  1. So do I. A super bug will put everyone in quarantine.
  2. That's why it's important to have a good immune system. We all hold hand rails, push buttons and sit in chairs.
  3. I agree. I think in many circumstances, it is almost impossible to tell the difference between some Europeans and a North American. I see I Love NY, Hard Rock Cafe, Italy Rules hats, Union Jack and such all over Europe worn by Europeans. Being exhausted after visiting a port is subjective, just like some people are pooped after mowing their lawn.
  4. I wish you luck and a fast track to make your flight. With the fastest private transportation available to you, still hope that nobody is texting or brushing their hair while driving and has a collision stopping a few lanes of the traffic.
  5. When we did Viking, we could book our excursions as much as we wanted to as long as the excursion was paid for. No limit. I would be very careful to give myself some time to make the connection. Consider that there may be unforeseen conflicts that could prohibit making the excursion on time. That is really your only issue.
  6. Wonders of wonders! Home At last! My recovered luggage has been returned to me. The only thing missing is my 5 mini bottles of rum taken out during a search to see if all of the potentially dangerous objects were removed.
  7. We used National Express directly from Heathrow to the South Hampton Station. From there ,it was a quick Taxi to our hotel for a good rest before the next days Departure. The line was quite comfortable and reasonably priced and we never had to touch our luggage, It was a good choice for us i'd say and recommend it
  8. Well, I guess this is some progress knock on wood. Our friend reported that he opened the case again, went through the contents just to double check that all was well. It was so we'll see. I got an Email verifying that the Luggage package was taken back to the FedX shipping office and was in transit. WooHoo. But when I checked the tracking number out. so far, this package is stiil at NRT. HMMMM?
  9. TNT has notified this friend that the shipment he dropped off for us is being stopped and RETURNED to him because of suspicous content in the package. I have no idea what they are talking about except maybe rum mini bottles! And here we go again.
  10. UPDATE It turns out that the police's idea of '"returned to us" has a different meaning in Japan than it does to me. What they meant to say was that they had released my luggage to a fellow that works at the same company in Tokyo as my wife does here in the US and that he is the person that was to ship it on to us which he did through a courior company in Tokyo called TNT which operates in the US
  11. Never mind it can look like having the hand look like a fishing lure either. It's wonderful you got that camera back.
  12. At this point all I know is once it was lost and now it's found No pun intended. . Details, I don't really care about.
  13. Nothing will every match home cooking when it is done right. If you know how the cruise food is before you book, why complain if you don't enjoy it when you knew in advance it was not going to meet your standard. For some people, it is a given that buffet food can suck and the food usually cool, the scrambled eggs run and bacon is greasy. Surprise!
  14. An update on my previous post. Our luggage and all of its' contents has been recovered by the police in Tokyo and is being forwarded to us almost 3 weeks later to SC USA , so disregard my first post.
  15. I don"t know where to post this here , so forgive me if it is the wrong place. We were coming home from our 2 week cruise Japan via Tokyo International Airport on April 27 and had ridden the Skyliner train. Once arriving at NRT, we saw that my luggage was taken from the train by someone before we could exit. One lg suitcase hard shell and a smaller carry on. where I had my tablet, cloths and phone with 2 weeks worth of the photos I took, gifts and ect. . We reported it to the train reps there at the airport where the train arrives but didn't have time to go to the police due to our flight time. Once home, we contact them by E mail.to try go get a report for insurance purposes. Nothing had been turned in and we gave up hope. What a thing to happen on the very last day of our trip! I went and purchased a new phone, tablet and underwear that I lost last week including my very dear Clemson Football National Championship sweatshirt was gone. Today, we were notified by the Tokyo police that both of the pieces of luggage have been recovered, fully intact with all of the contents right down to my phone, tablet ,sweatshirt and rum inside. Not only that but because we had several tags from the Millennium with our name and address on the bags, the police have recovered ANDas of today, already sent both pieces to us here in SC. USA. I am in tears, What else can I say except tag all of your luggage. This was not because of luck. It was because of the goodness consideration in some people.
  16. I was on Celebrity out of Barcelona and bought chips at the cage with euros and cashed in for USD 7 Yrs ago.
  17. Our 2 weeks of photo's taken during our entire Japan trip when my Cell was stolen on the last 3 hrs of the trip.
  18. When I was a youngster, I did a tour of Europe by hitchhiking. In Kirchdorf Austria, I discovered that somewhere along that day I had lost a bottle of a med that I needed. I found a pharmacy and spoke with the pharmacists for a few mins. They dispensed to me enough of my med. to return to Heidelberg where I could visit my Dr. If I had more time, I would have seen a hospital to see a Dr. if a pharmacy could not help. I suppose I was lucky that time however I understand what you are suggesting. I had to miss a dose but things worked out fortunately. I can tell you this though. I will never ever put myself in that position again. My post is actually asking generally speaking, if any kind of event had put a damper on a vacation cruise for you.
  19. With reference to meds., we always get our Dr to give us prescriptions in the event we loose ours and need to get refills. But due to our flight time, it was not possible this time. There is a Drug Store in NRT but all they sell is shampoo and ect.
  20. Yours is great advice for all travelers to follow and have always practiced in the past. I did have the bulk of my medication in the checked bag. The dosage required during the flight along with my phone and tablet were in the carry on. As seen in the photo prior to boarding, the carry on was tied to my suitcase to make it easier to transport in the train station with the plan to untie and carry it once on the train. That was my fatal second fatal error. The masses boarding in front of the car gave me no time to untie the carry on bag so under panic, both were placed on the rack. I completely misjudged the mob that covered the view of my bags. They are history. Carry on et al. Yes. Lesson learned. \Problem number 3. My wife reports that she will never do an international vacation again.
  21. We just got home from a nice cruise around Japan and almost had a wonderful trip. Until........ Due to a medical issue, I had to withdraw from a $260 prepaid private group excursion to Kamikura on the last day of the cruise. To drag it lower, we were on the Skyliner shuttle from Tokyo to NRT. As a rule luggage is placed in an enclosed area upon boarding. The short of it is, when leaving the train I found that 2 of my bags were stolen from that area. Sadly, one that contained some critical medication as well as my phone and tablet. We immediately reported this to the customer service people which was all we could to in the time frame we had before our flight. As predicted, nothing was recovered. That is how the wonderful cruise ended. Has anyone else have a cruise dampened by something happening to them?
  22. They are wonderful dogs. I had a beagle named snoopy once as well. We trained her to hop onto the roof peak of her doghouse and sit. She would sit there until she was told to come down.
