Than you! I know it’s small but enough savings for me to get the drink package and my excursions and still have spare change left over. And otherwise I’d spend too much time in the room as opposed to exploring the ship and that’s why I booked Harmony!

Thank you for posting this question.  I  am booked into an ocean view solo cabin in June and was extremely concerned about smoke infiltration into my cabin.I am delighted to read the responses to your questions addressing this issue.

Within my budget, the solo cabin size is trade I can live with and have more chips at the gaming tables.

I am on deck 4 and wonder if the window will be obstructed by the life boats.  Do you know what the situation might be?

    Thanks.

We have just returned from P.C  we went out RCC and parked at their

garage. It was $85 for 5 days.  easy easy easy.  We did a

shuttle last year for Carnival. Park N Cruise. That was also easy, but

there was four ships in port that day so it was a long wait for a shuttle.

They are very organized just along wait, and standing. People were very

nice. The return was easy, shuttle waiting with a representative directioning

you. But you do have to wait for shuttle to fill up.  if you don't mind waiting

    you save more than half.

Thanks for that good info. I checked the port cruise schedule and see that on June 14 when we get back, Harmony is the only ship in port that morning so I may go that route. Ports parking would be $170 for me.

    Thanks again.

I don't agree about t-shirts and trainers because they are defenitely worn everywhere in Europe. Shorts are worn by tourists but most locals in southern Europe don't wear shorts.

Baseball caps is a big NO, I think. Grown ups with baseball caps looks supersilly!

But if you want to wear baseball caps, do it. Don't care too much what other people think. Wear what YOU want!

I agree.  I think in many circumstances, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between some Europeans and a North American. I see I Love NY, Hard Rock Cafe, Italy Rules  hats, Union Jack and such all over Europe worn by Europeans.

Being exhausted after visiting a port is subjective, just like some people are pooped after mowing their lawn.

  4. When we did Viking, we could book our excursions as much as we wanted to as long as the excursion was paid for. No limit.

I would be very careful to give myself some time to make the connection. Consider that there may be unforeseen conflicts that could prohibit making the excursion on time.  That is really your only issue.

Thanks for sharing and glad to know everything worked out for you.  Having been to Japan many times, we have never experienced any type of crime there...and the Japanese are downright polite.  When I first read your post, we were guessing perhaps your luggages were simply taken by mistake.  Again, thank you for sharing.

  6. We used National Express directly from Heathrow to the South Hampton Station. From there ,it was a quick Taxi to our hotel for a good rest before the next days  Departure. The line was quite comfortable and reasonably priced and we never had to touch our luggage,  It was a good choice for us i'd say and recommend it

  7. Well, I guess this is some progress knock on wood.

Our friend reported that he opened the case again, went through the contents just to double check that all was well.  It was so we'll see.

I got an Email verifying that the Luggage package was taken back to the FedX shipping office and was in transit. WooHoo.

But when I checked the tracking number out. so far, this package is stiil at NRT. HMMMM?

  8. UPDATE

It turns out that the police's idea of

'"returned to us" has a different meaning in Japan than it does to me.

What they meant to say was that they had released my luggage to a fellow that works at the same company in Tokyo as my wife does here in the US and that he is the person that was to ship it on to us which he did through a courior company in Tokyo called TNT which operates in the US

Left an expensive camera in the waiting area for a ship's excursion.  We figured it was long gone.  Came back to the ship and it had been turned in, thank goodness.  By a passenger, no less.

I don't remember when or which ship but we were on a snorkeling excursion and the tour people warned us not to wear rings in the water.  They told us that salt water can make your fingers shrink just enough for the rings to come off.

Never mind it can look  like having the hand look like a fishing lure either.

It's wonderful you got that camera back.

  10. Nothing will every match home cooking when it is done right.

If you know how the cruise food is before you book, why complain if you don't enjoy it when you knew in advance it was not going  to meet your standard. For some people, it is a given that buffet food can suck and the food usually cool, the scrambled eggs run and bacon is greasy. Surprise!
