  1. Ours isn't stress but excitement. We have done 15 cruises with RCCL and have it down pat. We agree on a cruise, I book it and it is usually close to final payment and then we start looking at excursions and everything else. We try to have everything prepaid before we set foot on board. We usually set our cruise wear out about a week out and pack the night before we leave. We normally take clothes for dinner and just pack workout clothes and bathing suits. Helps cut down on weight.

One thing we don't do is sail around the holidays. There is enough stress involved with those and we see no reason adding to that. LOL

  2. I personally think the beaches in Costa Maya are about the worst I have ever seen on a cruise port. The pool in the "tourist trap" disembarkation area is OK by me. If ever a port stop warranted a "stay on the ship day", it is Costa Maya in my opinion.

Enjoy your cruise and hopefully you'll see something special that I must have missed!

BTW - be careful of the restaurants at the beach charging you an extra tax or service charge that doesn't exist. This happened to me and required some discussion with the manager.

    Thanks for the restaurant info.

  3. Beaches in Costa Maya are in Mahahual's malecon, $3 tram from inside port/ or $3 taxi from outside port.

None have admission charges, with only a couple of exceptions, all have free loungers, just buy food and/or drink. No barriers between clubs. Find a spot you like (avoid the pitch of the lounger hawkers) and you're done.

Lots of reviews of places on this board.

    Thanks Crewsweeper

  4. It has been a while since we have been here. We arrive Oct. 6th and not sure where Liberty Of The Seas will dock. Are there beaches close to where we do dock that have public access?

    Thanks for your answers.

  5. We love the Freedom Class Ships. We will be sailing on Liberty Of The Seas October 1st and this will be our 4th time on her. What's not to like. You are on a beautiful ship. We also like the Voyager Class Ships. It is the Promenade that attracts us to these ships. Tried the Oasis and it was nice but we felt it lost the intimacy of cruising. Crew IMHO was stretched way too thin.
