  1. On Brilliance a while back, we had to use our ship card to get a towel and would have been charged for it had we not returned it. May not solve the problem completely but at least it prevents people just leaving towels behind on chairs and not going back to them - even leaving them for a while may appear risky to some, so would free more chairs up.
  2. Yes I I have heard that the savings is per stateroom, based on double occupancy, per voyage. They have now corrected the website in the one spot.

The UK MD, Richard Twynam, is happy to work with you though. We would rather you sail with us than cancel!

    Please email him at

    rtwynam@azamaraclubcruises.com

Thanks Bonnie - thats excellent news.

An MD that talks to its customers - I am impressed.

I will contact him in the a.m.

Thank you again - I will keep you informed

  3. It is not ok if it just stops in a foreign country - it must call in what is designated a "distant foreign port", a defined term.

It was designed to encourage US flagging of vessels, rather than foreign flagging, and protect a US owned fleet in case of war. Rather arcane at this point but nonetheless still US law.

Thanks - still dont understand how a different port makes any difference - then again we still have a medieval law that says we must practice our archery on a Sunday - dont understand that either :D:confused::D

  4. Lexdisic - Oops pressed the wrong button. I managed to find the ruling and it does seem as quoted to be per person but then says per stateroom:confused: I think it's been badly written and needs to be corrected. Reminds me of the 'All Inclusive' and 'More Inclusive' cruising debacle:(

It says per person BASED on 2 per stateroom. Celebrity went through the same thing with their drinks packages and had to do a U-Turn on the decision after they tried to advertise one thing and change what was included. Makes one wonder if they knew what they were doing. You are probably right in that its just badly written - no excuse for the powers that be that should check especially as its the T&C's that is supposedly there to clarify whats what. If its a "NO" for me then they just lifted my expectations to then let me down again - not a good start for me as I cant see anything else that would be suitable. We will see, at least I tried.

  5. Lexdisic - our bookings were also made in the UK as a X-GTY booking last year with no other benefits or OBC. Having read the T&C's I cannot find the sentence that you refer to:confused: Our initial b2b was booked at the Cruise Show where we were informed by a sales rep of the b2b discount. Sorry I can't be any wiser.

Thanks for getting back. If you go to

    http://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/news-and-offers/cruise-deals/terms-and-conditions.aspx

    3) refers to the per person quote

  6. I did same thought UK TA same result.

Looks now as if they're making up the rules as they go along and we as customers are the last to know that change has happened and they are still advertising the perks that no longer apply. Smacks a bit of what Celebrity have been doing lately and the main reason I have walked away from them.

  7. I'm booked b2b on the Quest 20th August & 1st September US,TA.

    O/V GTY

Azamara refused to honour the b2b discount as they had discounted the cruise price on there web site & I could take it or leave it,which is the fairly standard shore side attitude that I have come to expect from Az

How they EVER get new pax is beyond me!

Another difference between UK and US. The latest promo quotes :-

2.Extended Voyages savings are combinable with most other offers – some restrictions apply.

9.Extended Voyages savings are not applicable to Travel Agent Rates/Interline Rates/Nett Tour Op Rates/Gross Tour Op Rates/Closed User or any form of Non-Revenue price programs for example but not exclusive to: Seminars at Sea, Perishable Inventory, Complimentary prize winner staterooms.

No mention of GTY being a restriction

It seems cruise lines are lagging behind other industries when it comes to business done on the internet. Hotel bookings are a typical example of rates being universal wherever you are domicile - and a cruise is a floating hotel. So why cant cruise lines be the same ?

I hope they dont tell me to take it or leave it - if they do - my circumstances may dictate the answer :(

  8. There are several cruise lines that have great last minute bargains that they sell off through non-US travel agents. These sailings, mainly in Europe or the British Isles, are easier for European passengers to take advantage of because the airfares will be much lower than a last minute flight from the US.:)

Although you are right regarding airfares and last minute deals, it works both ways, but I was referring to standard deals not subject to last minute complications that UK pax will seek out a US TA - this of course is another subject perhaps not for this thread as the detail being discussed regards an offer made by AZ UK for AZ UK customers on the AZ UK website.

  9. News to me. I'm booked on a b2b in August in a guarantee cabin and my b2b discount is right there on the invoice. Perhaps it's different in the UK.

There are different promotions and conditions depending on which side of the pond as well as which itineraries are involved. Not a "one fits all" - goes for all the cruise lines, hence why alot of UK people use a US TA if they can to get a better deal. I must admit, I've never heard of a US citizen using a UK TA to get a bargain - I wonder why

  10. Just to clarify :-

This offer is on the UK website. We are booking from UK

This is a full price sailing with no OBC available for it to be combined with.

The potential booking is not a GTY and has been confirmed that it qualifies for the B2B discount.

If you read highlighted part of my post it clearly says "savings per person" and NOT stateroom or lead passenger only.

We had decided to look at the cruises (2 x 16 days) and splurge on a suite as it will be the last of the longer cruises we take before retirement dictates we cut our cloth accordingly. With the discount that was advertised ie per person, the price fell into our budget - just.

In the grand scheme of things, £600 ($1000), is not an excessive amount of shortfall on a £14,500 ($23,000) booking (approx 4%), but it could be a deal breaker for us as it will take us over our budget. Had we have realised that the discount only applied to the lead passenger/stateroom in the first place, we would not have considered the sailings and hence we would not have had our excitement dampened by mis-leading information in the T&C's.

A further anomaly on the website shows "free flights or 2 for 1 offers on flights on selected sailings. The cruise only price has remained the same whereas the "free flight" price has increased .

CEEJILLY - When did you book your B2B ? The present promotion I am referring to is running from !st June to 31st July - did you get any other benefits? Did you see in the T&C.s if it mentioned "lead passenger discount" or just when you received the invoice?

Hopefully Bonnie can get this favourably resolved with the UK MD - if not, then at least get clarity on the T&C's so that no-one else is unexpectedly duped.

  11. Hi Bonnie

I am looking to book a B2B which qualifies for £300 discount per segment. Guatemala are saying to my TA that the discount is for the stateroom and is £150 per passenger per segment. I would like to draw your attention to the Azamara UK website from which I have copied the following T&C's

1.Extended Voyages savings are per voyage when booking consecutive Azamara Club Cruises voyages.

2.Extended Voyages savings are combinable with most other offers – some restrictions apply.

3.Savings are in GBP / EURO per person, and based on double occupancy per stateroom. Back to back savings for sailings 8 nights or shorter are £200/€200 and for sailings 9 nights or longer £300/€300 for 9 days or more.

There is no mention of the discount being per stateroom and no mention of £150 per passenger, but are insisting to my TA that it is. Could you please :-

    1) clarify whether it is or isnt per passenger

    2) If it is £300 per passenger, could you inform Guatemala that it is so my TA can book the B2B

    3) If it is per stateroom, could you tell me so and amend what appears to be a deceptively worded document on the website.

This will be my first Azamara cruise if I go ahead and book, but dont really relish the thought that for booking so early (April 2016), I am being rewarded with misleading information.

Thanks in advance for your attention.

  12. I use Adblock and I don't see any blank spaces or the number that have been blocked. Just a clean page.

I've got an Adblock symbol on the address bar at the right hand side (small red hexagon with white hand in it) with a number attatched to it showing the number of blocks. On the thread it shows 5 blocked - on the page I am typing on , it shows 1. I can put up with static adverts, but those that flash and scroll are so distracting that I just leave the blocker on permanently. I dont feel I'm doing a dis-service to CC as their advertisers and CC itself will e-mail me anyway.

  13. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I use Ad Blocker and see none of the ads other than the number that have been blocked - this is the UK - dont know if that makes any difference.

  14. I already searched for you if you look at my post. As to why everyone wears white? Power of suggestion I suppose, seeing that it's called a "White Night Party" in the listing in Pursuits. The more complete description under the Today's Entertainment Highlights on our last cruise on the Journey said "Join your Cruise Director, Eric, along with the Journey Entertainment Team. Wear something White. The Dance Party begins at 10:00 pm Cabaret Lounge Deck 5" Should you be lucky enough to sail on Azamara, I hope you go to the party! It's loads of fun (but still better when it can be held outdoors by the pool :D).

Didnt look your link :) That explains it - BBQ and white ? oh dear, I fear I will be in trouble :D

  15. Go back and read the second post. The White Night Party is an on-deck buffet (decks 9 and 10), people wear white, there's dancing to live music, people have lots of fun, participation is very high. If you need to know more, search this board for White Night Party.:)

Dont want to be picky here but post 2 said only it was a buffet and party. I thought this thread was asking what it was - didnt realise I had to do a search for an answer when a question was being asked, thought the answers would be here. I wont bother asking why everyone wears white - will go straight to search function as suggested. Thanks for help :p

  16. Hi

Can anyone tell me where the Quest docks in Rhodes?

I had assumed it was near the Old Town but see it says Lindos.

If it is at Lindos town, are there any shuttles to the Old Town or, what is the best way of getting there?

    Thanks

Dont think there is a terminal at Lindos - only Rhodes where the pier is outside the Old Town of Rhodes. Lindos (very hot there) is about an hour away by coach and visit the old town (of Lindos) and Acropolis

  17. Here's the deal, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THESE THINGS, they are optional. We drank the coffee that was served and brought our D'Vita to doctor it up. The specialty restaurant (Steakhouse) was given to us as it was part of the package, otherwise we wouldn't have paid to eat there. We did not attend any shows as they are all alike regardless of the cruise line. We don't care who the celebrity is on board, it's not worth our time or money to see them. We cruise for the ports and to just relax and enjoy the free music. The meals in the MDR are mediocre - that's why we don't bother eating there, there's better options in the buffet. I do see each cruise line trying to out do the other. I'm happy with a balcony cabin, eat where I please, and ignore them trying to get into my wallet. The decision is yours not theirs.

    Not for long :)
