I received an extra point on a transpacific cruise crossing the line.

you get a second point for being a solo cruiser and really paying for two people anyway. you don't get them if you get a single cabin or a special solo deal though.
-
If you don't plan to let the ship take your luggage down as you only have a carry on and you are happy to carry it off the ship then you don't need an extra bag. Remember though that it can be very difficult to get a lift that morning and when boarding you will have to carry around your stuff until the cabin is available.

Royal seem to use a lot of these guys for security https://www.gwt.org.uk/news/history-famous-gurkhas-timeline/ retired of course and they don't let them use their Kukri but probably still not someone to mess with

RCI does fleetwide regardless of location. I always take one with me just in case our European hotel doesn't have them. Didn't even think of this until one of my first stays in Barcelona..I asked and they had no idea what I was talking about
try asking for a flannel, it would work in the UK anyway.

To piggyback off this (hope the OP doesn’t mind). I am new to Royal but not to cruising. I have MTD and am also traveling solo and prefer a table for one, Ive read I should make reservations if I don’t want to eat very late or will be forced to stand in line with everyone else wanting to eat around 7pm. Can I make a standing reservation for say, 7pm every night by talking with the maitre d on embarkation day? Or is everything done via the app?
Thank you in advance.
Yes you can make reservations for the same time each evening by talking rather than using the app.

Finally got my points yesterday after getting off the ship on March 27th. Apparently I somehow had a new account which they have now combined with my actual one. I received a set e mail text on how you should always provide your number when booking which is odd because the correct status was on my card etc.

I am still waiting so with have to call again

Contacted the UK Crown and Anchor number so probably spoke to someone in Guatemala and they said it was all in hand and give it another week.

Go to your account online, click on the circle in the upper right hand corner, and click profile, then click "my loyalty" , copy your membership number, the erase it and replace it, and save. Your number should change.
thanks but it didn't work, looks like I will have to give them a call.

I have been back nearly a month and nothing has been added so far, I know they normally would have done this within a week or two of you return but not what is happening now. Normal is more than two years ago now.

Hello,
I don't know about your certificates, but for some reason that I cannot find, ours are only valid for travel for 30 days and then have to be downloaded again.
Regards,
Cublet
They seem to be fine with the cardboard vaccination card/cards that we were given when they did the jabs as well as the NHS travel certificates as I have used both.

I find it weird that when you have flights with RC and they are in charge of your transport from the airport/hotel they still want you to select your own arrival time at the dock

we had a combination of if you were due to leave the ship by a certain time stay in the cabin and various lounges etc for the rest. My problem was they were not piping the announcements into the cabins.
-
I was on Grandeur a couple of weeks ago and they used the stern third floor ocean view cabins for isolation with the water tight door closed shutting them off. I did hear though some people complaining that they were given an hour to move cabins to accommodate the passengers from our who had failed the disembarkation lateral flow test.

If you have a cash account with no money down they will let you run up a tab of up to $500 before they cut you off.

you might want to think about Pesos if you are stopping in Mexico
-
normally I add one but they like to take it again on boarding

On my round UK cruise in August it was announced that you could not leave the ship for our Scottish stop unless you were wearing a KN95 mask. When we got there the crew were issuing them as you left the ship but didn't see anyone from the authorities checking.

been a couple of times and have visited the ruins and despite taking spray with me have never needed it

I was solo on a celeb round the UK cruise in August and I had a table to four by myself and a table gap to the next occupied one. This was on a all vaccinated and tested cruise.

New Zealand are really planning to get tough on smoking, how about planning to have this as the last generation that ever smokes https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-59589775

Could be worse. Had assignment on new Princess ship to an assembly station. Both our cards and the placard on our cabin door said same station. Checked in - they said we were not in that station but in a different one. Other station also didn't list us and sent us back to the first (correct) station. Took a while for Guest Services to correct the assembly station software.
Realistically doesn't matter where you are are assigned. To change you they would have to move someone else from the other assembly station. Way too complicated. Even if you are in the same station you could still wind up in different lifeboats. But when was the last time a cruise ship had to evacuate with lifeboats?
The Concordia in 2012 was probably the last time a big cruise ship really needed to use its lifeboats but you just never know.

you could print your certificate and take a pic (remembering it is dated) or store the image of it on your phone and attach. I just took a photo of my cards.
