  1. In the process of booking our flights and got a great deal on an 11:55AM flight out of MCO on a Saturday coming off the Fantasy. I figure we can get one of the earlier groupings and get off the ship by say 8:30 at the airport by say 10 and 1.5 hours to get through security. Of course anything can go wrong but how is my timing? Is it possible. The thought of a 2pm flight that has a 3 hour layover with a 3 year old is not very exciting.

Secondly does it make more sense to use Disney transportation vs a shuttle of some sort. I thought I read someplace that depending on the airline (flying United) we might be able to leave our bags out on the last night and then see them when we land back home.

    Thoughts.?????

  2. We are sailing on the Fantasy in April. I was looking into the picture packages, can anyone explain them a bit better.

If I purchase the "all photo's on USB drive" package, does that include prints made on the ship with the disney borders etc? If not it might make more sense for us to purchase the 20 pictures because that seems to be printed pics?

    Am I reading this correctly?

Obviously being able to have the digital photo is beneficial but I also like the prints printed on board.

  3. After doing some research on these boards, I like the idea of staying at the Hyatt Airport and taking the Disney bus to the ship. Where can I find information about the Disney transportation? I looked online at my reservations but can't seem to find the transportation link. We are not traveling until April of 2018 perhaps it is just too early??

Also is there any other options for Hotels near the airport? Our group consists of Me, wife 3.5 year old and Father in law. We are arriving in the afternoon of the day prior to the cruise. Thought it might be easiest to just stay at the airport so we don't have to worry about transportation to a hotel, then to the ship and back again to the airport after the cruise. When I learned that the Hyatt was attached to the airport I figured that would be perfect.

  4. I have been watching Youtube videos getting excited for our Fantasy Cruise next spring. I have noticed a couple of videos have a "welcome call from Mickey" I was wondering if this is something that can be set up with through Disney when the documents arrive pre-cruise or is it a vendor that makes the call? It might be fun for our 3 year old.

  5. Thanks for the tips. The good news is he will only eat what he is used to. It is very hard to get him to try new stuff and he really eats pasta, veggies and chicken. We are trying to get him to eat new things but it is coming along very slowly. If you give him a cookie or ice cream it is like you are trying to poison him LOL. I wish I had the same reaction....

We are not cruising till next spring so anything can change by then.

  6. Just booked our first Disney Cruise. Have cruised many times in the past just not Disney and now we have a 3 year old son. It is time to expose him to the amazing world of cruising. That being said the little guy is very allergic to nuts. I would imagine this is nothing new to the crew but I was wondering if there is a special wristband or something that alerts the crew of the allergy.

    Any feedback would be welcome.

  7. We are just in the planning stage for a Disney Cruise next year. We live on the West Coast thinking of flying in a couple of days early to plan a trip to the space center then board the ship the next day. Any recommendations? Are the two areas close enough to use the same hotel for 2 nights instead of moving hotels. Mom and Dad traveling with 3 year old bringing Grandpa and 5 year old cousin. We live 20 minutes from Disneyland and will be on a Disney cruise so spending time at the Disney parks might be overload for the kids and dad!! LOL

  8. Forgive me if this has been asked and answered but....

We are taking the quick weekend trip on the Inspiration this weekend. My wife and I will just be packing one suitcase for the 2 of us. Having not sailed out of Long Beach yet we were wondering if we can just walk on with the bag?

Also wondering if the cabins are available as soon as we board or do we explore for a while before they are available. That will obviously have an impact of whether we walk on with the bag or let it magically show up in our cabin later in the day?

  9. With the new all you can drink package I was wondering if the other package was still available? I generally drink Soda/Bottled water and have no desire to spend $50 per day to enjoy only a couple of "adult beverages" throughout the week.

Leaving on the Royal in 2 weeks....

  10. We took the water taxi 2 years ago when we were there the taxi stop is on the property so very close walk. We got off at one of the stops and there was a festival/ farmers market going on and there were several places to eat there I think we ended up at Cheesecake Factory or TGIF.

Worked out well as the water taxi takes you around to look at the amazing homes in the area. If I remember correctly if you wait until after 3 or 5pm it was like $5-10 each to ride as much as you wanted. I might be a bit off on the details but I know it was very inexpensive.

  11. Need a bit of help. I was able to find a flight that will save my wife and I about $300 total if we fly from California into PBI. The question is we are leaving the next day out of Fort Lauderdale. We already have a hotel lined up so that is not the issue.

Can anyone tell me the distance and approximate cost to get from the PBI airport to the hotel in FLL? The return flight is out of Miami and I have made that trip several times just never to PBI???

    Thanks for the help...

  12. We have friends cruising out of Los Angeles and had a question…. It is pretty clear that you can bring a bottle of wine on board but has anybody brought a bottle of hard liquor on board in LA? I would think one bottle would not be an issue??

  13. We are arriving 4/12 for a pre-cruise night on the Royal. Last time we stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 and it was very nice.

I was looking at the Holiday Inn and it looks to be close in proximity to the Hyatt and with my rewards points I can get a room for under $50.

Does anyone have any experience with the facility? Would like to ride the water taxi, grab a bite and get some sleep we are coming from the West Coast so we want to be well rested for our voyage....

Clean, quite rooms, someplace to grab a bite to eat and close to the port is what we are looking for???

  14. Waaaahooo we are getting close.... flying out tomorrow from LAX for our April 30 Equinox Cruise. In looking over the documents I had a question regarding the currency conversion.

My capital one credit card does not charge conversion fees so does that mean i should choose the option that allows my cc company to do the conversion? We are US citizens so does this even matter if it says the currency on the ship is in USD???

  15. First of all congrats on the engagement I am sure the wedding planning book is filling up quickly for you!

My fiancé and I are taking this same cruise (except on the Equinox) in roughly 98 days! We are in full wedding mode and it was amazing to take a quick break and switch to HONEYMOON mode. I stumbled across your post on Saturday and I couldn't stop reading it. Nicole read it quicker than me and whenever I disappeared over the weekend with my IPad she just laughed when I said I am waiting for the proposal! LOL I asked her to marry me on a cruise last year as we were sailing out of Ft Lauderdale and had pictures and video taken without here knowing so trust me those pictures you have are priceless!

I have actually copied many of your comments to use in my honeymoon document ( not quite the book you had but nonetheless a document) We are cruise veterans but new to X and we can't wait. Getting married on 4/13/13 here in Southern California then flying to London on 4/25 for a day, then to Paris for a day then on to Barcelona for a day before boarding the ship. I know, I know not nearly enough time but work, vacation time and money prohibit longer stays.. And we can sleep when we are dead!

I am so happy I did not find your post till now or I would have been going crazy waiting for the next installment glad to be able to read it all!

Thank you thank you thank you and congrats!!!
