Cathi007, get the words out n stay calm. That's my message as a seasoned cruiser. Everyone going into the buffet are asked to wash hands before being sprayed on the hands, extra measure. Incubation can take up to 2 or 3 days for symptoms to appear. But, clearly the # of suspected cases involving pax & crew reached 2"% threshold for reporting and for Captain to officially inform passengers yesterday as we get ready to leave Harvest Caye.

Relax, we aren't too worry, being alerted n on guard, a good thing. Might get an update this morning from the bridge command.

Thanks, I will be a little more careful, as we are sailing with a cancer patient and 2 children 3, 14 months. Hopefully people will be diligent about washing their hands, that is the number on defense against Noro. I am a teacher, so I am around this kind of stuff all of the time. Thanks for keeping us up to date 🙂

Thanks, Cathi007. I was going to root for your Saints until I saw your profile picture with the NYY caps on. Being a lifetime Red Sox fan, Go Rams!! In any case, enjoy the game. 🙂

Ahh but there is nothing better than that Red Sox/Yankees rivalry, they are the only games I enjoy 🙂

Are the hot tubs emptied nightly or chlorinated?

    Recent chemo.....

Curious as we are sailing with a recent cancer patient too. Not sure she will do the hot tubs, but bring plenty of Clorox® Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfecting Cleaner Spray - 1 QT.- Kills Norovirus in 1 min.2 of Saalfeld 30824 Clorox Healthcare Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaner Disinfectant Wipes, Kills Norovirus, Rotavirus, HIV, Poly-bag Protected, 6.75" x 9", X-Large Wipe (Pack of 95)Clorox Hand Sanitizer, Spray, 16.9 Ounces (02176). I purchased a ton, Norovirus is popular this time of year

I know this has been covered in earlier posts (which I cannot locate at the moment), but I am assuming the NE/KC game will be shown on board the Bliss this coming Sunday night. Can any of you past Bliss cruisers advise where would be the best place to watch the game? Which bars/locations will likely have the game on TV? Perhaps the large screen in Spice H20?

    4 Days and counting!! Thanks....

The big screen in the Atrium, District Brewhouse, or O'Sheehans I will be at one of those places on the Escape this Sunday, Go Saints

Hola n good morning, just strictly heads up and FYI, debated whether to do this separate post on it's own, separate from the Semi-L-Live thread. Fellow cruisers are still calm about this.

Nothing to panic or truly worry about it, best practices being done n hopefully everyone follow & keep things under control. I will continue to post my pix review & update on my review-blog, discussion on Norovirus might be worth staying here as it can get debated & sidetrack the review. Other pax onboard n fellow CC might be posting & add to this.

It's currently raining hard in the port so we are adjusting to our Plan C.  Again, stay calm ... Washy Washy and more. If for some reasons, CC site is down, watch for urgent posts on Twitter, "cpn8288".

Thanks for the heads up. I saw this was a big problem on the Oasis last week, so I prepared and purchased Clorox Bleach Free hand sanitizer (one of a few that kill Noro), Clorox Hydrogen Peroxide wipes, and spray, all which kill Norovirus. Hopefully this and diligent hand washing will prevent an outbreak. Glad the staff are being pro-active about this. Thanks for the update 🙂 Washy Washy

Thanks for that. Hopefully I will be able to sign up fo the painting the first day. How is your weather? We are hearing of a possible Nor'Easter for Saturday into Sunday, but you know how these weather forecasters are....usually wrong. It looks nice. I love you ocean photos. Have fun 🙂

I'm pretty sure most insurance companies would figure out that you already got a complete refund from the cruise companies, and might go after you for insurance fraud.

No but what about the people who lost their vacation time? Spending days in you cabin might not be a vacation for some. I'm not saying they should get a full refund and all the money from the insurance, but maybe some.

The key is  to wash your hands as much as possible. Soap and water is enough to keep norovirus at bay, but we all have to do the work. I have witnessed too many times men leaving bathrooms without washing their hands. I wash then when i touch the rails, i wash before eating, i wash when i come back on the ship. I have never been on an NCL cruise with  a norovirus problem. I will say this, NCL was in the habit of the washy washy happy happy however on my last 2 cruises that practice was nowhere to be seen, so wash your hands.

Yeah I can't tell you how many time I witness women coming out of the stall and running out the door without washing their hands, it's disgusting. I have always kept my mouth shut, but man do I want to say something. I am bringing Clorox hand sanitizer that kills noro and Clorox wipes that kill noro, I am a little paranoid because one of the passengers sailing with us has cancer. We are diligent about hand washing though.

Headlines..loved Dueling Pianos and Comedy shows

Tobacco Rd Bar..great little  venue. Always great music playing there

Skyline Bar..Another great venue to drink and people watch..

Now that we get the UBP as one of our perks we tend to enjoy sipping a drink and listing to live music instead of going to the "big Show's in the main theater.

OH help. How do you get reservations for the comedy club??? I want to book asap when we get on Sunday. Thanks 🙂

Has anyone on the 20 Jan sailing of the Escape out of NYC heard anything on their offer yet?

There are a few on the FB page for that sailing that got their bids. There are also a few still waiting to hear. I talked to my TA yesterday, because my mom was going to join the sailing and the TA said the ship was 100% booked. It's going to be crowded but amazing

  11. It's funny the only time I have witnessed the "Chair Hog" problem was when my family and I went to a beach resort in South Florida. We sat on our balcony one morning and watched people wait for the gate to the pool be opened, then the people who were waiting scrambled to put their items on as many chairs as they could grab, and most left. I was astounded and disgusted!!! Some people are so selfish it makes me cringe

We are calling on St. Maarten in April.  I am torn between DIY to Great Bay or a ship's excursion to Kimsha Beach.  Any thoughts?

I always do my own thing, I don't want to pay a fortune to be told what time I have to come back. I like the beach too much. It's cheaper and you can stay as long as you like when you do it on your own

Hi - We will be on a Carnival Ship in June. I would like to go to a beach that rents chairs and umbrellas, has restrooom facilities, food & drink availability and has good snorkeling! Suggestions?  Please & thank you!

There is supposed to be good snorkeling off the beach at Orient Bay. We will be there at the end of Jan, so when we get back I will let you know 🙂

We are just off the getaway.  Yes, water from tap tasted fine. There is also many water/ice stations in the buffet area. It says do not fill your water bottle, but many did. I did so early in the morning.

Yeah they want people to use a cup to fill their bottles, so germs aren't passed.

We sail multiple times a year and have never purchased bottled water

on the ship. We sometimes fill empty plastic bottles from our sink to take off the ship for the convenience (and to avoid local water in places where it is questionable).

Exactly what I am doing, bringing empty water bottles (6) to keep in fridge for beach days :).

I don't know what some of you are talking about......"You can find a chair but it will e away from the pool".     This is completely false.  You aren't cruising on any sort of peak season or you wouldn't say this.   It's just completely incorrect.   I've been on plenty of NCL cruises where there wasn't a lounger available.   Not not he pool deck, not on the upper deck, not around the sports courts.   If there is one, it will be 100 yards away from eh next available lounger.

Well I will be sailing on a full Escape in 7 days, so I hope you are wrong. Other cruises I have sailed on I have never had a problem finding a lounger somewhere on a sun deck (not by the pool). Hopefully It'll be the same this time around. I will report back 🙂

I haven't seen any $5 tables at all on my last three cruises (Escape and Getaway), with the exception of craps.  And they haven't been lowering the stakes during the day.

That is a bummer, 3 years ago when I sailed on the Gem there were 5.00 tables the entire time...Oh but that was for the Let it Ride and 3 Card Poker, I am not sure about the Black Jack, hmmm. I'll find out soon though 🙂
