  1. Here are the menus for day three tonight. This cruise has 3 sea days and stops in Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel if this is you're route, these will be your menus

Curious... aren't those ports in Western Caribbean? The menu says Eastern for the port of call.

  2. Does Carnival charge a room service fee if you order between the hours of 11pm and 6am? Celebrity charges $5. Also what do they charge for specialty restaurants?

Room service is free 24/7, however, they have added some items for a fee.

The steakhouse is $35 and the Italian restaurant is $15, I think.

  3. I guess all of the people that complain about smoke in the casino on ships have never been to a land based casino. You can smell cigarette smoke the instant you open the door at the casinos around here.

It's true. I was just walking through one here yesterday. Green Valley Ranch, it's a very nice one but the smoke walking through just to get to the restaurant is horrible. There's no way around it. But, as bad as it was, it's still in a big, open, well-ventilated area... unlike the small, poorly ventilated casinos on a ship.

  4. So when the ship is sailing at 22 knots, and there's a tailwind of 22 knots, what direction do you think the smoke goes?

You sound like you're one of those individuals that think smoke on a balcony goes aft as well.

And ever stand for up the pool, way up top, and look aft, and see the exhaust from the stack ripping sideways into a spiral, hitting the side of the ship as it wraps around?

No, I'm one if those who thinks smoke on balconies is now banned and I'm happier for it. All I know is, I never had an issue with the ship's smoke stack before but that's besides the point. If we want the ship to get where it's going, it's got to smoke. Smokers, on the other hand, are not going to stop working simply because they can't light up anywhere they want. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

  5. Totally disagree. The outdated classic 'seen but not heard' does not teach children to behave and socialize as children, so as young adults they are unable to socialize properly.

Agreed. Ever since she could talk at 1 1/2, my dd has never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. She was always very polite and people loved her.

  6. Not sure how they would extinguish the biggest smoking object though; the funnel. Seems this doesn't bother you, or do you cruise in sailships?

I don't understand why people think the two are comparable. They're not even close to the same thing and you can't even smell the ship exhaust since it's up so high and no one has to sit in an enclosed room with the funnel. If ships designed a smoking room up there with the funnel, I don't think anyone would complain. Great idea!

  7. Since you added these to the Carnival forum and some of them don't hold true for Carnival...

1.You are not limited to one entree (even lobster) or dessert. You can get an appetizer size of any entree.

    2. You can bring your own wine. check with line for quantity.

It's one 750ml bottle per person over 21.

    3. Room service is free except for late night.

Room service is free on Carnival 24/7, but now they have added some items with a minimal charge.

    4. Soft drinks are not free.

    5. If you get a specialty drink in a special glass, save it for a discount on your next drink. Order with no ice and get more. 15% gratuity charged.

    6. Bring nightlights or magnets to stick on stateroom wall (if metal)

    7. You need to ask for a top sheet if you like one.

    8. Green apples are good for seasickness.

    9. Go to the casino when it opens and get a lanyard for your room key. They will punch your key. Be careful they don't punch it on the part you need to scan.

    10. The beverages in your room refrigerator are not free. Have your steward remove them if you do not want them.

    11. You can get a fruit basket from room service.

    Not sure about this one.

    12. Go to the dining room on embarkation day. It is not as crowded as the Lido.

The dining room is not open on embarkation day, but some other dining venues are and may be less crowded if your ship has them. Example, the Italian restaurant, fish & chips, etc.

    13. If you must show your room key to get a beach towel, make sure you turn the towel back in.

    14. Some cruise lines have different color carpet on the starboard side and the port side.

    15. You can shower for free at the spa. The shower is usually larger.

    16. If you purchase a soda card, you need the special cup.

Not sure what special cup, is this if the ship has the fountain drinks? Carnival has cans they pour into a regular cup over ice.

    17. If you plan on doing laundry, bring soap pods and dryer sheets. Iron free.

    18. You can bring a hanging shoe bag for extra over-the-door storage.

Be careful with this... Carnival has specified that these must now be fire retardant.

    19. Bring a highlighter to mark the activities you like on the daily newsletter.

    20. Get soft serve instead of Ben and Jerry's.

Carnival doesn't have Ben & Jerry's. They do have free 24/7 soft server and hard ice cream is free in the MDR. You can get a banana split off the kids menu too.

    21. Some lounges offer 2-for-1 drinks at happy hour.

    22. If your ship has a rock climbing wall, bring sneakers.

    23. If you need a lot of outlets, bring a power strip.

Power strips must be without surge protection or will be confiscated.

    24. To find location of your photos, look on your cruise card.

Don't think Carnival has this option.

  8. I went back onto the carnival website and for minors my only choice was yes they can have charging privileges or no they can't:confused:...... Could someone tell me how to set up a limit for them? or does it need to be done on board at guest services? Thanks so much in advance for your help :)

I don't think you can do it online but I was able to do it on our cruise through the kiosk.
