thinking Alaska cruises will be running this year. Hoping I’m wrong! Best of luck to all Laurie

True it may fade by June, but I’ll have paid I full by then so in my mind, still iffy

My July 4 Alaska cruise out of Vancouver is looking iffy to me. Wish I knew...

I always have two pair of comfy walking shoes in Alaska. They can get soaked in the rain/mud and take days to dry out.

Thank you Scottbee!

We have a 6am flight out of Vancouver the day after our cruise. What time do we need to be at airport? Thanks

They were very nice buses that dropped us off a block from the visitors center. Never had to wait for one

Looking at July 3-return July 11. San Diego to Vancouver and return. Haven’t found a flight less than $550 pp and those are less than ideal times. Most flights over $600+. Am I doing something wrong? Not real experienced with booking flights. Thanks for any suggestions. Laurie

Thank you all. I’ve been looking at this option since Vancouver flights are crazy expensive to San Diego and reverse.

Another viewpoint-we rented a motor home in anchorage for 10 days then picked up a southbound cruise out of Seward. So fabulous we again rented a motor home - this time for two weeks to see more of Alaska. Lots of info on Alaska boards to help with itinerary!

Thank you so much for all your information! One of us has trouble walking. Can do so slowly. No wheel chair or scooter. Just worried about the walk. Again, you’ve been very helpful and thanks! Laurie

Approximate taxi fare from pier to airport? Have mobility issues. Thanks

Thank you RuthC. Since Alaska is all about the scenery and not the ship I’m inclined to book the lower promenade on the volendam if I can.

Thank you!

I haven’t been on either ship. Which would you suggest for round trip Vancouver? We will be booking inside or obstructed view cabin. Thanks for any input. Laurie

I’ve done maasdam twice. Once the 14 day Alaska cruise and once 14 days Boston to Montreal and back. The cruises were fine—never had a bad cruise—but I don’t want to cruise maasdam again. Frankly, the ship is half of my destination and she just doesn’t offer what the larger ships do. It really depends on your own expectations. Personally loved the NA and Eurodam since then. Laurie

We have asked that the second beer not be opened and it was never a problem at happy hour. Enjoy!

Yes Del Mar has available vaccine but only Pfizer and I’m stuck with moderna.
