I have used Flights by Celebrity numerous times.  The only changes I've had is if the time slightly changes or the change the plane type.  I have never had a major change.  Thankfully.

I luckily always get through right away.   I haven't had to call since November so I don't know current wait times.

I think part of our issue was due to covid some flights were being completely cancelled and I also think there may have been an end to a codeshare agreement between Delta (which Flights by Celebrity works with) and Westjet (Canadian Company) so when the codeshare ended Delat couldn't use those flights anymore.

From my readings here on CC, there are two advantages of Flights by Celebrity

    (1) You can pay over time and have up to you curises final payment date to pay for the flights and cruise

(2). Like shore excursions, Celebrity ensures that you will arrive at the ship in order to sail.

    Hi

The prices are actually sometimes better than you can get from the airline directly

    1)  Just FYI, from what I understand until Final payment is made there is no absolute guarantee that the flight you booked through Flights by Celebrity is the one you get- the airline can change and it is up to you to let Celebrity know (unless it is close to sail date) otherwise you may get stuck with bad flights. Our flights were changed by the airlines several times (I was able to check using the airline confirmation code on the airlines website and I checked every week 3 starting about 5 months prior to my cruise) while the Flights by Celebrity still had my original flights website .  By the time I made Final payment my roundtrip direct flights from YYZ to MIA had changed to connector flights with wonderful 4 hour layovers each way in LGA and also they booked me on 2 different flights on disembarkation day,  both at 7AM;  one that would strand me in ATL and the other with the 4 hour layover in LGA.  We were able to change the flight to a makable 11:20AM (still too early).

Although I have never been cut off each call to Flights by Celebrity is a 1-2 hour wait.

MANY awesome Australian ( among other countries) wines now with screw caps....yum...

Yes, I have many very nice bottles of wine from mainly New World regions that are Screwtops; I remember about 10-15  years ago there a push to try to get more wineries to adopts non-cork bottles but it seemed to have died off a little; maybe I am wrong..  I read somewhere  there is a billionaire family whose entire fortune is pretty much based on that they have nearly a monopoly on the cork market in Italy.

I like a lanyard for use on the ship (not off the ship) even if I keep it in a pocket I have found it makes it much harder to lose the card.

Same here, I put my seacard  in my Habs or Raptors lanyard while on the ship- signals vacation time for me! It can be a hassle if posing for pictures and may look tacky to some but I just prefer it to digging around in my pockets and I really don't care what others may think.

  5. Hello

With all the expert cruisers on the forum here maybe someone can help me with the below query.  This was a booking made directly  Celebrity website for 5 night cruise.

Just wondering what package my daughter will get according to the code on the invoice, highlighted yellow below.  Would it be standard Non-alcoholic or is it a Kids Bev Package?  180/5 nights seems pretty pricey even in CAD for a non-alcoholic bev package. Thanks

  6. Good luck on your April cruise.  Yes, not having the results in hand and into the arrivecan app and making our flight home is what I fear I will be stressing about if we go on this cruise.  First world problems but we usually take a couple of trips a year so we are/were really looking forward to this trip after not having been outside the GTA since summer 2019.   I was just talking to my daughter this morning and she literally hasn’t been outside a 15km radius beyond our house in the last 26 months.

  7. Hi Albertacruisers

thanks for info.   Does Constellation port out of MIA?   I read through the earlier thread and couldn‘t see your timings,  I know you were probably on one of the 1st cruises doing the port side testing so things may have been messier but Approx how long did it take you to get through the testing and get the results?  Were the results by email or paper? Did you make an appointment for the testing onboard?  We have the 11:55 flight out of FLL so are concerned about timing considering this is a March Break cruise for a CAD.   If we decide to go I really do not want to stress over the testing in addition to everyth8ng else during the entire cruise!

  8. Thanks for info folks.   I am pretty sure I purchased as cheap as possible so my aunt fare was non-refundable.   My 60 day window is today so have to decide to keep the reservation and hope for the best with the security of the CWC or just cancel.  I will call Celebrity to check ( I didn’t use a TA) although my experience has been the phone folks sometimes give wrong info.

  9. Hello

Today is my final payment date for our long planned Mar 14  cruise and am looking for information on wether there has been any feedback on the turnaround time for the PCR test?  Just re-read the website and it looks like it is no longer offered on board but rather at the pier!  We are from Canada so need a PCR test to return and my original 4pm return flight cancelled and was autorebooked by airline  to 7am (way too early as ship is just docking) and only flight that was offered by Flights by Celebrity was a 11:55 am so I am concerned on the timing of all this.  This cruise is during the Ontario March break so traditionally this cruise would have quite a few Canadians but with all the restrictions things may be different.

any feedback on the PCR test timings would be appreciated, thanks!

  10. Thanks, so if it is $30 pp for this does that mean you have to pay the difference like Chops is $42 & Jamies is $35 OR is this just a flat $30 charge??

You do not pay for any difference. Like an earlier poster stated we got Chops on night 1 and Jamie's on night 2. I checked once we boarded at at wonderland and were able to finagle a change from Jamie's to Wonderland on night 3. If you change to Izumi you get 30$ crediit at the restaurant. Strangely enough we did not get the note in our cabin about our BOGO restaurants until AFTER turndown on night 1.

  11. i saw on the website the restriction on fortified wines, beer and liquor but does anyone know regarding bringing on ice wine? In the past I had brought vintage port on board but with fortified wine now on the no-go list I was thinking about ice wine instead. With the smaller bottle I can see some confusion here. Any experience people have had would be appreciated. Thanks.

  12. Just FYI, I have booked the BOGO for our upcoming Anthem cruise and do not see anywhere in the booking page or after the fact which venues are Eligible. All it says is you will be booked at 2 specialty restaurants on night 1 and 2 at your preferred time. The fine print also mentions that at a la carte restaurants you will receive a 30$ credit per diner. So got Anthem I do not see any venue inclusion or exclusion list.

The consensus of the boards seems to be that what usually happen on Anthem is you get dinner at Chops and Jamie's. Many posters have indicated that upon boarding you can request a change of venues or even dates, as you attempted to do, and usually Wonderland seems to be eligible. But I think these changes are subject to availability and the mood of the employee so there is no Wonderland guarantee. That does not mitigate the rudeness of the hostess at the restaurant though.

I have learned to always request a paper confirmation of everything, even though I get the roll of the eyes. At minimal get a screenshot of the page if they can't give you a paper copy.

  13. We were able to book on a different night as long as we reserved it on the FIRST night. Is that not still the case? Things change moment to moment but we were on Freedom and booked Chops first night and were then allowed to book Giovanni's for night 3.

Recent posts seem to indicate that if you go to the specialty dining desk at embarkation and check your reservations they may be willing to change venues and dates. However these were for larger ships where there were more specialty venues than just 2.

  14. Checking the cruise planner for our Anthem cruise and Solarium Bistro shows up as reservable specialty dining for dinner. The sample menu looks extensive with a lot of healthy variety. But I don't see any cover charge and it isn't listed as a la carte. So is it complimentary? Is the menu the "right" menu being shown? I seem to recall that on the Oasis class it has a cover charge.

  15. a 2 yo has no business being in a specialty dining venue.

Ahh the grouchy CC 'er who scours the boards searching for keywords like "infant" and "dining" ( and probably "wearing casual to formal night..." and "gratuity") so they can add to their number of posts to show what an expert they are on cruising etiquette circa 1930's.

My daughter has cruised every year starting at 8 months and has enjoyed every dinner whether MDR, buffet or any specialty. Never a fuss, never a complaint from anyone, many conversations and compliments from fellow diners; if she even started to fuss we would have taken her out. All depends on the child and the parents awareness and common courtesy. Last I heard RCCL was a family cruise line.

To the OP, even leaving a 2 year old alone in a cabin, even for a few minutes, is NOT a good idea. Leaving the infant alone while going out for an extended dinner would be negligence, sorry. So no baby monitors!
