  1. Good news this morning.  I was able to use Lift and Shift to change our Oasis Sept. 20, 2020 sailing to Oasis Sept. 13, 2021.  Unlike my other Oasis sailing which was denied due to being booked under Friends and Family , this one was booked through Casino Royale.  We had a $200 voucher to use which is why we went through the casino phone number instead of the C and A number.

So I guess I'm confused.  I have an Oasis cruise booked for November 2020.  I was under the impression I could use Lift and Shift with price protection to change to November 2021.  Are you saying that isn't the policy and that Royal can use their own discretion to  allow the change or not?

That’s what it sounds like to me.  (See post #457)  I’ve looked and looked and nowhere do I see where you can’t combine the Lift and Shift with a TA offer.

  3. We are booked on Adventure of the Seas, July 1, Eastern Caribbean, 9 nights out of Bayonne. Assuming the cruise will be cancelled by Royal,  I called my TA to use the Lift and Shift offer.  We wanted to change to Oasis of the Seas, July 30, 2021, Eastern Caribbean, 9 nights out of Bayonne.  With all of the rules I've been reading, it all sounded good to me.  The TA was told no, we couldn't change because our original cruise was booked under a "Travel Agent Friends and Family" promotion and that is not combinable with this offer.   Very disappointed.  I guess we'll wait until RCL cancels and take the refund, assuming that option is still available😕

Thank you for all the tips and good point about the diapers etc. I read a good tip about bringing a small inflatable pool for bath time and filling it with the shower! We wouldn't be able to afford 2 cabins unfortunately, can't believe they charge full fare for an under 2yr old!

Wait to book when there's a Kid's Sale Free offer.  TA's usually sail during times kids are in school so you should be able to take advantage of this.

We are just off the Majesty (January 11th sailing), and Tornado Tanya announced it was her last night on the ship. She said she is moving to Ovation.

Tom Hopkins joined Majesty on January 18.  It’s his first Royal contract after working for other cruise lines.  Tom is very personable and we really enjoyed him.

  6. Just off Rhapsody and the WiFi was terrible.  We had the surf and stream package and a cabin on the 7th floor aft.  As Biker said, the futher away from the door you moved, the less it worked.  Having it work on the balcony was rare.  WiFi worked fine in public areas.

  7. After you get off the ship, turn left. Follow the path a ways and on the left you will find free umbrellas and chairs.  The beach will be directly in front of you.  You can wander around in that area to find the perfect spot for spending the day.  This is away from the pools but near the food pavillion.  We enjoyed our day there.

  8. My son and his family are scheduled to leave on the Grandeur Saturday, 5 days to Bermuda.   He is in the hospital with chest pains and will probably not be able to go.  If he doesn't go, none of them will go and nope, they don't have insurance.  Since the cruise is paid for, would RCL allow totally different people to go in their place?  I have a feeling someone with the same last name still needs to be in the room but just checking.

We are booked on the RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS next May.  I am thinking of paying for my son and his wife and their baby who will be 6 months at the time to come with us.  However, would you take a 6 month baby on a cruise?  There will be 4 adults in total to help

    what do you think?

Obviously people disagree with me but I say YES!   Our grandson was 10 months old on his first cruise (and took his first steps on the Grandeur).   In October he will be going on his third cruise along with his sister who will be 6 months + 12 days.  Yes, there are germs, but no more than at daycare.  We've had a wonderful time sharing what we love with our children and grandchildren and can't wait to sail with them again.  One note of advice...make sure you go on a Kids Sail Free cruise.  I learned the hard way paying full fare for a 10 month old.

  10. We booked through Air2Sea from Newark to Barcelona for our upcoming TA in November.   For a one way ticket on BA, you really can't beat the price.  When we made the reservation, the only choice we were given were seats in World Traveler Standard Economy.   Although this is what we normally fly, we decided this time we might try to upgrade to World Traveler Plus.  I called Air2Sea who said they couldn't change the seats, then called BA who said the same.  BA said that the reason our flight was so inexpensive is that Air2Sea had a block of seats to sell at a discounted price.  I've read on other threads that people booked with Air2Sea but have upgraded seats.  So I'm curious, how did you make this happen?  Thank you.

these look very nice. i have never seen them offered in the pre cruise planning section on the RCI website. I have a Chill Island cabanna reserved for our cruise in Dec buy this option looks nice too

I had not seen them advertised either.  The only reason we got it was because when my friend called to question the price of a cabana, the RCI agent offered her this.  I think we were very lucky!

Did they move the bungalows to Chill Island from South Beach? Those pics look like South Beach and the water was very shallow statement also ties in to South Beach. At Chill Island the water gets waist deep within 20 feet of the waterline.

Not sure.  All of the signs as well as our tickets said we were at Chill Island.  All the way at the end of the island.
