  1. I'm trying to find out which dock the Celebrity Millennium is going to be berthed at.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

The information is on the Celebrity web site. When you open the itinerary you highlight the day then scroll down to see each days' plan.

You will then travel by deluxe motor coach to Talkeetna and enjoy a beer tasting at a local Brewery. From 6:30 p.m., Talkeetna is yours to discover.  "   So i'd say you probably arrive 4pm - ish in Talkeetna.

Did you realize that this tour doesn't allow enough time at Denali to get INSIDE the park to enjoy the wildlife and scenery?

The itineray says that on June 1 you have the morning free in Talkeetna then you board the train  for Denali.  ( The train leaves at 11:30am and arrives to Denali at 3:40pm.  ) The next day you leave Denali around noon and head to Anchorage.   Yikes !

The only way you will have time for a bus ride thru the park is if you do it on your own ......disembark the train at Denali ( the depot is inside the park), and instead of going to the hotel,  you walk to the bus depot and catch a bus.

After we get off the train it says we will be going on the Natural History Tour in Denali, which is 4 1/2-5 hours long.  We have done the Tundra Tour in the past with Princess.  It says we can book optional excursions following this?  I don't know when they think we'd have time to do this.  I had wanted to do the cruise going up and then doing the land part on our own since this is the second land tour and 3rd cruise to Alaska.  I think I should have stayed with my first instinct and done it on our own.  The good part is that we are staying 3 days after we get back to Anchorage so we will do that on our own and spend a couple of days in Aleyska and do Kenai Fiords cruise, etc.   Thanks for giving us information about train schedule.  It gives us a better idea.

  3. Thanks for your reply.  We are on tour 9A and get into Seward on May 31.  We are suppose to go by bus to Alaska Sea Life Center from the ship and then on to Anchorage by bus and then from Anchorage to Talkeetna for overnight. Does this sound like we would still get into Talkeetna around 4?  The people we have spoken to at Celebrity seem to not be aware of much when it comes to the land part.  Thank you so much for your help

  4. I absolutely hate it when you post something on here and all of a sudden you have people questioning your veracity.  It astounds me!  Hearing comments like "I think it's interesting this is the OP first post, and I smell something fishy"?  If it wasn't your experience fine but it was others.  I posted a warning a month ago and then was attacked for the warning.  Geez, no good deed goes unpunished sometimes.  I want to hear the good and not so good, experiences, excursions, favorite places and favorite ships, etc.  Not everything is a conspiracy.  There, that's my 2 cents.

  5. Will the Millennium have the panorama heated tile loungers like Edge rather than just the ones in the older Persian gardens?  We were told when we booked that the Millennium would be exactly like Edge.  From the drawings it does't look like it to me.  I'm hoping I'm wrong.  We will be taking it to Alaska and were looking forward to enjoying this.  Also I've heard that in Blu now you can't order from the Main Dining room anymore????  Thanks in advance

  6. We are wondering if anyone has done a post cruise land tour with Celebrity.  We are due to go from Seward to Anchorage to Talkeetna on May 31.  We are getting no guidance from Celebrity as to timetables.  We'd like to know what time we get to the Talkeetna Lodge to see if there is time to schedule any activity.  TIA

  7. BIG_G.   Yes, it actually does disappoint me that you come from law enforcement  (if that's true).  Maybe a crossing guard???  I come from a family of law enforcement (actual law enforcement) who encouraged me to post to warn fellow cruisers.  Put on your yellow vest and go out there and help school kids cross the street.

  8. I have called Marriott and spoken to the Asst. to CEO and guess what?  Got the matter resolved.  You may not got the actual CEO but if the assistant can get it done that's all I cared about.  If you don't ask you don't get anywhere.

This posting was meant to be a warning.  If you don't like it pass on it.  I'm not interested in your opinions about taking the matter farther up the line.  Someone said "I don't know what you expect them to do from a phone call"?  This brain trust is suggesting what that  I send smoke signals?  The call is to make them aware that there is a problem and they know our cabin and know who the cabin steward is and they will start an investigation.,   This is why a lot of people don't like to post because the sniping begins.  No good deed goes unpunished.  Some people just need to get a life..

  9. We were on the February 15th Anthem of the Seas cruise and when we got back my husband home he noticed a great many of his pain medication was missing!  His medication was buried within his clothing in the closet.  My Granddaughter had mentioned that her clothes in her drawers were not in the same place that he left it.  At the time we just assumed she was mistaken.  My husband contacted Royal Caribbean and the call was less than satisfactory and she said they would look into it.  When my husband asked to be connected to the CEO he was told he couldn't be reached by phone????  Be warned take any medication and lock it up in your safe. Wish we would have done that.  It's disappointing that you can't count on the cabin being safe while you are out of it.  I am very disgusted with Royal Caribbean   We are Diamond Plus but this unfortunately left us with a different opinion of the company since this theft.

  10. Make sure you have the money for the bus or tokens for the return trip if you go by taxi. It is very hard to get a taxi to come to a destination that is that close to the dockyard as they don't get that much in fares compared to further areas. We have had problems the last 2 years getting back from H20 waterspouts.

  11. Our dining experience in the MDR last month on Summit was great The food and service were excellent. We are going again in a week and this time on Aqua class and will go to Blu and try that. We are glad that we can still order from MDR menu if Blu isn't to our taste. We had the largest lobster tails ever on any ship on the Summit. Very satisfied

  12. We did this excursion two years ago and it was quite apparent it was going to rain and they still left the dock and said they had warnings about lightening in the area and if there was they were going to have to turn around. 5 mins. out it started to pour and sure enough the lightening started. No turn around. When we finally got there with wind, rain and lightening, it let up a bit and they dropped anchor and we snorkeled and they were very restrictive where you could go as it is on a rocky piece of land with houses right above and they said a lady didn't want anyone snorkeling by her house. Consequently, it was packed with people from the boat in the limited area and it was all churned up. Upon our return we went to customer service and they refunded the money after talking to others that were on the boat. The next day we rented a boat and stopped by the same area and the snorkeling was good and we were the only ones there. Can't do anything about the weather but they were warned and never should have gone out. This was a cruise excursion

  14. When we were there a couple of years ago there was a lot of debris in the water and the only place we saw a man of war. Of course, it depends on the current and time of years, but was unappealing at that time. It was not far from the Vixen.

  15. All these naysayers who weren't on the ship but feel qualified to comment on what these passengers went through are incredibly ridiculous. Meanwhile they'd be soiling themselves if they lived it. I believe these people and if other ships stayed out of harms way the BA could have too.
