  1. Some great advice on this thread! Thank you! Making me feel

Much more at ease about first cruise on Royal carribean voyager of the seas with our twins who will be 2.5years old. We have 2 cots requested for the room, will this be pack and plays? Does anyone know how i can find out exactly how big pack and plays are? If I google is it the grace brand? We have our own small portacots which I would maybe rather bring if they are more compact then what will be provided.

If you have portable beds for your kids I would bring them. A friend of mine went on a cruise and they requested a portable crib and when she boarded they told her they didn't have any left. It was not Royal Caribbean BUT I'd rather be safe!

  2. You could do what we do with our daughter. You could let her fall asleep in the master suite with the tv on and then transfer her to her bed when she's down. I'm not sure how old your daughter is or if that's feasible. But that's just a suggestion.

That's a good ideA! I think I still struggle from PTSD from when my youngest was a baby! Ha! She was a horrible sleeper and I get major anxiety every time we have a new sleeping situation. Ha!

  3. We got lucky and were able to upgrade our rooms from two connecting rooms to a Family suite the other day and Im excited!

My question is about embarkation day. I have read different things about boarding as a suite passenger in San Juan. Any tips or advice would be helpful. I have heard two things, that being a suite guest doesn't matter and you board the same as you normally would. BUT I have also heard that there is a special line and you get to skip a lot of the lines.

I have never stayed in a suite before and even though the perks are nothing amazing I am still excited!

  4. Hi everyone! We got lucky and booked a Royal Family suite for our family of 4! Price was the a little over what we were paying for our two connecting rooms so we snatched it up!

My question is does the second bedroom have a TV in it? My daughters really struggle sleeping in new places and I was hoping I could put on a Disney movie to help them calm down and fall asleep. As I know that will make them pass out! : ) I couldn't tell from the photos of the room if it has one.

Thanks for the help! Its a silly question but I thought I'd ask!

  5. Maybe we will get lucky and she will be fully potty trained by then. She has some other issues that have made potty training harder! Hopefully they will be understanding and let her go with her sister!

  6. My almost three year old is in the middle of potty training. We have been working on this for a while. It will be a miracle if she is potty trained by the time of our cruise. She will be 3 on the cruise and old enough to go to adventure ocean with her 5 year old sister. Will they accept her if she is still in pull ups?

  7. We have the lotus travel crib and were given a baby bjorn travel crib just recently. Both are about 42" length. They fold up tiny and are extremely light. We check them when we are flying as they fold into a bag. The lotus we got almost 5 years ago and we have used it for both girls traveling and staying at grandparents house and it has held up great. My almost 3 year old still sleeps in in when we travel. The baby bjorn that we were given was used with two kids before they gave it to us and it looks brand new. The mattress seems more comfortable in the baby bjorn. Might be something to look into. You could just pull it out at night because they both fold so small and so easy you could put it in the closet during the day so you have more space in your room if needed.

  8. We are not bringing Our kids carseats that we use in the car (ages 2 and 4). We are bringing their travel "car seats" though. We have RiderSafe Travel vests for our girls. They act as a carseat, are tested like a carseat and are as safe as a carseat, but they fold into a bag. I am a safety freak so it eases my mind and then we are free to take cabs and do whatever we want and not be restricted to walking and buses. Might be something to look into depending on her weight. There is a minimum weight to use them.

PS they are a little expensive but they will last a long time. She will be able to use them for years for all forms of travel.

  9. Hello everyone. We are trying to decide if we want to bring a stroller on our upcoming cruise to the southern caribbean. I was thinking that maybe we just leave the strollers and home and if things go bad and we need one we could just buy umbrella strollers in port. Does anyone know if this is possible? I know a lot of tourist spots sell umbrella strollers but didn't know if it was the same in the Caribbean. We are going to St. Maarten, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, San Juan

Also would you bring a stroller for a 3 and 5 year old?

    Thanks!

  10. Hi everyone! We are taking a cruise with our young kids in June. One of daughters has Celiac Disease and a severe nut allergy so we are very hesitant to let her eat from a buffet due to accidental cross contamination. I have read a lot about Royal Caribbean and it seems that the dining room is very safe for her to eat. So my question is on the mornings that we have early excursions (8/830) is it possible to preorder room service the night before to arrive early morning? That way the kids can eat before we leave the ship? I know the dining room is open but I have a feeling it will take too long. I would rather wake them up, eat and go.

This is our first time cruising with the kids and its making me feel like I have never been on a cruise before!

  11. This is a silly but does anyone have recommendations for a good carryon bag for young kids (3 and 5)? Every time we travel my girls want to take a bag on the plane to carry their dolls and things. We normally bring them each a very small backpack. The problem is every time we get to the airport they instantly want to take their backpacks off. Anyone have a small carryon bag with wheels that is easy to access the inside while seated on the plane? Like a duffle with wheels or something? I was thinking maybe a trunki? But they have mixed reviews.

I know this is a dumb question but it drives me crazy every time we travel.

  12. We are currently booked on a RCCL cruise out of San Juan on June 3rd. Right now we have two connecting ocean view staterooms. We are a family of 4. Our kids are going to be 3 and 5 at the time of sailing. After much thought I decided that I didn't trust our kids enough to sleep in the connecting room if it were a balcony, which is why we booked the two ocean view rooms. I have never sailed in a non balcony room. I am wondering if it would be worth it to book a Junior Suite for the 4 of us. The grand Suite is just out of our budget.

Thanks for any insight! This is the first time sailing since our kids were born and I am having a heck of time making decisions!:)

  13. I have been going NUTS trying to figure out what to do about car seats for my 4 and 6 year olds for our travel / cruise in Europe. In Europe, kids up to 12 need to be in a booster (unlike here in the US.)

Now at home, my kids are still in harnessed seats, and I understand a harness is safer.

But I was so excited to find the Bubblebum booster. :) Mine should arrive in a few days, and I will report back. But I know this is a topic that is discussed often, and felt I had to share (sorry, I was just a little excited, especially after I saw the cost to add 2 booster seats to my rental car reservation.)

I know this was a LONG time ago, BUT how did it go? Did you feel it was safe for the kids?

  14. We love the main dining room just because it is so different from your normal dining experience. It feels like vacation to me!! We have used the spa a few times and to me it's not worth it. Services are not great. Last massage I got onboard I couldn't stop laughing, it was awkwardly bad. BUT that being said any massage is better than no massage. : ) enjoy your honeymoon! Cruising is the best!!
