  2. Hi all-afloaty

It is now a "sticky" at the top of the Thomson Cruises main page.

I trawled a couple of weeks ago looking for the post and gave up. Then, lo and behold, I spotted it at the top of the page. Great, no more searching through numerous pages for it.

It's a shame because no-one has added to it for ages.

    Thank you [emoji3]

  3. can anyone tell me which drinks are included on the dream ai package travelling june2016

Hey appy ammer are you really a happy hammer like me? We are also on Dream in June doing Adriatic Explorer. Beer by the pint but not bottles, spirits but not premium for ones but Gordon's Smirnoff etc are included loads of cocktails! Let me know what you're thinking drinking wise and I'll try to help. Wine by the glass also. Happy cruising [emoji41]

  4. Certainly did thank you just one problem flooded cabin & Mrs PC came down with something which she has just got over(5weeks), now looking forward to our next one in September, and booking next years, think Caribbean is out with the new prices, should have booked earlier.

Oh sorry to hear that Pensioncruiser hope it didn't effect your holiday too badly.

  5. You cannot guarantee the timing of the drill to be as quoted in Cruise News - or even to be the time given by your rep on the journey from the airport to the ship - circumstances onboard can change unexpectedly. On our last cruise the muster was scheduled for 8 p.m. but was brought forward to 6 p.m. with only a few hours notice - as all passengers had returned to the ship by the requested time of 5.30 p.m. this didn't cause problems.

It is mandatory Maritime law that you cannot sail without having done the drill so surely it is not worth risking returning later than the scheduled time and causing difficulties to the crew.

It is also not unknown for the ship to sail earlier than anticipated - on 2 occasions we have been on the Dream when it has sailed over an hour earlier than the scheduled time.

On our first cruise on the Dream in 2012 we didn't have muster until the morning after we sailed at 10.00 am!!!

  6. You're welcome. :)

We just went in the smart casual type of clothing we'd wear for dinner on board. Nice trousers/skirt and top, dress etc. People went as though they were going on a special night out. I've just got DH to pull up some pics for me so I could see if I had a cardi or anything. I'd got a floaty top on and capri pants - men with shirt sleeves and no evidence of warmer stuff. We all look pretty hot tbh!

    Thanks again kruzseeker [emoji106]🏻

  7. Yes, loved it! Didn't do the classic cars bit - is that a lot more expensive? If so on the afternoon of our second day (when the locals would realise the ship and therefore their customers would soon be leaving) people were getting some amazingly cheap deals for classic car trips. That was in the daylight too so I guess you'd get better pics. So it might be an idea to do the two separately. Just a thought.

Anyway to get back to the Tropicana, the coach took us - it might be about 10/15 minutes and if it's fine, it's outdoors in a kind of bowl shaped area with an arc of cliffs at the back with staged areas here and there where the band and musicians appear with a circular stage below and tables radiating outwards from the stage. The seating and tables are quite close together but we were in an excellent position.

The setting is magical and the atmosphere electric! The music, colourful costumes and dancers create a fantastic spectacle. You just don't know where to look - there is just so much going on.

In the tour guide it said there was a welcome drink (I think that was a glass of sparkly wine) plus some nibbles and 'a bit of rum'. WELL............ the bit of rum turned out to be a 1Lt bottle of Havana Club between four! We each got a can of the Cuban version of Coke to go with it but I have never forgotten that bit of rum! :D

It was a relatively expensive trip but I think I looked it up online and it's pricey to DiY plus you need taxis too. You might not get seats in as good a position either. The Thomson group had reserved tables.

We thoroughly enjoyed it and felt it was a fantastic and memorable experience which we'd probably do again if we had an overnight in Havana. Apart from the Tropicana, Havana is one of our favourite cities to visit. Just walk out of the port and the fabulous old town is there to explore. It's fascinating, so much atmosphere, decaying grandeur, wonderful buildings (some just facades!), great bars, music everywhere and very cheap. Enjoy! :)

Wow thanks kruzseeker it sounds amazing! Will definitely do it now it's £79 without classic car and £99 with so not much difference really. Do fancy the whole classic car trip but might be nice to be on coach with everyone . What sort of clothes would you wear?

Just about finished packing, just my dresses and sandals to go in the case.Hubby has everything ready as well.We use packing cubes and think they're brilliant.Bought some for my daughter who was going to Croatia with her friends last year.,and the first thing they did when they came home was order some as well.

  9. Hello all-afloaty

If you go on to seat guru and type thomson dreamliner in the search box, you'll get a plan of the plane.

There are 7 rows of seats in a 2-3-2 formation.Plenty of room for your legs and a very good entertainment system. The button on the wall is for dimming and lightening the window (no blinds ).

We go on Sunday from Birmingham and are really looking forward to our trip.We did the same 2 weeks last year, also on Celebration, but had a week in a hotel in Barbados, this year we're doing the 2 week cruise.

Wow thanks for this sistermags will look at that now! Have a great time on your forthcoming cruise and let us know all about it [emoji3][emoji41]
