  1. Yes they do. Reviews I have read all indicate they are not the same thing. If this is a misconception on my part I am pleased to be corrected.

You are correct! The Vista's version of the Thalassotherapy pool is a joke (they can only call it that because of the water content) but the other ships mentioned have the wonderful T-pool with the long tube lounger and waterfall faucet thingies. If you Google the ships by name you can see the difference.

  2. .

Just looking at the online videos, the Vista class T-Pool is a joke. And deal breaker for me.

I will say I don’t understand the “mineral water” take. Unless treated, all water has minerals.

I completely agree! Unfortunately I had a spa cabin booked before I found out about the Vista t-pool and they don't allow downgrades so I was stuck. If I wanted to be part of people soup I would just use a regular hot tub on the ship!

  3. Thanks - that helps. :) Are you able to leave the tourist park early if you want? Or is it just "part of the day"?

Can you share what the "specific to Mexico" excursion was?I'd like to do something meaningful, since our excursion the next day just involves rum. :)

If you sign up for the turtle excursion you are trapped on the tour for the day.

I thought I booked the "specific to Mexico" excursion via Carnival but could be wrong. If this link doesn't work, just Google "Flavors of Mexico Tour at Discover Mexico" https://www.cozumel-tours.com/chocolate-factory.htm

The tour included history of Mexico, including which products were made in each region, chocolate making, tequila tasting, a yummy margarita, and a taco buffet. They take you through a small museum of amazing art pieces, and I thought that the items in the gift shop were more unique than those at the ship dock mall.

  4. What are the benefits of the spa balcany virus regular balance?

Access to the thermal suite and Thalassotherapy pool on ships that have them. If the ship doesn't have the Cloud 9 Spa, they don't have the thermal suite, but the Vista's T-pool is tiny and inadequate IMO. If you Google the ship name with Cloud 9 Spa you can see pics of what each ship offers.

  5. No matter the conveyance, it's never safe to pack anything of value in checked luggage. I started keeping track of how many things I pack VS how many things I didn't wear or use so I'm streamlining although I have a tendency to over-pack. I've seen plenty of cruisers who are allowed on the ship with what seems to me as massive amounts of luggage, so you should be fine whatever you decide on.

One thing they recommend is cross-packing in case something happens to one of the suitcases; so some of your stuff in your partner's suitcase and vice versa.

  6. Love the Twilight Zone, Alchemy's 40 is the new 20, Cadillac Margarita, Fresh Italian (kinda strong but yummy), Blue Iguana's Chipotle Pineapple Passion Margarita.......and I haven't tried it yet but their Red's Caribbean Colada sounds good (I couldn't find it on the Red Frog menu)...

  7. Yep. I do have a spa cabin. First time on Carnival. So am I seeing correctly the steam room is co-ed? Is a thermal suite the heated chairs? No special pool or whirlpool-not a big deal to me but some might not like that.

Sent from my Pixel XL using Forums mobile app

Everything is co-ed except the locker rooms/bathrooms.....Yes, the thermal suite includes the heated tile chairs and seating. If you do a search for Cloud 9 Spa for the ship you can find pics here and on Google.

  8. I did this excursion and it was just ok. The turtle portion of it is great but then they take you to a tourist park that has the history of Mexico and art, etc. I didn't know that would be part of the tour going in so it just make me roll my eyes, just another place they want us to spend money. We also stopped at a place that sold black coral. Ditto. A while ago I booked an excursion that was specifically to learn about Mexico and it was a lot better than I thought it would be, and there were no detours.

  9. :o

I loved my Spa cabin so much on the Splendor I booked it again. Things I liked about it:

    1. The T-pool, we went every night

    2. The steam rooms

    3. The T-pool--I'm telling you that thing is magic

    4. The location--Being up that high, it's quiet and a short walk to the Lido deck and there was access to a "secret deck" 10 feet from our room. I'll always remember the full moon on the calm waters between Cabo and Mazatlan.

    5. The T-pool--I called it my boyfriend for a good reason.

Haha, I feel the same way about the Dream-Class T-pools, but was horribly disappointed by the Vista-Class version. It's just a freaking hot tub, no pipe lounger, no fountain faucets, and it's about a fourth the size. I guess it's the water used that allows them to call it a T-pool, but they are nowhere near the same :(

  10. Carnival Breeze is my favorite Carnival ship

Same here! Even after sailing on the Carnival Vista, I prefer the layout of the Dream class and the Cloud 9 Spa is better than the Vista class (especially the thalassotherapy pool). Since the Alchemy bar got added, the only thing I miss on the Breeze is there's no Jiji's ;)

  11. Yes, I have checked in online for every cruise. You can check-in online without providing your flight information. That is not a requirement to check-in. In fact I have never put my flight information in when completing my online check-in.

I'm aware that it's not required, but I'd rather fill everything out once, and provide all of my info, since I travel solo. Just another way of letting people know where I'm supposed to be. Not that we can count on Carnival to keep track of things  They don't seem able to find the info we give them a lot of the time, it can be frustrating.

  12. Incorrect information.

Yes, you have to wait 90 days prior to your sailing to check-in.

Not sure what a flight has to do with your online checkin, unless you're booking your flight through Carnival?

Lol, my information is not "incorrect", it's a fact, the rules must have changed after I did my online check-in.

Have you never used online check in? The site has *always* asked how I'm getting to the cruise, and for flight info if available, and no, I have never booked my flight via Carnival.

  13. I have *only* cruised solo and can't imagine sharing the small space with anyone! No matter what your choice of dining time, just tell them at check in that you are solo and looking to sit with other solos and/or other people willing to share a table. They will do their best to accommodate you. If you are on Anytime Dining you can either stay with the same table/people, or ask for another table, or sit solo. Sometimes I am so tired I just want to sit by myself, but unless they sit you in the far corner and aren't seating people in the general area, you're about 10 inches from the next table :)

I love doing what I want when I want. I like playing trivia games but haven't won a SOAS (ship on a stick) for a while, I am overdue! I haven't gone to the production shows in years, I am a piano bar fly (we call ourselves piano bar-barians :D ) and always meet new people and have a great time!

  14. Definitely worth changing and getting your money back. The spa cabin hallways are much quieter than others, in regular cabins people like to carry on and make a lot of noise.....maybe I've just had bad neighbors?

As mentioned previously, you get discounts on spa services as well, but the discount won't apply to any port day or sea day specials they have.
