  1. On a couple of things.

Just got back from a cruise on iona which we enjoyed but like others thought the ship perhaps a little too big.

    point 1,

Shorts, why put it on the webpage that shorts are not allowed at night and then have no one to enforce this?

I buy tailored shorts mainly from M&S that are as expensive as the chinos i have bought from the same store

so i think the rule is a little daft in the hot weather, but my point is that i left most of my shorts at home, just taking

enough for trips off ship only to find quite a lot of men in shorts at night and some in my view were scruffy shorts

that had been worn all day around the pool ( 3/4 shorts/pants even worse)

    Point 2,

Not Many will agree with this but black tie nights are so 1920 to 1940 not 2022.

i took more than enough quality shirts for every night but no suit whilst a lot of others took a suit and seemed to

be in the same clothes night after night.

My problem was we were stopped going in certain bars due to not having a tie on and yet paid the same and more

                  for our cruise.

  2. Can someone please remind me when it is ok to use your mobile without heavy costs.

I have done 4 cruises with p&o but possibly due to age and a 3 year gap i have forgot some of the golden rules.

Package too expensive, can i use my mobile in ports without being stung?

p.s. i will be putting my mobile in aircraft mode as i board so at least i have remembered that!😃

  3. Having booked a p&o cruise for later this year with a t/a i thought i had enough info to have a go myself.

Firstly trying to change my e-mail address is proving hard work, the non important e-mails go to my

new e-mail yet the pay up went to my old e-mail that is shortly to be closed.

My other issue is my account no, where is it, we have cruised with p&o 3 times now but after signing

in and looking for my details i can only find something similar on the cruise we have booked later this

year but when i use this on the cruise we want to book it will not take it.

And why the title,  is anyone there, try calling them for help on the numbers they give, 30 mins waiting

time and after 4 attempts i have decided to spend my hard earned elsewhere, p&o do not seem to want

    my custom!

  5. Whilst on a caribbean cruise  in jan 2020 p@o offered a deal on the new ship iona to the norwegian fjords for which we put a deposit.

June last year got cancelled putting it back to june this year but my problem is they are now asking for full payment and we are now not

sure we want to go or not, the reasons are mainly due to coronavirus, will it go ahead in june( our chosen and preferred month)

will we have to wear masks most of the time, something i do everyday now but would not like to have to wear on ship/holiday and would

we be allowed off ship, there are other worries but these are our main ones.

My question is would you switch to a completely different cruise taking it forward to 2022 as i hope things even worldwide should be sorted by then.

  6. How do people who cruise quite often guard against this?

Only two cruises with p&o and my wife has come home from both badly affected, 1st arcadia (Baltics ) and now just returned off the Britannia ( Caribbean ) so

different ships different climate same outcome.

Also off this topic, earlier this week I posted Britannia where i  mentioned shorts on board but the one I wanted answers on was has p&o given up with trays on all ships

as they have done on Britannia, the post appears to have been taken down, have I missed something?

  7. Just a note to WilsonGR, the tui letter given at the end of the flight is incorrect in that it states we were delayed 28.49hrs

but it was nearer 32 and the absolute shocker that due to being tired only realised when talking to my own insurance was

the statement on our letter of IMPORTANT INFORMATION is scheduled time of departure...21:55 1st of feb,

Actual time of departure 02:44 2nd feb  which if correct would mean less than 5hrs overdue and under this is the line

Total length of delay 28hr and 49 minutes.

  8. We were on the same flight, i have just filled in a compensation form on the tui site and will await a reply.

Can you also claim off your insurance?

P.S. This delay was handled very poorly by p&o, one rep at hotel we were put up in and she was not good at

keeping people informed which resulted in a lot of angry passengers!

Also the note given by tui says 28 delay,it was 32!

  9. We are on the Britannia this w/e on a Caribbean cruise, through family problems I need to stay in

touch with my relatives. What is the best and cheapest way to use a mobile whilst out there and

due to the refurbishment of the ship have they took this into consideration?

Thanks for any answers in advance.

  10. I have had an e-mail today to inform me that a excursion we have booked to st Vincent whilst sailing on britannia has been cancelled

and p&o have successfully processed a refund into our bank, well two things......no money yet showing in bank and at this moment

even more annoying no explanation of why the trip has been cancelled.

Anyone had any experience of this in the past?

                                                                                       Thanks.

  11. Have another try as there has been some strange messages coming out of there in the last few days, I had been trying

to book flight seats for January but the site was down most of yesterday but managed in the end but not before some

strange messages coming back about my site was not secure and people were trying to hack my computer!

  12. would not want to go it alone, even the passport girls seemed angry and spilling for a fight and the one going into russia

was a stunning girl that should have been happy with the world!

  13. Having taken our 1st p&o cruise in may to the Baltics we found it easy to pick our excursions as we wanted to see all the countries we docked at and chose different ways with p&o

    to view these places.

Our next cruise is in January to the Caribbean for my wife's 60th and this is the problem.....we are docking at nine destinations and feel to a certain degree if you have seen one Caribbean beach you have seen them all so we may pick about three ( cost comes in also) if I give the nine can you give me the must go-to and the ones to forget.

    Barbados

    Curacao

    Aruba

    Granada

    Saint Vincent

    Saint Lucia

    Saint Kitts

    Antigua

    Sin Martin

    Thanks in advance for answers.

  14. I am 60yr old so no spring chicken but the point I am trying to make is that it seems silly to me that people can wear the same suit 4 times on a formal night that may be years old and looking it and yet on a casual night smart trainers are banned.I appreciate that standards need to be kept  but clothes and fashion change with time and generations, people in their 4os are getting to a cruise age but doubt they want to wear a dj on holiday. Also I may live in the north and have been a season ticket holder of my club most of my life but I do not own a football shirt, I also do not shop in primark  and mr moonstone I will have a different shirt on everynight, how about you?

  15. Shows how out of touch some people and p&o are, adidas are a smart expensive item of clothing the ones I own are smart fairly plain but not black( I have more taste).I could go to various lower range shops and buy a pair of cheap looking shoes for a tenner and they would be ok, I get the formal bit where you have to be looking the part expected but this is casual nights I am asking about, this reminds me of the hotels we have been in where shorts are barred in the evening meal( I agree with) yet people are allowed in with cheap shabby three quarter pants on and yet the m&s shorts that can cost much more are not allowed, very out dated!!

  16. Another dress code question and that is p&o say no trainers on casual nights, does this mean trainers as in tracksuit bottoms or footwear because if it is footwear I find this strange as I have a few pair of smart adidas that cost over £100 per pair which is more than the cost of most pair of shoes and also they say CASUAL NIGHT !

  17. Going here on our cruise a week sunday and looking at the cruise personaliser there are 4 pages of excursions something for everyone but looking at your question the nearest I can find to suit would be simply st Petersburg, a two day trip costing £237 or splendour of st petersberg again over 2 days costing £264 (adult ).Hope this helps.
