  1. I was just trying to find a reference point, I sailed Carnival once the food was about Denny's quality and I wrote about how disappointed I was in the food, they responded back and I am paraphrasing " We never said we had great food"

For Celebrity the food is very good in my opinion , in the MDR it is like an upscale but not expensive restaurant, the steak at outback used to be comparable to a MDR steak but Outback has gone way downhill in their meat quality. You may knock Red Lobster but I have been to one here in Denver and they do a very good job with their dishes. One thing i always have to overlook is that the food is rarely hot on a cruise ship, and some food is just better hot.

This is a good topic in my opinion as some people think every meal is like Ruth's Cris the service is but not the Steak.

  2. One thing to be aware of debit and prepay cards do not always work with rental cars, I was in Seattle earlier this year and a woman was in tears as all she had was a debit card and they could not rent her a car, she had to have someone drive down from where she was visiting to give them a credit card for the car rental. For me I always carry 3 cards and make sure I call the company up, Chase has been quick to disable a credit card when used to buy gas on a road trip.

For me it is the only way to pay for a cruise since you have protection in case something goes wrong plus I get points/miles for the purchase.

  3. make sure you check to see if you need to tell them you will be out of the country, also you can use this which is what I think you were told about?

  4. if you have a pc or something with HDMI out people have had good luck by unplugging the HDMI cable to the TV and plugging in your laptop.

Then you can use the laptop to play the movie, unless of course you have a tablet with HDMI out?

  5. I actually plan on taking a spare phone with me to use as a camera, funny how cameras are bigger than a phone with a camera.

they don't take the best pics but for web pages they are not bad and everyone loves food pics!

I feel that the cruise will be a perfect time to break the chain for everyone, give people that need to call you the information on how to call the ship and let them know it is for emergencies.

leave clear instructions if you have pets and talk to your Vet ahead of time about what to do in case of an emergency.

    just enjoy being together

  6. thanks for providing a different view of things, I feel if you work with your child as they grow you need fewer rules when they become teens and independent my daughter has always been responsible and when we were in Paris a few years ago we had a friend of hers join us from Ireland and the 2 of them spent 2 day exploring Paris with no issues, I would certainly feel she would be safer on a cruise ship than the streets of Paris!

  7. 10 or higher is pretty hard to keep steady you will need to try somewhere before you buy or borrow. I spent some $$ on these in 2000

they work really well while on the ship and on the whale watching boat unless you do not get motion sickness at all I think trying to use them on a small boat is looking for trouble on a walking tour you could be fine with anything you can hold steady.
