We're cruising the end of '24, assuming things are back to normal on Labadee, and will have me & my wife & our three adult children.  I know the write-up for the beach beds says max of 4, but has anyone used a bed & chairs with 5 adults?  Of course, the bed itself would most like never have more thank 2 or 3 on it.  Just wondered about other cruiser's experiences.  Thanks!!

Most likely fine ... as long as you don't mind squeezing in 🙂

Hello, I see on the booking site that there's a minimum age limit of 4yo. Do they enforce it? I have a 3 yo and would love to use the beach bed for the whole fam. Thanks!

There shouldn't be a problem at all ... have a great time!

I understand that I will get a paper the night before we arrive at Coco Cay with the cabana that we are assigned.  Is there a way to add the other passengers who are sharing our cabana prior to arrival, or do you take care of that when you register on the island?

The cabana/day bed assignments may be sent anytime between embarkation day to night before arrival.  As long as you're under the max number ... other guests can just go there to join you - Beach Club may ask for the name of the person who booked it and then direct them to you.

Leatherback Brewery, last I checked, was mostly a restaurant selling beer originally brewed on St Croix. Their intent was to do some brewing in their Charlotte Amalie/Havensight location, but not sure if they have started yet.

DH and I walked across the street from Havensight on our stop here in March a couple months ago.  Good selection of beers … brewed both on site (small batches) and from their main location.  Just your standard brewery with bar seating and some tables … not really a restaurant, but they did have a limited food menu available.  We got a pretzel to go with out beer flight.

  5. BTW …  how is the fish chowder at Crown & Anchor?  Our fav is at Wahoo’s in St. George’s  … but we can’t always get there. If it’s good at C&A … it’ll cover our fish sandwich and chowder cravings all in one place 👍

Seconded. Art Mels is not as easy to get to but I believe superior to Woodys and is my favorite in Bermuda. The Crown & Anchor Bar in the Fairmont Hamilton Princess downtown has a sleeper cell fish sandwich that, while expensive, is just about as good. When you factor in the taxi ride it's about as expensive as Art Mels.

Ooooh … we’ll have to try this!!  We’re back in Bermuda in March and still trying to decide what we want to do … but this gives us options.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it 😋

We will try ArtMel's when in Hamilton to compare!

Love it ... please report back and let us know what you think!

We take the bus from Dockyard(very short ride) to Woody's on every visit to Bermuda.  Lots of local people and if you go just before noon you will wait.  Also plenty of seating at Woody's. Good sign if locals want to eat there. It was recommended to us by a local tour guy when we on the tour asked about Bermuda Fish Sandwich and he made a stop at Woody's for us.

Grab a table, get a beer and enjoy the crowd of locals and tourists while you wait.  But if you wait until after 1:30 you will not have to wait long at all.  There is also a room on the right side at Woody's where I think mostly locals go.

Always enjoy the fish sandwich and find people on the island very nice.  We use the bus system a lot and have never experience a rude rider or driver.  So polite and helpful.

Hmmm ... Woody's may do in a pinch, but Art Mel's is just so much better if you can get there.  More fish, thicker bread, and options galore ... in this case, size absolutely does matter 😊

Google the pics and you'll see the difference right away!

  9. Art Mel’s hands down … absolutely worth the walk/taxi for us.  Just happen to be on our way down to Bermuda now on Norwegian Joy arriving tomorrow … and will hit this up for sure 👍

Public access is required but as for chairs the St. Regis has said no day passes. None has reported any other rentals. Since it is not beach season I think it will be a few weeks for any reports from anyone who has accessed the beach.

That’s exact what I was thinking, but thought I’d ask anyway.  Guess… Tobacco Bay it is.  Thanks!

  11. Any recent updates on St. Catherine’s beach?  We’re thinking about heading there in a few weeks while in port and looking to rent chairs/umbrella.  Or, should we just stick with Tobacco Bay … which looks to be back open albeit with much higher prices than we remember but guess that’s everything these days!

During the recent refurbishment on Freedom they removed Adventure Ocean and replaced it with six cabins. From the look of this video if appears there is indeed a door to the outer deck from the deck 12 cabin corridor.

Thanks Jonathan ... that door looks great!  I also believe it was quite a few more than 6 cabins. There were a total of 14 balcony cabins along with a bunch of ocean views newly installed on deck 12 forward ... and we’re looking forward to seeing them for ourselves hopefully soon!

Wondering if anyone who has been to Busan would recommend going to Gamcheon Cultural Village or should we stay more central

We didn't spend much time there as there really wasn't much to see ... but still a good (short) stop for us.

BUSAN. We are looking at booking a small tour through Viator.  It is called Cruise Layover. Full Day customizable Private Busan Tour. Focus is to go to Gamcheon Culture Village, Gukje Market, Jagoloni market, Haedong temple...

    we are 4 people looking for 4 more people $204., 6 $163,   8 $136. That is $CAD!

We were a family of 4 and booked ourselves thru ToursByLocals in Busan for our own individualized private tour ... as we usually stay away from Viator since they're just the middle man.  You might find a better price and get more out of your tour!

Either way ... we loved Busan and found it to be beautiful ... so I think you'll have a good time!

  15. You do not. As you get near the door, it unlocks automatically.

We are on Baja deck, and the medallions were in our cabin this evening.

We're booked in Baja deck cabin on an upcoming CB sailing ... where on Baja is your cabin? Is it anywhere near B632?

  16. Check out tours by locals.. this tour is under shore excursions, busan day tour including haedong yonggungsa temple. I emailed Ken the guide and he answered right back. He will meet you at cruise ship port and you can change anything. Hope this helps... have a great trip! Hope you’ll report back.

I thought that the tours by locals were primarily walking tours. Are there any that have a van to take you outside the city center as well?

  17. Hi Jacque!

We looked at hiring a car/driver thru Busan Mate for an 8 hr DIY tour with pickup from the port area. They also have a few possible itineraries on their website that could be used as well. Although their ratings are good, I haven't been able to find any other information about them here at all.

Has anyone ever used BusanMate for a private tour and could help provide some more information about them?
