  1. In Stockholm we are docking at Stadsgardskajen on Celebrity's Eclipse. Our main objective is to visit the Vasa Museum before it gets too busy. According to the museum website the museum opens at 10am & From what I have seen the HoHo boats don't start until 10am and will have several stops so we will get there much later. I would be grateful for any advice as this will be our 1st visit to Stockholm.

  2. I have to say......it does sound a little scary.......

After going thru security (and customs ?)....then you wait in T5A for the flight gate designation......and possibly a mad rush to B or C......??

I'm a bit confused  I'm presuming from your questions that you are landing at LHR T5 and not intending to catch another plane hence you asking about baggage claim- am I wrong??

  3. I have another Heathrow question.....I've looked on the

terminal 5 maps and can't seem to find the baggage claim area.....is it on the ground floor.......??

Yes, the baggage reclaim is on the ground floor. Once you have gone through Immigration (there can be queue's) you take the escalator down 1 floor and the baggage reclaim is there.. Luggage carts are free to use.

  4. In an ideal world you should be fine but all you need is a slight delay arriving into LHR and that is when things go wrong. I'm thinking more about your luggage connecting to your Rome flight in time -That would be my worst nightmare:(

You haven't said where you are coming from (looks like Canada) but having worked at LHR for 35 years I know it is peak time for flights arriving in the morning & they often get stuck in air traffic queue's and have to do a few circuits before they are allowed to land!!

If you possibly can try to re schedule to a slightly later flight to Rome

  5. Bummed out. After not hearing back from the company, I emailed them tonight. Received email response back a few hours later to say there was no space. What was annoying was that they should have done it earlier instead of me chasing them. Oh well...we're still booked at Hyatt House and I've heard that's nice too. Next time we'll book earlier.

We also made the move too late and they replied within 48hrs -- no space available at the Hyatt Place - bummer! We were looking for 2nd April so in the end booked in at the Renaissance 17th street - got a Senior rate of $169 which I guess isn't too bad. We will also book earlier when Value trips have a good rate.

  6. International flights require a 3 hour check in unless they have changed the rules? It is only european flights that require just two hours.

As far as check in times go for B.A. at LHR & LGW - the 'latest' check in time is -45mins any time after that & they don't accept pax. I used to work at check in and personally I wouldn't leave it as late as -45 as sometime security has long queue's. It may be different for other airlines but 3hrs for check in is unusual

  7. It took approx 25 mins from the moment we were called to disembark - we were the 2nd number in line to disembark but they were 15 mins behind schedule calling us to get off! If you want to take your luggage off yourself you will be 1st in line to get off the ship. There are plenty of free luggage carts. The thing that took the most time was locating our luggage.

For your flight home - if you can check in online 24hr before hand and print off your Boarding Pass that will speed things up. Give you self plenty of time for traffic congestion. I'm presuming you are flying out of LHR.

So all in all ...give 25mins to get off the ship & get into transport to the airport then add approx 75mins to get to LHR + allow approx 2hr check in time If I can add correctly you will need 3hrs 40mins - 4hrs leeway from getting off the ship. Have a wonderful cruise

  8. Hello,

My husband and I have cruised a handful of times, but are now trying to plan out first "getaway" with our almost 6 month old daughter (will be nearly 7 months on June 26).

We would like to get thoughts on bringing a baby on a port intensive cruise (1 sea day out of a 14 day cruise) and cruising on the Celebrity Silhouette with a baby.

Also, any guidance on whether bringing a baby on excursions is doable and whether the ports on the itinerary could just be done on their own. We have been to both Venice and Rome previously, but the other ports are all new to us.

Also, is it silly to book a guaranteed Conceirge class room? We are planning on bringing a travel crib, stroller, and are trying to determine if a car seat is necessary (we are comfortable not bringing, if we are sticking with large tour busses or walking)

    Many thanks!!!

We have a Roll Call going for the 26th Silhouette cruise -you can always join and ask your question there. I'm sure someone will have the answers

  9. OK one last question before we go-- I know we can't bring an iron with us-- are there laundry rooms on Celebrity Reflection to do our own ironing or is only option using the Laundry Service offered on ship? Also, if you can share any tips, that would be great.

No Laundry rooms onboard I'm afraid but you can send things off to be washed & pressed at a reasonable charge.

  10. The only times I've heard "Bravo Bravo Bravo" on board, it has always been preceeded by the announcement "For practice only, for practice only" for which I'm glad!

    Other codes :

Whiskey Whiskey Whiskey: The bar is open.

Yankee Yankee Yankee: The New York Harbour Pilot is now aboard.

    Tango Foxtrot: Let's dance!

    VP

Those 'codes' are so funny ..it made me laugh out loud :D:D

  11. Where can I find out what date(s) this will be held on Cruise departing Southampton 9 - 5 - 2012 ? Also can I download a compass (cruise news)from similar cruises ?

    :o

I've just booked for the Murder/Mystery night - we cruise in March. There was a choice of for 2 dates ( 1 was on a sea day) to find out what dates were available we went into our reservations on the RCL site & there are options to make Restaurant reservations - when you go into that the Murder/Mystery option comes up ..when you go further i.e. to make a booking the dates available will come up ...you chose whatever date suits and then make booking. Having read rave reviews about the Mystery evening we decided to give it a go...the menu is limited but apparently the food is good & the price includes wine too:)

  12. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm hoping things onboard haven't progressively gone down hill in other areas too! We usually sail with Celebrity so have luckily managed to reach Diamond status with RCI but as we have only done 5 cruises with RCI this might be an eye opener for us. They must be doing something right as it would appear that RCI have loyal followers. We are going on a 14 night cruise in March on the Independence so will soon find out. Thanks again:)

  13. I'm confused as haven't cruised with RCI for a while. Pool Towels ..are you talking about the one's that are in your room (usually 2) to be used at the beach & they were usually taken away from the cabin on the last day!? The last time I cruised there were 'Pool' towels freely available by the pool and when leaving the pool you just put them in the used towel bin. Has that all changed and now we have to sign for them??
