  1. In the past, when I have just ordered the lobster tails, I was served 6 of them initially, and about halfway thru the entrée portion of the meal, the waiter came back to ask if I was ready for more. I have never taken him up on the offer because I have never been able to eat all 6 by myself. I always share with my tablemates.

And I love it when you share...;p

  2. I, for one, don't miss the full promenade at all. It discourages the joggers and sends them up to the Sun deck where they belong. Nothing worse than trying to take a leisurely stroll and constantly having to dodge joggers yelling, "behind you" and "on your left."

Nothing is worse than trying to take a leisurely jog and have people walking three abreast...... How hard is it to walk on one side without weaving all over the place???

  3. The way that guy looked at me, I was sure we were going to a secondary strip search area.

Who would have thought that on a back to back anything needed to be declared. In fact on a Regal back to back this

February(In Ft. Lauderdale), I actually filled out the form with stuff we had already purchased. The guy didn't even collect it,and on final week we filled out a new one with the two weeks worth of purchases, including what we bought on the ship.

Blue bags, didn't give them a thought, they were stuffed in my carry on.

How can two government officials act so different.

So for San Pedro disembarkation, both weeks it was the guy in the far left, small white beard. He was not old about maybe 50years old.Look around before you get on a line. He may have changed locations.

Thanks for the heads up on this guy. We leave San Pedro on 4/15. I'll have to keep him in mind while getting off the ship.

How do they expect you to come up with an monetary value when there is none? I guess we better start declaring the little goodie bag they give elites...

  4. We booked 2 cruises under the Sip and Sail. Our 28 day cruise in October (almost $3,200 for the AIBP) was the same cost as it was listed last year without the promo. So far the fare has gone up by $200 per person. I agree that, sometimes, the promotional deals aren't really "deals" but, in this case, it seems that we made a major score. Out of the 28 days of the cruise 18 of them are sea days where the AIBP will really be useful. We would never have paid for it but since, like I said above, the cruise this year with the AIBP was the same cost as the same cruise sold for last year without the AIBP, and the price has only gone up since we booked, I can't really see a downside.

The cruise after that is a 14 day Circle Caribbean (true 14 day - not a B2B) and there aren't nearly as many sea days. If a better promo comes along we may consider changing from the one we have with the AIBP but, then again, we are happy with the price we paid and my just keep the package. We have booked our last several cruises about a year and a half in advance and none of them have gone down as we waited. They had various promotions but always ended up working out to more than we had paid.

You certainly got a a GREAT deal on the AIBP

We have sailed 25 times on Princess, Royal and Carnival. All but one of our cruises have gone down in price after we booked. Some dropped more than others, but a price drop none the less...

  5. Any recent update on the tender schedule?

Just off the phone with a rep at Princess and she stated that tendering stops at midnight.

Trust me, I've learned not to accept the things these reps say as a definite answer but she sounded pretty sure that tendering stopped at midnight

Anyone with a recent 5 day cruise to Cabo within the last month or two??

    Thanks everyone

On our booking it says tenders run until midnight then resume at 6 am

    Our sailing is 4/15

  6. I took the Ultimate Ship tour on the Regal last week and the Head Engineer of the ship said that on the Regal and Royal each cabin has their own separate AC unit located above the ceiling,

Better watch out for the guy with the skepticism detector. He doesn't believe anything he hears a bartender or what a bus driver may have said. I am sure he will add the head engineer to his list.

  7. So, just how does a bartender know someone at the bar is in club class? Is there a certain glow about them? Do they wave their cruise card and shout it out? Based on one bartender's statement and without corroboration from Princess, I don't think the bartender is accurate that Club Class passengers get priority service at the bars.

I have no idea. Just reporting what he said. I guess time will tell if he was correct.

  8. Whenever I see or hear: "A bartender told me..." or "A bus driver told me...", my skepticism detector goes off. Not saying that the people reporting this are misquoting the bartenders or the bus drivers. But the bartenders and bus drivers aren't always on point with their information. Often times, their "sources" are other bus drivers and bartenders.

Guess we will see if your skepticism detector is worth keeping or be thrown in the garbage. We should find out in the coming weeks....

  9. When we were on our cruise last week a bartender that I have cruised with now on 4 cruises told me this in fact is the case. He said if a club class person comes up to the bar, they are to be served next. He didn't say how they recognize that someone is club class or not. This may not be true, but he told me this. He also said that the drink package is going to be changing very soon. Too many people are sharing drinks with people that did not purchase it. He didn't say what the changes are going to be.

  10. A bartender that we have now cruised with 4 times now, told us some interesting news on our cruise the 2/19/17 sailing on the Regal. He said princess is aware of all the sharing that is going on with the beverage package. He said in the very near future the beverage package is going to be revamped. He did not really going to far into specifics....

He also pointed out that he basically has to drop everything if someone in club class comes up to the bar. They take priority over everyone...

  11. Hi, we were on the Regal a few weeks before, and the Maitre D' changed half way through to a gentleman (who our head waiter told us had returned to Princess after a year or so out) called Nicola. A nice guy who hosted our Chefs table dinner, and used our names the 3 subsequent times he saw us around the ship thereafter - impressive!

We did the chef's dinner on the 2/19 cruise. There were 8 couples. He introduced us to three or four people and each time rattled off every couples names. I was very impressed. He was an extremely nice guy. Chef was as awesome...

  12. I was on the 2/19 cruise also. One night the lady brought one of her two dressed up dogs in the casino. She sat down to play baccarat. The dog sat on the chair next to her while she played.

The next day she had both the dogs dressed up on the running/walking track. She had them tied up while she went onto the basketball court for Zumba.

It's so crazy that Princess allows this... Princess may not have a choice, but what if every passenger decides to bring there dogs on a cruise?
