Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Not with those but the Charles Schwab debit card is excellent. Almost no fees of any kind and availability world-wide.
  2. It should. It did for us 2 months ago when we went on a Princess NZ cruise. We printed out our receipts but never needed them.
  3. As far as I know OBC can only be used to make a reservation once you're physically on the ship. Off ship they want CC.
  4. You might be right. The point is I was good to go the day before we were to arrive at the port for embarkation. Upon arrival and when I had to produce my phone for check-in that status had changed back to not good to go and I had to reinput all of my info all over again.
  5. The charges displayed on the TV is a great service but remember they run separate accounts for each passenger so to get a true picture of all expenses you need to check both accounts. There are also kiosks that print out statements if you like.
  6. Unfortunately it tends to "forget" important things as well. Last Spring my wife and I sailed Princess around Japan to see the Sakura (cherry blossoms to us non-Japanese folks.) Prior to sailing I filled out all of my info, Covid-vac status (still required then) and everything else that was needed. I got a confirmation back that I had been upgraded from green boarding status to blue (meaning cleared and good to go.) My wife did the same and also got blue status. When we arrived at Yokahahama to board my status changed to green while my wife's remained unchanged. I had to renter everything all over again using an Internet service that was less than robust in the boarding area.
  7. Same thing happened to my wife and I returning to the US in Miami after a Caribbean cruise (we're US citizens by the way). My wife purchased some earrings costing roughly $2,000. Back then we had to fill out customs forms and even though she had purchased the jewelry in St. Thomas (a US territory) she declared them. Miami customs pulled us out of line and sent us to a separate room where we waited for way more than an hour for someone to come in and process us. They went through each piece of luggage examining everything in our suitcases, carry-ons and backpack. I had to turn out my pockets as well. Then we had to repack everything ourselves. There was no apology, no lecture, nothing; just a "You're free to go." She has purchased jewelry since then on subsequent cruises but now wears them through customs and doesn't say a thing.
  8. We were just in Japan last April. That bus service is still operational. They make limited stops and service terminates for the day around 6PM. While we had made reservations online before flying to Narita our plane arrived too late to use the service. We ended up booking a cab through booking.com. That worked out very well. We were staying at the Asakusa View hotel, our ride was about 30 minutes.
