I'm from Germany and I can tell you in Kiel you will get the central quay at "Ostseekai" LP 27 or 28. Warnemunde will be Pier 7 or 8, also really central in the small place of Warnemunde. In Stockholm you won't pass the archipelago, you will berth at Nynäshamn, it is not directly in Stockholm (about 45 minutes distance with bus).

Last year they released the summer 2023 program on July. This year they are later.

Seems that they will reduce 2024 the Baltic cruises. Britannia has still 5 gaps where she was supposed to do Baltics and she is booked now on 12 June 2024 in Orkney.
-
How many guests are onboard this Baltic cruise?
-
Marina is still doing 2023 2 Baltic and 2 Scandinavian cruises. Riviera 1 Baltic and 1 Scandinavian.
Maybe he thought about 2024.

Anyone know what's going on here? A few months ago, NCL canceled the Baltic tours and replaced them with Caribbean tours. A few days ago, an Atlantic trip to Southampton on August 28th was also bookable, which has now also disappeared. Again redeployment?

We are on the sailing after yours on the Star - 9/26-10/6 starting in Copenhagen. When did you find out Warnemunde is cancelled? I just looked on the cruise planner and ours still shows it will be going there. We already have an excursion booked there as well. Weird they would cancel it for one of the cruises but not the other…
Warnemunde is fully booked on 24 Sep 22 that's why they had to cancel it.
Construction work is currently taking place on the 3rd large berth in Warnemunde where NCL Star should dock. It doesn't affect your cruise.

Here an info from the port of Amsterdam about this problem.

Visby Ronne and Skagen are the 3 most cancelled ports in the Baltic because of the open location in the sea. Several cruise calls there have been cancelled this year, so this is not only a specific P&O thing.
I live in the Baltic and follow the daily cruising movements in the Baltic.

So no one is replacing here? I saw that Brilliance is also not bookable anymore for the summer months 2023.
-
I don't think they will cancel her Europe season. Pretty sure they will take off Russia now and replace them with other ports. Or maybe changing some Baltic cruises with Norway cruises.

I'm not saying he's inexperienced, he just seems not to know how the canal works. Maybe he was frustrated that he is not allowed to navigate the ship himself through the canal because each ship over 100 metres needs a "Kiel Canal helmsman" and they are navigating the ships safely through the channel.
The Azamara Quest took exactly 9 hours for the passage. Any other ship of this size needs the same time. So it was not "the slowest transit ever" like he said. Now she is on the way to Copenhagen with 17 knots.

He's also probably too inexperienced about the Kiel Canal rules. I hope you enjoy the daylight transit, I will try to make later some photos of Quest around the Kiel area in the afternoon. Hopefully with no rain 📸

Hmm I live in Kiel and I can say you are well on time. Quest had only 30 minutes to wait, we have here sometimes days where you have to wait 1-12 hours to join the Kiel Canal (Viking Cruises had to wait 2 times around 10 hours). So I don't know why the captain is telling that. You should be around 6-7 p.m in Kiel and then with moderate speed to Copenhagen. Today there is also less traffic in the Canal.

How many passengers are currently on board during the Baltic cruise?
-
Skagen is a really problematic port. Today Costa Diadema couldn't get there due to high winds.
2 days ago Celebrity Silhouette couldn't go either. But wondering that they cancelled Kiel, the larger Costa Diadema is going to Kiel tomorrow as planned. Kiel is really good protected by the fjord and from winds from western directions.

instead of having one half full ship running next summer, they will pull all their ships out of the Baltic in order to hopefully sell out the cruises by repositioning them.
She still sails on June and August 2023 4 Baltic cruises.
-
AIS says she sails 28,8 knots, wow..

They have a cruise list on their official homepage
https://www.portofkiel.com/files/pok/Downloads/Kreuzfahrerlisten/Kreuzfahrerliste.pdf
She will get Ostuferhafen LP1

It appears all the original Baltic cruises have now become Norways. Britannia is doing an awful lot of them in 2024. It's a shame they couldn't replace them with something more original. 2024 is basically Iona and Britannia on repetitive Norway and Aurora and Arcadia doing quite a few 12nt Norway. Where has the P&O that used to do all original itinaries with no ship assigned to a specific 'route'? Such a shame.
That is not correct. If you look at the cruises of Britannia, you will notice 5x 14 days gaps between May and September. These gaps were planned to go to the Baltics. And if you compare it with 2023 you will also notice that she also sails 2023 a lot of Norway cruises.

Looks the Baltic has been pulled completely for 2024.
Clearly appropriate to not have St Petersburg on the menu, but a bit surprised that the rest of the Baltic has been pulled. Still so many other lovely places to visit. Oh well...
Nah, I don't think that they wont sail any Baltic cruise, why they should sail 2022 and 2023 there but 2024 not. According to my infos there were 9 Baltic cruises planned for 2024 (5 Britannia, 2 Arcadia, 2 Aurora).

Not sure there has been anything official said but I was told that travel agent sites are now showing the Getaway out of Rome this summer. Her transatlantic has also been canceled so this makes sense.
But if she sails from Rome, why would they cancel her TA on late Nov which already was planned from Rome? That doesn‘t make sense to me..

So maybe it will home-ported in Southampton, like Enchanted Princess.
@Ulsteinvik That's were it will head probably.
Yea but I am pretty sure the Orkney call is an old call from the former planned TA. She is also booked on 19 May 2022 since 1 year in Le Havre but then they modified the TA and the Le Havre call to 07th May 2022. So let's wait and see where we will find Getaway after the 14th June..

Piers for Baltic cruise
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Many Americans take the tour to Berlin but take in mind that the train ride takes about 3 hrs from Warnemunde to Berlin. But I think it's worth it. If it is too long for you then Warnemunde is also a nice little place.
In Kiel a lot of passengers are going to the "Kieler brewery" it is around 5-10 minutes from the quay. I don't like beer but if you like.. 😉
Hamburg is also great but here you have to take a train or bus ride for around 1 hour. I don't know why Carnival stays here only 9 hours when they support Hamburg for this stop.. If you like walking near the ship, then you can go to the "Kiellinie" or you follow the blue line to the town and shopping areas.
