  1. Ive got a question that is a little different, but follows this question, so im dropping it here instead of starting a new topic:

Me, the wife and our 2 kids are sailing next month. One of the kids is my wifes bio kid, but my step-daughter, with a different last name than us. I am currently in the process of formally adopting her, but because of a backed-up court system, we won't get a court date to finalize everything till after the cruise. I do have a copy of the paperwork her bio dad filled out, signing over his rights to me, notarized by our lawyer.

She doesn't have a passport because we have been planning this adoption for almost 2 years now; so would her birth certificate, me and my wifes marriage license showing her maiden name (which is what shows on my daughters birth certificate) and the adoption paperwork signed by her bio dad be enough in my situation?

  2. This forum is bi-polar. Biggest gripe I see here constantly is a lack of chairs available right next to the pools, yet (reading this thread) apparently none of yall even use the pools. So Im not sure why everybody complains about no front row seats at the splash areas of the 'people stew' 😄

  3. I recently had to change a passenger name on my booking and everything that was purchased or reserved under the old name showed up under the new one in my cruise planner.

Granted my issue wasn't a different person, but changing the last name of the same person, so that could have been the reason everything transferred without issue.

  4. I had forgotten about this option, actually. It surprised me today when I had to contact Royal about another issue and at the end they asked me if we wanted our beds together or apart, I assumed I would set that preference during online check-in or something.

They need to add options like that back into the website, I hate having to call for unnecessary things.

  5. I feel ripped off based on these responses; can't even book a half day and the full day is $71/pp and pretty much has been at that price for months.

Screw it, I will just enjoy the free huge pool and beaches. I might have jumped with some of the prices I am seeing on this thread, but they can stuff-it @ $71 a person; thats near double what an actual water park (with way more attractions and slides) charges

  6. Im on Harmony in June and I have never seen the package drop below $52/pp (what I purchased at) and I booked it a year ago!

Also travelling with small children and after doing the math in my head, I still think the package is worth it, even though we obviously dont plan on getting trashed. I like premium coffee and Red Bulls too, both of which are covered, and I can pound quite a few water bottles a day.

All said, the value is there in my opinion.

  7. We were going to sail last Summer, but opted not to because our little one was only 2 years old. All of my research gave the impression that the trip would end up not being very fun for me and my wife, or my daughter. So we booked for this summer instead and I think that was the way to go, she will have so much more activities to enjoy now that shes 3 and we can actually put her in Adventure Ocean on occasion.

  8. The Drink Package is available to use the minute you get on the ship until the time you disembark from the ship (assuming a bar is open to serve, which there most likely will be.).

Even on port days, if you stay on the ship you can enjoy your package. Another note, if your sailing goes to Labadee or Coco Cay, you can actually use your drink package on those islands too since RC owns them.

Real quick question on the prices you all are quoting—just for clarification, these prices are all BEFORE RCI’s ubiquitous 18% profit add on (aka “gratuity”), correct?

Yes. My next cruise is showing $52/pp; for me and my wife, the gratuities add about an extra $131 to the total for 7 nights.

  10. Is the 'obstructed balcony' issue confined mostly to Quantum ships? Or do all ships have a few bad balconies?

Going on the Harmony in June. Currently have inside room, but was hoping I got a Royal Up offer for a OV balcony. Now I am questioning that (considering they pick the room), I can deal with a little obstruction, but the one this post is about is abysmal and I would not even want to chance getting a room like that.

However, rooms like the Aft Balcony on the Freedom (showing in the video above) would be perfectly fine with me, that is an 'obstructed view' that I could get down with.

  11. After reading this thread I think I am going to go ahead and buy the Deluxe package the next time it drops in price. I understand I will probably start suffering from alcohol fatigue towards the end of the cruise, but I could easily get enough out of all the bottled water and premium coffee I will be drinking.

I am frugal as hell all year so that I can have a good vacation....not worrying about a big alcohol bill at the end of my trip will help with that

  12. The price has bounced between $52 and $56 for my June Harmony cruise ever since I booked it over a year ago (though, it may have went down on Black Friday, I didn't check at that time).

I know it aint much, but I am waiting for it to dip into the sub-$50 range before I jump on the Deluxe Beverage, that little bit adds up for two people over 7 nights.
