  1. I have seen talk on here that Oasis may come to Galveston, which would be awesome. Carnival is bringing Vista in fall 2018 which I think will put some pressure on RC. We're excited for Vision though, I hope the short cruises are successful and they keep them going.

    That would be very awesome!

  2. My point is, you paid Carnival a couple of thousand dollars to cruise on the Dream and they provided you the worst cruise experience ever (mold, bad service, bad food and guests fornicating in public areas).

Despite this lesson unlearned, you then went ahead and gave the same company, Carnival Cruise Lines, a couple thousand dollars more of your money and experienced slow service, bartenders uninterested in serving you, cold, under-cooked, hairy food and a defective mattress.

Your reasons for taking this cruise whether personal choice or being forced on board the Breeze by friends or family or whatever are inconsequential. You've come on here twice to rant about 2 over the top lousy experiences aboard a Carnival ship.

If you think it's just a ship issue (Dream vs Breeze) and not a company issue, then what's up next? The Vista?

It does not fit your bastardized Einsteinian definition of insanity.

  3. I was about to say I am sorry to hear of the OPs experience but after seeing what AdGuyMG posted I am starting to doubt credibility. Everyone have different taste but the level of these negative comments seem too far out there to believe.

OP.. If your comments are true, I would suggest trying a different cruise line. Maybe what carnival has to offer does not fit your taste.

My point was that no matter what someone posts here, if its negative about Carnival people turn into "flamers" because their opinion is different. In fact we had great reservations, but my father wanted to come and it was in his budget. The food was disgusting, period.

Yes, we are booked on a different line next time. Here is where people insert the piss off, good riddance posts about going on a different line. I have seen it here a thousand times. Other posters doubt something outside of their experience and try to destroy others with differing views. Hence my remark about flaming.

  4. And I highly doubt they served "raw" pork. Pork should be warm pink in the center, if not you've overcooked it and ruined the meat. This guy is bitter just to be bitter. Can't please everyone, especially people with a history of being bitter.

Even the Mairte D said it was raw.

  5. Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

A few weeks ago, the OP posted this:

My worst cruise was on the Dream a few years back. Mold, bad service, bad food, guests fornicating in public areas, we went to exercise the guarantee, but decided against it as the kids asked us not to.

Readers of this current post can come to their own conclusions.

And your point is what exactly? I did not post my reasons for going on this trip as they are personal. Insanity would be going on the Dream again and expecting different results, this was the Breeze, obviously a different ship. Pay attention to the title.

  6. Might want to check out post 3

Poked through their intended positions to nestle their metaly goodness in your back. Is that better.

.....so I guess I will take it as a no for pics of the wires coming thru the mattress....darn, and I was so on the edge of believing....

  7. To where, and when? I see a number of seven day Regent cruises in the $5000 for two people range. Remember that Regent includes shore excursions, airfare, alcohol, alternate restaurants, the list goes on. So you need to compare apples to apples, and people who leave a seven day cruise with a $1000 bar tab, eat at the steakhouse three times at $40 per, and spend $300 each to fly to the cruise, take three shore excursions at $50 per... $2000 later and the cost of the Regent cruise isn't a whole lot more than the "insert name of mass market cruise here."

    Nice analysis.

  8. Sorry but was on the Breeze the week of 10/16 and prior to that December 2015 - no issues at all. Beds were fine - not weed and springs. Never had an issue with food, but I don't eat that much so it's not terribly important.

Sorry your cruise wasn't great. Maybe cruising is NOT for you.

I've been on many cruises and its nice you liked yours. Maybe your taste is askew?

  9. Ah, name calling.....it adds so much to the conversation, did not happen to take any pics of the mattress did you? Add inedible buffet food to the mix.... And Surly bartenders, don't know how you made it thru this fiasco...

  10. Goodness I hate to hear of your disappointing experiences. Just one question: I have avoided the buffet the last several cruises. Are you speaking of the food there or in the MDR?

Unfortunately both. The steakhouse was great, but who wants to pay 35 a night for dinner every night when you have already paid for meals?

    I love whiskey.

  11. First the positive.

99% of the staff were friendly.

    The ship is very clean.

Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana were fantastic.

    Now the negative.

Service was slow and some bartenders didnt want to help us as we had Cheers

The food was down-right awful. Everything from raw pork, cold entrees, and hair in the food. Just disgusting.

The soft goods need replaced. The matress was wires and springs.

All in all a very disappointing cruise.

Now come the Carnival cheerleaders to flame me, flame away.

    I love whiskey.

  12. Its funny, for years carnival was known as the party cruise line, but for anyone who does quite a bit of drinking, the other cruise lines can be cheaper then carnival when factoring in the drink package deals, and also there is no 15 limit on the other lines, like carnival has.

I have changed 2 bookings to NCL for their perks.

  13. QUOTE=SOMEBEECH;51560179]Thanks everyone.

For $6-9K I can get a better suite on a close competitor that has better perks and is going to the same destinations. That's a shame that this companies suite perks is so bad and still charging that much. I guess we will stick with our Grand Suites if we decide to stay with Carnival.

Exactly, we have booked the 1 bedroom aft Haven suite on the Escape next December for 6k and it includes tips, beverage package, dining, internet, and my two kids are free. Carnival is great for nonsuite cabins.
