Thanks!  Some of the ships have stairs that you have to navigate to get to the lower level so it is impossible for folks with mobility issues to get down there.  We will be on the Emerald soon for 26 days so I am happy to hear that.

What ship are you referring to. Every Princess ships I have been on has elevators to the aft dining room and other elevators to get down to security and medical center

Be aware that the Canada Border Services could possibly go on strike on June 6th.  The delays in Vancouver airport will be horrendous.  They are still in negotiations and hopefully they settle before then.  96% of their membership voted to strike.  It’s pretty tough to get 96% of  people to agree on anything, so things must be very bad in Canada.

Strike votes sre like grand jury indictments. You can indict a ham sandwich and any union can get big margins in a stoke vote or they would never hold one

    Thanks for the thoughts.

I was on Coral Princess in 2010 and pretty easy to find quiet places, so was surprised to hear it could be noisy on Majestic. I am working with an agent and her clients haven't complained; nor am I reading it as an issue....but then I may like more quiet time.

Thanks for the reminder about loosing sleep. An hour a day may be okay. My last flight was from Korea to Ontario....so jet lag, I know about. The benefits of an inside cabin is total darkness....so also good for naps

You do know that the Majestic is a way biggger ship than the Coral. At least 50% more passengers

Awesome! As a diehard fan of the genre, love this news and say it's about time. There are many millions of country fans nationwide. It's among the top selling genres and draws many Gen Z and millennial audiences, racking up huge streaming & concert sales.

I never could figure out why there wasn't a single cruise line ever willing to offer decent contemporary C&W options (All I've seen are those "theme" cruise with embarrassingly dated songs from 6 decades ago.)

To the poster making the derogatory comment above, buh bye! 🖐️

    I'll gladly take your cabin.

Contemporary Country ?  To me that means Beyoncé

    Hey guys!

My cruise leaves in 3 days. My son has a Amazon kids tablet. Will we be able to connect him to the ships wifi to download anything while on the ship?

I remember having to go through the app on my phone to connect to the internet. At least I think that was my princess cruise 🤣

If you have a WiFi plan yes. Otherwise no as far as I know

    Hello,

My extended family and I have been cruising together since 2016, mostly Caribbean and most recently Alaska.

We have decided it will be British Isles for our next one and we are leaning towards Majestic Princess May 2026. There are some specific ship questions we are trying to figure out before we take the leap.

One couple has sailed Princess from New York to Caribbean and my immediate family has done Princess to Caribbean and Mexican Riviera. Everyone else have sailed other lines but not Princess.

-Are there any dinner options that would let us reserve MDR early dining and have the 15 of us sit together at the same table or at the very least 2 tables together every night?

-The group likes to play board games/cards etc. It isn't usually everyone all at once but it can be. Are there public areas with space for us to gather and play?

-Connecting cabin options. We have had to change plans/ships in the past bc of this. We need a 3/2 option, a 2/2 option. Both will need to be at least oceanview but better if they are balconies.

-Casino question. We have a few that look specifically for table games. They are looking for games where you play against other players, not the dealer.

    Any information is helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

The only table game where you play against others is the automated poker table as I recall. Fairly high rake.

    Thanks all for the information.

We actually have the cruise package at PanPacific, so luggage is easy.

If it were just us, I’d wait until afternoon; but our kids & grandkids are with us and are eager to get aboard.

The only thing the cruise package gets you is breakfast as I recall. We just pay $20 to have luggage sent

One thing to note.  6:30 is not early on a cruise ship.  5:15 is early.  And to be honest, 6:30 is kind of a unicorn time to get seated.  Many of the early diners have not yet left the dining room or the tables have not been cleared and reset yet.  Even though Princess has moved mostly to an "Anytime" system of dining, it isn't really "Anytime."  It works more like:

    • First wave of diners queue up at 4:50-5:30 and fill the dining room.
    • That first wave finishes dining around 6:30-6:50 and tables get cleared and reset.
    • Second wave of diners gets seated around 7:00-7:30
    • Small number of third wave diners get seated from 8:00-8:30 or later.

So if you show up at 6:25-6:30, there is a good chance that you will be in a half-hour line to get seated.  And if you try to make a reservation for 6:30, you will probably be told that you can't.  It's even hard to get a 7:00.  They mostly funnel people into the 7:20 slot.   On my upcoming cruise, I made all of my dining reservations on the day that they opened up and nothing around 6:30 was even an option.  5:30 and 7:20 was all I was offered for a private table.  6:40 showed up as an option for a shared table, but when I tried to book that, I always got an error message.

We love that all the those people eat early. We never eat before 7:30 even at home and never have to fight the crowds

Ken the Cruiser, WOW !  What beautiful pictures you posted. LOVED this review.  So much good info and easy to follow.   I would like to ask a couple dumb questions please.  My DH and I are trying to plan our first Alaska trip.  We have used the good folks on Cruise Critic to give us tips, thoughts, ideas, etc.  We have explored cruisetours, DIY, and have looked at the 14 day cruise out of Vancoover.  We have even taken sage advice to cruise Princess for this trip over the line we had chosen due to cruising Glacier Bay.  I have a question about the 14 day cruise.  The cruise repeats several of the ports.  Did you find this to be a good thing?  I can see that it allows one to do multiple things.  The downside is repeating the same ports without seeing something different.  I know this is subjective, but please give me your thoughts.    The second question is Do you feel that you saw enough of Alaska by doing the cruise with great shore excursions without going more in country?  PLEASE know I am Alaska ignorant.  I am sincerely asking your thoughts.  Your pics indicate you saw a lot of Alasksa.    I am so torn between a cruisetour that goes to Denali ( which is only seen by 30% of the people who go ) and taking a steamboat in Fairbanks   vs    those beautiful views you have along the water and the excursions you did. Many of your excursions are the ones we had picked out.  We happen to really love waterfalls and really like the 26 Glacier excursion.  Third question:  The pics of Glacier Bay - how close were you to those? Did you take a smaller boat to see those or were you on the ship?   I would appreciate any thoughts you are willing to share. If anyone else has thoughts, please tag onto this if you would.  Thank you..

If you have never been to Alaska there are many things to do in the main ports. We often do the b2b out of Vancouver and usually you hit Glacier Bay and Hubbard on one direction and Glacier Bay  and College Fjord in the other.

Thanks.  Yes, once on board we were able to make reservations for the Salty Dog Gastropub.

I have never seen reservations available for Salty Dog Gastropub. It may vary ship to ship but on both the Crown and the Ruby (3 cruises in the las 7 months) there were no reservations only walk up. It is not my favorite casual venue.
