I was excited to try a new beach in Antigua and saw that Darkwood got some good reviews so I was disappointed by this beach. The facilities are not great to say the least. The wooden structure with basically a tarp over it ( think cheap palapa) that are constructed to be so short as to keep hitting your head when getting up! We waited forever to get our lunch and had to ask them about our food twice before we got it and then the pulled pork sandwich didn't offer much. The beach was ok but nothing compared to Valley church beach which is close by. The bathroom is disgusting ! Changing rooms are outhouse like and rickety. The cab we got going back actually stopped at valley church beach and it was even better than we remembered. The facilities are so much better while retaining a sweet clean restaurant and nice umbrellas and loungers Anyway, presently to n the Anthem of the Seas and just want to give you an honest opinion Wish we would have gone back to valley church beach. Also, snorkeling was non existent and believe me, I looked.

The reef they take you to at Buck's Island is so barren, it's ridiculous. This is a prime example of dead reef. The turtle stop is not great either. We saw a small turtle and not much else. Plus you had to walk about 3/4 of a mile to the snorkel boat and the same back. It was not a good excursion at all, in my opinion. We have snorkeled everywhere and this was the worst I have ever seen. The guide was a National Geographic rep and she kept going on about what we were going to see and when I started to tell her about the reef condition, she changed her tune. It was quite apparent it was decimated. Just so you are prepared if you choose to go

Has anyone recently used the Fun Factory for their kids. We will be traveling with a 9 year old and 11 y.o. We are hoping that they find it to be fun but would like to hear about others recent experiences. TIA

Does anyone know if a taxi will take you down the long driveway area from the road down to the beach area. We have taken scooters many times down to the beach but my husband can't ride the scooter this year. I never noticed if cars went down this sharp descent . Do taxi's charge the same for children?

The ship is gorgeous and very crowded. We just saw We Will Rock You and it was great. At almost 2 hours, I usually would start planning my exit but this is a show not to be missed. It's a bit rocky today at sea. There are a lot of kids in the solarium pool due to cool weather which is fine but parents need to really watch the little ones. The pool was like a wave pool. The food at Chic was not great other than the crab cakes. In my opinion. Food is very subjective but tonight is Grand and we ate breakfast there this morning due to overflow from Chic. It's a beautiful, elegant room and I'm sure we will enjoy it tonight. It really is a stunningly beautiful ship with terraced pools aft and another sight to behold around practically every corner. I love the $15 day unlimited internet package. Must get ready for dinner

How easy is it to get a table for 2 in classic early dining? This will be our first time on Anthem. We are Diamond Plus, but I remember last sailing it wasn't that easy to get the seating we wanted. We need some time to decompress lol
