I purchased a can of soda on our first cruise - never again - it tasted horrible - it had been bottled in another country and the taste was way off - take your own and enjoy!

We watched a video in the theatre on the making of the Canal. If you get a chance watch it. It had a lot of information. It was a check on my bucket list too!!! Enjoy

They usually have mask making during the afternoon proceeding the main party held in the Piazza with dancing. The had beignets served one year and of course a line dance at the end.
Oh I hope they have beignets! sweet Lord they are delicious! I cannot wait!

We are sailing on the Ruby Princess Feb 25th. We will be on the ship for Fat Tuesday. Do they do anything special - Mardi gras party etc. Looking forward to the cruise and celebration - Let the Good times Roll!
-
Thank you! Sounds so good!

Are Mimosas available on board? Would love them with breakfast or brunch, or lunch or....

We did a 17 day canal transit. I looked at my wife and asked if she had packed the camera. She just looked back and said she thought I had packed it. D'Oh! At least the phone takes good pictures but the camera would definitely have been better to have. The next cruise we both double checked to make sure we had it along.
I packed a camera then drowned it in my bag:( glad my friend took lots of pics. On our Panama Canal I took two cameras, my phone & iPad along with battery charger. Lots of memories!!

We have cruised both Princess and Norwegian. I prefer Princess. When we walked onto the Norwegian Jewel I was disappointed. there is not a big Atrium & staircase :(. that was just for starters. The drinks are nothing special - oh they have a special for the day but not good. The entertainment was good but so is princesses. the food was fine on Norwegian but I am not picky - like I have said before - I don't have to cook or cleanup. I am just happy to be sailing. When I start complaining its time to find a new vacation!

We are sailing on the Ruby in Feb. So looking forward to it - I don't have to cook, make my bed, pick up my towels or anything :) Hey if the food isn't very good I wont gain any weight. Bonus!

Another thread mentioned a $49 for all photos taken of you during the cruise. Is that available on the Ruby?
We are on the Feb 25 Ruby Mexican Riviera. I checked 2 nights ago and the special was $99 for all photos and flash drive. It was a pe-order so I grabbed it. I figured it would pay for itself.

Oops just saw your other thread saying the pub lunch is gone!!
-
I am also curious about the pub lunch!! We love it and have heard it's gone. Booo!

The specialty restaurants are a really nice way to spent. We also like to have a beer or something with our lunch and wine with dinner. If you don't drink alcohol then a beverage card or coffee card would be a nice treat. I also like to browse the shops on board. Enjoy!

We also were able to get milkshakes for a small fee at the soft serve counter on the Ruby.

We like being High and Forward. I/We like opening the balcony door, especially at sea, and hearing the bow crash the waves. For some it is to much movement, but for us we really like it.
We will be in A214 (Aloha 214) very first room port side deck 12 on Wednesday 28 Dec. We will be getting there first
Hope this helps in your quest for the best!

We were on the Coral last year and booked an Aloha balcony / 1st room on starboard side. We loved it!!! This was a Panama Canal cruise and a great place to see it all. Robert was the room steward and did an awesome job of taking care of us. We will request the same room if we sail on the Coral again!!
-
We have been to both. We did a all inclusive beach day in Costa Maya - weather wasn't great but food, drinks and massage were good. In Honduras we spent the day in the port area - wish we had planned a beach or snorkeling day. Both have nice port areas.
-
On our last cruise our very helpful room steward left extra tubes of it for me the day before departure. I am sure he enjoyed the tip we left before that. Very nice guesture on his part too! Love the lotion.

Was there one or two pub lunches? They are yummy! We had two on the Panama Canal!
-
we sailed on the Coral last year to the Panama Canal. Our room was A209 (aloha) the very first cabin after the bridge. We LOVED it. There was no noise what so every from the Horizon Court above. We had the best seat in the house for the canal (IMHO). We will ask for it again for our next Canal cruise!
-
they now sell a case of water pre-cruise - around $6. I ordered one - its a lot easier as we fly in.
-
We were on the Coral last Oct. You can wear capri's with nice tops except for formal night. The men are a different story - only collared shirts (they sent one older gentleman away :( also no jeans on formal night.
-
I use it some of the time - I usually pack a small bottle or each and throw them away when we leave - more room in the luggage coming home. It isn't too bad but I think it depends on your hair type
-
They also fill the ice bucket in the fridge and I fill my bottle with that.
Reason for problems with $99 pre-purchase photo package on some cruises

I checked mine also and the banner was gone. I clicked on the photos picture and it came up for the $99 price. I had already purchased it when the banner was on it but was wondering if it was still being offered.
