Sorry for the delay in posting the rest of the dailies. It was a busy end to the week and I'm out of town this weekend. I'll post the rest on Monday.

First time doing the upload I don't think I've done it right. Will work on correcting it.

I'm finally catching up after being on our European adventure of almost 3 weeks. I'm uploading the cruise overview and will follow with the daily programs. I've not seen these posted for a river cruise before, and it'll let you see the activity options each day, which on Ama were all included.

Nope, I have not figured anything out yet.. I was looking at Windstar and another River Cruise and of course possibly
an Ocean Cruise.....so many choices:D
We're looking at Christmas markets Nov/Dec 2018. I can keep you posted if you're interested.

Wow what an amazing week! Our first river cruise and it definitely won't be our last. There was so much to do every day that we feel in need of another week just to recharge haha. No rest for the weary, we're in France doing land now for another week.
I have the daily schedules which I'll post when we get home, with highlights of the week. There's multiple tour options daily for all activity levels - something for everyone. We took the bicycle tour in Rotterdam and regret not doing it in other cities earlier in the cruise.
Fantastic, attentive service from everyone - we were definitely spoiled. A shout out to Capt Ron, Ewe our cruise manager, Vladymer and Josip our waiters, Petar, Marius, and Robert who kept our glasses full (we joked we only had 1 glass of wine each meal as they never let them get below 1/3 full), Aurel our Chief Purser, Nadia who kept our room spotless, and Imola who entertained us all week with her outstanding keyboard skills.
More to come after we return to the States on Apr 21.

Did you mean Serafina's on the water?? If so one of my favorite restaurants in Ft Lauderdale. Definitely off the beaten path.

Find a qualified TA for a few reasons. 1st is you'll receive perks you won't get booking direct - my most recent is a $400 OBC which would have been $0 if I booked directly with the cruise line. 2nd is you're supporting a small business owner (if an independent agent) - to me this is really important, it's supporting our economy.

We took our 3 kids, we shared a taxi van with 2 other coulee and spent the day on the beach there. Ordered food & drinks thru the day from a server from 1 of the restaurants who walked the beach all day, even provided a few umbrellas for the sun sensitive. The taxi driver came back at agreed time to bring us back to the ship. An excellent day!

Nice cabin but for $200 more for both you can get Aqua class, smaller balcony but Blu & spa privileges are more worth it to us

We're on Barbados now and did the island tour yesterday. The 4 hour 1/2 day tour turned out to be 7 hours. We weren't in a rush and neither was the guide. A relaxing but long day.

We're local in Ft Lauderdale and thinking of jumping on next Friday for a quick getaway. It'd be great if it open next weekend, we'd be one of the first to experience the changes.

I haven't seen the tours yet but will check that out

I was looking at the detailed itinerary today and saw that on some days the port time is only 2-3 hours. Is that because you get off on a tour and get back on in the next port a short distance away??
-
Lois you're now my eyes & ears! Please do share when you get back. We're a group of 10 and growing and of course everyone is looking to my wife & me to be the tour conductors haha

2017 cruises just opened up and today we booked Amaprima for 4/6, our first river cruise. I've been reading a lot here on the boards so I've captured many good suggestions. If anything immediately comes to mind from anyone, don't hold back throw it out here - I'm a sponge and am keen to learn all I can to ensure we have a fantastic time!

Just returned from the 6/5 southbound, we really liked the Radiance we now prefer the mid-size ships vs the mega liners - they're much more intimate. Amy the cruise director was fantastic, always something going on to attend or participate in. Here's some answers to your questions:
1. Are there any activities or live music on the pool deck? I didn't notice a single one scheduled in the Compasses except for movies on the big screen.
It was too cold outside, only in the low 50's for the high during the week we were on. A lot of music inside in the Centrum, Colony Club, and Schooner Bar.
2. Does the cabin tv system include pay-per-view and if so are they fairly recent releases?
I don't recall, there's a movie theater and we went there to see a movie.
3. What, if any, dining venue is open 24 hrs.? (Thinking here of something like Cafe Promenade.).
No food available 24 hrs that I recall, coffee is available though.
4. What, if any, activities or music is scheduled for the Viking Crown? Again I didn't see one single reference to it.
Every night after 10pm there was music and dancing.
5. What are the facilities in the Thermal Spa like and is there a fee? If so, can one purchase either by the day or a week-long pass?
Yes, they sold 30 passes for the week it was pretty nice there. Go on the spa tour and enter the raffle on the first day. My sister won $100 towards signature spa treatment. We all had the Travelers Tension special for $109 if booked on the 1st day (we had ours on Day 2). Hot stone massage, facial, scalp/neck/shoulders massage, and feet/ankles massage. It was fantastic, a great way to rid the stress for the rest of the trip.
6. Does the Radiance sell a "Behind the Scenes" tour of any kind and if so, what day is it on?
Yes, it's $150

Here's another reason to come in at least a day early. Just flew out of Vancouver after a 2 nite post cruise stay. What a fantastic city we wished we had another 2 days to explore!

We are traveling with 2 other couples we all booked Aqua on Summit. Any issue with us getting a table for 6 in Blu? It's the first time in Aqua for all of us.

What pier does the Summit dock at? We booked a room at OSJ Sheraton but are thinking maybe Hyatt House if ship docks at Pan American pier.

Yes we did the 4pm tour in December. You don't go to the fort, you walk a circular route from the old courthouse, up the hill to the left, and up and down a number of streets back by the SJ "whitehouse" before ending at the Old Brewery. We stopped at 5 places to sample drinks and have small bites of local foods. We were STUFFED by the time it ended. The mufongo was fantastic.

We went in December, when we got off the ferry there were no vans waiting they can't pick you up at the ferry terminal. Walk out to the right and go a few blocks to the parking garage on the right that's where the taxi vans are.
FYI Don Q store closed in Old San Juan, we were bummed we liked stopping in for a free taste.

Check out Carli's Fine Bistro. Had drinks and apps and were very good, going back for dinner next time in San Juan.

We just booked Sheraton Old San Juan for our October cruise, it's right in front of the cruise ship docks. $197 for junior suite, $247 after taxes. A bit over our $200 budget too, but will save the difference on taxis going back a forth a few times.

We took Flavors of San Juan old San Juan food tour in December, it was fantastic. The guide had a great personality and made the tour really fun and interesting. I highly recommend it.

Just Back AmaPrima Tulip Time Apr 6-13
in River Cruising

Here are the remaining dailies, enjoy!
I forget if I previously mentioned it . . . each time you come back onboard from touring, Ama staff welcomes you with a hearty "Welcome Home"! What a great feeling it was to hear that every day. :)
In this weekend's mail was an Ama postcard from Uwe our Cruise Manager, thanking us for traveling with them. What an awesome attention to detail, a small touch to reinforce what a great brand Ama is. Last week we booked again, Christmas Markets 2018. I don't even want to think about how many days away THAT is! haha
