...Let's do something fun and speculate about potential Godmothers of Enchanted Princess and Discovery Princess!

My choices would be for Enchanted Princess: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. How more "enchanted" is it than to be a little American girl who grows up to marry a Prince? Plus, her sister-in-law is Godmother of Royal Princess, so that goes together nicely.

For Discovery Princess, I would think that Bindi Irwin would be a great choice. Her dad was instrumental in the early success of Discovery Networks, which is already a partner with Princess. She's followed in her father's footsteps, and seems to be well-liked by many people.

    What say you?

please! Marlke is not particularly loved nor admired.

Princess has been making exceptions this year with most of the COVID-19 forced cancellations.  In order to help both customers and TA's, the "Double the Deposit" promo and other incentives to take extra FCC instead of a cash refund also meant those special FCC's are commissionable when applied to a future booking.

Still nothing on the original booking if not fully paid. But yes on a future cruise within a certain time frame.

Anyone know if a TA gets any compensation, especially this year, when a cruise line cancels a cruise before the final payment due date?

Not a cent if the cruise has not been paid in full.

Then you should book Princess through US online agents.

Terms and conditions vary from country to country. You are very lucky to be able to refare and indeed cancel a booking and have your deposit refunded.

In Great Britain, cancellation means loss of deposit. We are allowed one change to our bookings which incurs an admin fee of £100.

Didn't know that. Really unfair to you.

My cruise is still coming up on Personalizer as "live". how long will it take for the FCD i booked it with to go back into my Princess account? will wait for it to appear before another booking

Call them. It's up to Revenue Support to put it back into your account, they are very busy doing that for many other guests, but if you are booking another cruise when you call, there is a good chance they will do it then. It involves a lot or hold time on the phone. If you use a TA, they can get it done.

Because Carnival Corp is the provider and originator of the benefit I prefer to abide by their requirements.

    1. Fax or regular mail.  There is no exception for email submittal.

    2. Submit no less than 3 weeks before sailing.  There is no requirement to own shares within 90 days.

This could all change in a heartbeat, but it is easy to think that someone at Princess is putting their own spin on the submittals.  There needs to be a uniform set of rules and requirements.

Well, things change, and they did. They now allow submission anytime because you can use OBC for excursions.

Because Princess removed the Universe Lounge and moved around other aft public spaces to add cabins for 200 additional passengers. Also, no International Cafe, "U" shaped promenade, buried fitness center on deck 6 aft, no extra DR's for the extra passengers, no extra seating in the theater and lounges.

With all that said people have experienced nice cruises on the Island.

I would not return to the Island for a free cruise. It's a mess.

weedpindle;  I understand your frustration;  if you are upset with my comments I am sorry for that.  I went on a rock and roll oldies cruise; which I paid for.  You may contact the concert promoter and vent your frustration with them; just don't be upset with me because I took a cruise.

Well, it's just your cavalier attitude regarding the inconvenience for others on the ship.

Hello everyone.  I have been part of the Concerts At Sea group.  There were quite a few people whom we met while boarding in Fort Lauderdale who had no idea we were onboard for the week.  There were appox 900 people including the bands.  There were concert shows everyday in the theater; but the concerts were at times that did not interfere with any Princess show in the theater.  The cruise was on Caribbean Princess;  and the two venues which were used every night were: Club Fusion and Skywalkers.  Normally the oldies house band played every night in Club Fusion; and the DJ played in Skywalkers.  Other than that; I did not see that the group inconvenienced any passenger on the ship. There was a small desk which was manned by the tour; which was by the Piazza.  They were there to answer any questions from the group.  It was a great time and I would book another one just to see all the groups up close and personal.  I counted 12 other bars on this ship for people to socialize.  Any official Princess event like trivia, bingo, etc was not  cancelled or changed to a different venue.  Have a great day

Every night...Do you see what you are saying. This means everyone else cannot use the venues EVERY NIGHT. Boy, do you think that may inconvenience anyone. I guess not since you are content with your comment.

  10. We were on a cruise last year on the Regal, but  900 or so 50's/60's music lovers group took over the Vista lounge every night, Theater most afternoons & they had smaller venues booked for a period of time then would not leave so other activities (think trivia) could take place. It was a mess. Passenger services/CD would not say anything to them about running overtime. ED was generous with obc (complain) but it was not a happy cruise. If I knew about it it would  be easy to not go on that leg, but no way to tell.

  11. Not really, and Princess isn't going to tell you...Too many people would not book if they knew, sometimes it is a real pain. There is a website that shows some groups ( I forget the name, but it lists only those groups that submit the info and you need to look up by the group name, so I found it useless and did not bookmark it).

Hi!  We live about 5-7 miles from Lady Lake!  Small world. We never take a trip without meeting someone from the Villages. We are east of Belleview at the very south end of Ocala.

Every cruise has someone from The Villages it seems.

  13. Patters change and what was relevant last year may not apply this year or next. Since the ED makes them up, and the ED changes after their contract is up,  times for excursions, activities and formats  also change. It is a lot more fun to await new experiences without knowing every step of the future.

I don't need to live it to know it's crappy. I have Canuck friends in Kingston and Quebec and have heard enough horror stories from them.

Similarly, I don't actually have to eat crap to know it's going to taste like crap. Capishe?

I used to live in Rutland, VT. Every Monday there was a bus or two coming from Canada full of people heading to the hospital to get healthcare that they could not get in a timely manner in Canada. Every Monday, and they were paying top dollar since no insurance.
