My bet is 2 of the 15 per day were charged for each double. That is how it works for me. If they didn’t the bar manager would having a conversation with that bar since the bottle count would not match up with drinks charged

Oh  I know they were counted as two. It was just nice of them to allow it. We truly enjoy our happy hours. cheers!

  2. We cruised last month on the Sky Princess. We did a tour and they stopped at a Larimar lab. I purchased some earrings. They were not the best quality but they are nice. I was surprised that there were not more vendors or stores selling it. They work well with the necklace I have. We most likely will not ever go back to DR.

**my travel agent contacted Princess … we are flying into IAH a day before (Feb. 17)using EZ air. they are doing a shuttle to Galveston the day before and we have reservations at the Courtyard on Galveston. Then a transfer from the hotel to the ship. This is our first time cruising out of Galveston. I am very relieved!

We booked our own fligths to arrive the day before our Galveston cruise.  We're spending the night at the Marriott IAH airport.  We've done this before.  There is a tram that stops at each baggage claim and at the hotel.  Very easy and free.  Some take a shuttle to an off-site hotel but we prefer to stay at the Marriott.  Just makes things simpler.

We did this when we were on a Princess cruise where we booked a princess transfer the morning of the cruise.  Princess used the Marriott as their pickup point for transfers to the port.  When we checked in, we were given baggage tags for the transfer and told to leave our bags in the room.  The transfer included bag pickup.  We went down to breakfast where we met several people who were also on the same cruise.  The Princess rep assigned us to a bus for the transfer.

This went so smooth wife insisted on staying at the Marriott again this time although we're on a different cruise line.  We're also booking a private transfer.

Thank you for the information! We are also looking at the Marriott. This is a first for us out of Galveston. We usually go out of Ft Lauderdale. It’s fun to try new places.

Are you arriving a day before the cruise departs?

If so, the cruise lines don't do transfers except on departure days.

You can book a room near the airport and shuttle back on departure day and then get a cruise line transfer.

We just ran into this - flying in the day before - wouldnt let us book the transfer so we are staying at an airport hotel and will transfer to Galveston the day of the cruise.

  6. Our September 2020 cruise to Hawaii was cancelled in May. We had used a FCD bought in Feb. 2019 on a cruise to book the trip. I had an email after the cancellation stating I would receive double. The refund date was extended from two years to three years. When we booked our next cruise a couple weeks ago we found our $200 FCD (my husbands and mine) was now worth $400 towards our newly booked cruise. We also received on board credit of $25 each. I am very happy with this. Hopefully we will be sailing in Nov. 2021.

I’d order the bottled water for your room.  Less than $8 for 12 bottles- you must prepurchase and  can buy more than 1.  Then, I’d probably get the coffee card for unlimited brewed coffee.  I am not a big drinker so I would do pay as you go for drinks.

I agree...we get the packaged bottled water delivered. If there are a lot of ports it’s hard to drink your money’s worth on port days, other days not so much. Therefore the drink package might not be cost effective. I have filled my water bottle onboard. I didn’t think the water was so bad but the bottled water is nice to take on excursions.

If you want to go on the tour,  leave any valuables in your cabin's safe.

There's a bit of insight on Trip Advisor.....some folks were turned away for wearing sneakers.

Thanks for the update. While it sounds interesting we will most likely pass.

It's a working brewery, not a Disneyfied representation....all of the restrictions are for your safety. It's a fine tour, but I'd rather spend the day on Stone Island riding horses on the beach. (Maria's Happy Horses to be exact)

I agree about the safety of the restrictions...I just am concerned about my valuables...do you leave everything on the ship? I am not looking for Disney or riding horses...I would stay in Montana for that.
