Hi Ken,  I will be on the Rhapsody in March.  Do you know if Pickleball is always on their schedule.  I didn’t know whether to pack my paddle or not.

i was recently on the Independence of the Seas and they offer Pickleball on port days.  Didn’t make much sense to me since we had plans on those days.

Not sure if it is on the schedule but I asked the sports people if we could set up a net and he was ok with it.

  2. I am an avid pickleball player in Maryland. We started a pickleball association in Howard County, MD and now have over 700 active players in the state. We host the senior Olympics every year in Ellicott City, MD We have 8 dedicated pickleball courts that were built by the county and our home owners association for 60K. I will be playing with a number of beginners on the Rhapsody of the Seas on a singles cruise

  3. The problem with Cats is that the average cruiser wants Broadway shows that are middle of the road and not ones like Cats. Traditional "boy meets girl" boy loses girl and boy gets girl back has been the staple of successful shows on Broadway. West Side Story would be ideal if RCCL could get the rights to it. I saw Chicago at sea and I thought the did a fabulous job although some of the themes were not for young children

It would say Pickleball, it is a different sport than dodgeball.  I have written to RC but I have not heard back from them.  Some ships have it.  Since we will be on the Adventure for 20 days would like to make sure we can get some games in.  Thanks for your help.

Princess had specific times and correct nets for pickleball every day in the basketball court

Nice!  Sounds like a loyal customer who is paying a significant amount on board already - exactly who I would comp a lunch  for if I was in charge.  Keep good loyal customers happy 🙂

Have a great trip! Is it your 50th birthday?  If so - happy birthday!

70th Birthday! With all the changes on RCCL over the past 3o years I still would only chose RCCL for my birthday cruise.

Or they could be extending you a courtesy for booking a large group?  Could you have negotiated a different perk for your group?

First, I am paying for all the cabins, just a way to thank people for being supportive of me for the past 50 years. Second, My AAA travel agent has gotten me a lot of other perks, a bottle of wine in each cabin, along with the two bottles we can bring on board, $100 credit on each cabin, separate check in, private party, $600 rebate from  the AAA credit card and the best one dinner with the captain or another crew member in a formal night. I also will become a diamond member of my February cruise on the ROS which will qualify me for free drinks every night.

You will become Diamond on your first cruise after the Feb cruise. Your three free drinks are loaded onto your Sea Pass card. They can only be used during the "happy hour" (the same time the DL offers free drinks), and can be used in pretty much any bar. As for the MDR, that varies from ship-to-ship and sometimes even sailing-to-sailing.

Is that three free drinks every day? I am not a heavy drinker so that will save me a great deal of cash
