  1. Thank you very much for the information.

We will be arriving on Friday July 15.

I looked at the Stage Coach bus times and thought the 25X bus would be express.

Is the first 25X Express bus at 9:09 am?

for the return from Inverness Bus Station back to High Street Invergordon for the afternoon with a 18:00 pm ship departure:

15:25 Inverness Bus Station 4th stop will be at

    16:09 Invergordon High Street

Where do we purchase the bus tickets? From the bus driver in cash?

Our tour in Inverness is from 10:00 - 14:00

This bus schedule gives us extra time in both Invergordon and Inverness, if I am reading it correctly.

Can you please double check my schedule.

Thank you so very very much.

  2. Does Princess offer a shuttle from the ship port area into the town of Le Havre?

I have read in places yes, other times no. Called Princess and they were not sure.

Any correct shuttle information would be very helpful.

    thanks

  3. Just off the Island Princess.

The ship is in great condition, the staff are super and the food is good.

You cannot walk all around on the Promenade Deck as it is blocked off. Just cut across or turn around. The workout facility is small and has no windows.

We had anytime dining and always had a long line to enter the dining room. You can call at 8:00 am to reserve a dining time for that evening.

We also had lines to get into the Princess Theater for evening shows. You must arrive 30 minutes before the show to get a good seat. The shows were excellent and well worth the wait.

The Panama Canal partial transit was so much fun. We also booked the Full Transit on the ferry through Princess. Long day but very interesting. Lunch on the ferry was good.

Great cruise on a very nice ship!

  4. We just returned from our cruise on the Island Princess. Shortly before our departure we received an email telling us of the delayed departure due to Norovirus on the current cruise. They told of delayed boarding.

Our experience was very positive. We arrived at 12:30 and walked right into the terminal in Fort Lauderdale. Filled out our healthy passenger form and checked in. No lines.

We could not get into our state room until after 3. No problem, they let us head upstairs for lunch.

Our stateroom attendant explained that the cleaning process after norovirus is very detailed. I brought my own cleaning wipes and did my own cabin cleaning.

They required hand sanitizer use before entering the dining room and buffet area. No salt or pepper shakers on the tables.

Half way into our cruise they told us they were going to do another deep cleaning and told us to remove all personal items from the counters in our state rooms.

I never heard anyone mention norovirus symptoms.

Once the salt and pepper shakers returned to the tables I know we were all safe.

I think Princess did a fantastic job of cleaning the ship and keeping us healthy.

It is very helpful to let passengers know of any health issues.

Hand washing is priority for a well ship.

    Good job Princess !!

  5. We did Cartagena on our own. Very easy

Got off the ship early. We walked off at 7:00

take the free shuttle from the ship to the Terminal building.

    do not visit it now.

We teamed up with another couple and shared a taxi from the terminal building directly to the Old Walled UNESCO city. Paid $15 for the 4 of us in a brand new small van. We told them "Centro" and were dropped off at the Clock Tower.

Not many people out this early. Great time for photos and it is still relatively cooler.

Entered the Walled city and walked first to Plaza Bolivar for photos. Then we walked out to the Old city walls and continued walking on the walls near the ocean to the northside of the old town. This is where the vendor craft sale area is located. You can see the Old Fort in the distance. We did not go here as it was already getting hot.

You can visit the Fort for $10 US cash per person.

Instead we continued exploring the city by walking thru the streets. Stopping at different Plazas.

Returning to Bolivar Plaza. Free wifi is available for 30 minutes if you register your email address. it worked great. You can get a photo taken with the lady who has a fruit basket on her head $1.

We then went inside the Palace of the Inquisition. They did not charge us anything and offered clean free bathrooms.

Next we visited the Museum del Oro the Gold Museum. It was also free.

Air Conditioning is available at both locations in a few rooms take advantage of it.

The humidity is horrible and I was so glad we started our day early.

Fruit vendors are on the street. Lots of things to look at. we never felt unsafe.

Do not carry much money or flashy cameras.

We got a taxi back to the ship from the Clock Tower area. Tell the driver Barco (ship) they are all over and easy to find.

Paid $10 for two of us but he gave us a tour on the way back to the ship. Pointing out interesting places along the way. We saw a wedding party exiting a church. The old fort up on the hill. Pretty old homes. donkey carts.

Once you return to the terminal take advantage of the free and fun Aviary and mini zoo. Great photos of parrots, flamingos, iguanas. This place is so much fun.

You can go inside the large cages and get great pictures of the birds.

We had toucans fly up to us and pick at our shoe laces.

Walk into the emerald mine exhibit, cool and interesting. The gift shop is also nice.

Take the free shuttle bus back to the ship.

Great day in Cartagena. Go early in the day. It does get very humid and hot.

  6. We just returned from our cruise and want to share some information for a great and cheap day trip from Limon.

You need to have a sense of adventure, but the payoff is fantastic.

My husband and I walked off the Island Princess at 7:30 and quickly went through the vendor building to exit the port. Turn left and walk about 8 minutes along this main street to the MEPE bus terminal. This is the local bus company. Go up to the ticket window and purchase a ticket from Limon to Cahuita using US $$$. Give them $6 and you will get two one way tickets and change given back in colones.

We got on the 8:00 bus on a Sunday morning. The bus is not air conditioned but the windows open and you will be fine. It is safe and you will spend time with the locals. The bus stops along the way to drop off and pick up other passengers. You take the road that follows the coast line. it also passes the Sloth Sanctuary.

At 9:00 we pulled into the small Cahuita bus station. Exit the station and walk to the right along the road about 5 minutes into the tiny town. Very safe. You are heading to Kelly Creek entrance for the National Park. There is no entrance fee, but they do accept donations. You can get a guide here. There is also bathrooms and ooutdoor cold showers. You find the beginning of the level walking trail here. Passing swim beach and campsites, picnic tables. It was a Sunday so there were families out enjoying the day together.

The path is very easy to follow and you can find wildlife all over. Just walk slowly and listen. We did not have a guide. Groups of monkeys in the trees. Leaf cutter ants, a snake sleeping on a branch. A park ranger pointed out a sloth sleeping in the tree. Shore birds. No problem with mosquitos or other biting insects.

We stopped and swam in the calm warm ocean. Fantastic.

You come to a place where you must cross a small river, the water is knee deep.

Continue along the path to the Point. We met another park ranger here more picnic tables. Great photo opps with the ocean and palm trees. Walk past the point another 10 minutes and then turn around and walk back.

Monkeys came down to see us. Wonderful photos.

Took a cool fresh water shower before we walked back to the bus station.

The 1:30 bus left at 1:40 and was crowded. Returned to Limon at 3:00.

We spent a total of $11 for the two of us. Very safe, amazing wildlife. Great plants and trees. No bugs. fantastic day.

  7. We have enjoyed many wonderful cruises to the Caribbean. Have done the Southern, Eastern and Western cruises.

Thinking about trying something different and heading to the Mexican Riviera in November.

Princess offers stops at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.

Living on the east coast transportation will be easier and less expensive.

Should we stick to the Caribbean or try the Mexican Riviera.

We love beaches and swimming. Not into the party scene.

    Please help me decide Thanks

  8. We visited Sandcastles last week. It was great. We walked from the ship, just turn right and walk along the paved path. Go past the park and it will be on the right. Very easy, no traffic and very safe. Saw iguanas on our walk.

The beach was wonderful. Not crowded.

I did find some sea glass and a few shells. There are some rocks and I wore my water shoes.

Free wifi, outdoor fresh water shower, small but very nice pool. Did not purchase food, but the bar was fine.

friendly women at the entrance took our $ 5 each for a chair. No need for an umbrella, we had the shade of trees.

    Wonderful day in St Croix!!
