While this is true, it wasn't exactly a routine process. If memory serves correct, during conveyance the stacks were lowered and the ship even "squatted", mechanically increasing it's water draft to ease through. I don't think it's something that would happen on a weekly voyage.
And to the poster still pining for an Oasis Class out of New York.... Never gonna happen.
I looks like the day it was "never going to happen" has arrived 🙂
Sorry, I know I am late to the party on this.

There is a connecting Sky Suite attached to the PH which then would get you 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
I see, thank you. That is the one thing Royal has on Celebtriy, you can sleep more people in the suites. On Mariner we had two in each bedroom (2 bedroom suite) and one on the pullout.
-
I was wondering if someone can tell me how many bedrooms in the Penthouse Suite on the Infinity? We are a group of 5, and hope to have two people in each bedroom, and one on a pullout couch. Thank you!

Does anyone know what beers are available on Harmony❓I’m hoping someone has a beer list/menu from the Boot and Bonnet Pub. Prices would be greatly appreciated too. Thank you in advance.
Royal is not know for their beer selection. If you look at the menu above, it reflects mostly the mainstream stuff. They should step up their game.

Really disappointed in the change in the music about the ship. This was a huge highlight for us and way better than any ship we have ever been on. If the proposed music is on Apex, it may be a cancel.
Can you elaborate on this?

A Cruise Critic Editor wrote the following, after cruising the Edge and discussing potential changes with those onboard.
from the article:
"Celebrity listened. Over the past few months, the line has been incorporating feedback from cruisers and evaluating what needs to be tweaked."
"We're working through a few things," said Brian Abel, senior vice president of hotel operations for the entire Celebrity Cruises fleet. "The ship doesn't come to life until you have ... passengers and ... crewmembers onboard. ... You have to give the ship enough time to start living and breathing ... before you ... start making changes."
Changes include:
-entertainment changes, including Eden
-trial of frosted glass in bi-fold doors
-more shade
-less wind
-changing MDR specials for 4 MDRs (2 regional specials lists for each of the 4 MDRs rotated)
-Le Grand Bistro schedule change
-Dinner on the Edge change
and more!
Some great changes (though don't agree with Le Grand Bistro change) - a good start..... nothing about the suites in this article.
I wonder what they mean by entertainment changes. Perhaps more, and also a greater variety of live music in the lounges at night?

I just looked at the cruises available and I would suggest booking the Aqua class on the Equinox in the western Caribbean. The best price for what you get on either ship in June. Besides, if this is their first cruise, they really need to book a veranda to truly appreciate the joy of cruising!!
I think they are going to do a suite. A guaranteed suite is a little less than $4k total.

The solstice class ships are definitely nice but it really depends on what kind of people your parents are: crowds vs quiet, entertainment vs socialize in a bar, excursions vs on your own. As I mentioned the biggest difference I have seen is entertainment.
They are crowds (not wall to wall people, but lively bars, etc.), they like both entertaining and socializing, and I don't think they care much about excursions. They might even just stay on the ship and drink at certain ports if they aren't too exciting,

I need to check the refurbishment schedule. Maybe it is Being refurbished in May. We are booked on her for October.
Just checked, it's May. Definitely going to advise Equinox now as it will essentially be brand new.

From my experience Princess tends to have more parallel entertainment at night. Celebrity tends to have everybody march to the same beat. As a result the Celebrity theater is larger whereas on princess there maybe a comedy show going on while the theater show is going on.
So it sounds like Princess has a greater variety of entertainment?

Then it won’t be the new and improved revolutionized decor. We were last on 1.5 years ago, and she was still in excellent condition.
You said in your original reply that the Equinox is due to be revolutionized in June. I do not think this is correct, as she is cruising all of June.

Either would be a good choice, but I would highly recommend the Equinox. The ship I sent due for a major overhaul for June when they “revolutionize “ her, so it might be out of commission for part of June, however. The layout of the Equinox is way better than the Caribbean. We’ve been on Caribbean’s sister ship the Crown. Much more crowded. Showrooms wayyyy more crowded. Food better one Equinox. Make sure to book a promo on X which had all inclusive alcohol. Yes, I definitely vote for Equinox.
Interesting, so it would be one of the last cruises before she went into dry dock.

My parents and their friends are interested in their first ever cruise. They all live in Fort Lauderdale, so it is fairly easy for them to get to the port, etc. They would like to go in June of this year. Everyone is in their early 60's, and still enjoy partying. They like to hang out at the bars, drink, listen to live music, etc. They also prioritize good food and quality cocktails.
I have narrowed it down to either the Caribbean Princess or Celebrity Equinox. Which do you think would be best to get them hooked on cruising, and why?

Yeah the little whale pool looks like it will be rehabilitated but still be a splash pool. Otherwise it's pretty much replacing underutilized sundeck area. Should be a nice addition. The bar back there was always hit or miss as far as when it was open, I imagine it will do a killing now. Note that in the images below the tube to Skywalker's is not shown, so there will actually be some shade back in this area too.

During the current drydock of Caribbean Princess, they will be adding a feature called "Splashpad with Whale Feature". What will this be replacing on the deck?
-
Not sure I am going to book this now. I want to wait to see how the new Cuba travel restrictions are going to affect this itinerary.

Is there a physical bar in Michael's Club on the Constellation? Do they ever have live music?

Thank you, all! I think we will give it a try! How do I get Azamara to match my Crown and Anchor level? I understand that this is something they will do.

Hi Doc2725, welcome to the Azamara forum! And thank you for considering Azamara. The 4-Night cruise to Havana would be a great, albeit short, introduction to our style of cruising.
On this cruise you’ll have two nights on board and, should you wish, two nights on the town in Havana.

Thanks, would love some input on the questions I asked too!

Hi Everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I have been on many cruises, but this would be the first on Azamara. We are looking at the Azamara Journey, 4-Night Havana Weekend Voyage out of Miami in November 2019. The itinerary is a great, and it will be a nice quick get away for us to two great places. My question is mostly related to nightlife on board, and the demographics. We are in our early 30s, and while we like to party, we are not looking for something over the top. We like to sit and listen to music/drink after dinner, usually going to bed around midnight. Do you think the ship would be "dead" past 10:30?
-
Ah, got it. That makes sense. I was going to say it appears that there are very few people on board compared to the other ships that just went out. Thanks!

Yes, I’ve been watching. Port schedule says arrival at 1816 and departure at 00:15.
Maybe a medical emergency?

Am I mistaken, or has Carnival Triumph turned around and his heading back to Port Everglades? Watching it now on the PTZ webcam. If so, any idea why?

The lack of activities, lack of library, lack of bars, lack of verandah size in the true verandah, (I won’t even consider the verandah-less verandah), the weirdness that is Eden, and mostly the relentless BOOM BOOM BOOM that accompanied all the music even the Christmas Carols, the dependence on an app which has incorrect information, all added together to make a thoroughly unpleasant cruise experience. The innovations in the stateroom and the four dining rooms couldn’t overcome the ship’s design and programming deficiencies.
Lack of bars? From the looks of the tours on Youtube, there are a ton of bars.
