    We absolutely loved this cruise.

The sail out of Sydney was very special!

We did a trip to Kuranda & the scenic railway tour was lovely, very interesting. (Booked with Celebrity)

We stayed in a beautiful hotel in Bali whilst the ship was docked overnight (Bali Tropic)

Nice to get off the ship & swim in a quiet pool 😉

Talking of Bali, I think we were the first ship to dock and it was a bit of a joke (see pictures)

The staff were all lined up & very excited for our arrival.

We made it off the ship....eventually 😃

Solstice IMO was an excellent ship, we really enjoyed everything about it.

Highlight for us was a day trip organised through a wonderful lady on our roll call to the Whitsunday Islands

Booked with Red Cat Adventures who were excellent!

A very special, enjoyable memory for us.

I would love to visit Australia again but the flight from Scotland was just too long.

We finished with a few night's in Singapore

Singapore Sling in Raffles Long Bar is a must.

What a fabulous place Singapore is.

Enjoy if you decide to book!

Thank you so much for all your helpful information. I am so glad you enjoyed the cruise. We have cruised on the Solstice 5 times and love her “proper” balconies.
The cruise we are considering is 13 nights and there is no overnight stop in Bali. Is there much to do within walking distance of the Port of Benoa?
What would say was the average age group on board? Were there many children?

Again, many thanks for your help.

I was considering taking something like this which would be easy to get on a plane without additional fees.

We'd considered those inflatable loungers as well as I believe you don't need a pump to inflate them.  The ones we looked at only weigh 600 gm, so easily transported.

Just wondered though, if we'd get a knock on the door from security, (apparently there's security cameras onto the balconies), as I guess they could be a liability if the wind caught them and they blew overboard. You probably wouldn't be able to leave them unattended.

Here’s the menu — it says sodas, juices, bottled waters

Would they make any of those cocktails as “mocktails” for those who want a nonalcoholic version?

When/if you are writing to management to complain about this, could you PLEASE also mention foot stools.  Same ridiculous excuse.  And when you couple that with the incredibly uncomfortable chairs they have put on their balconies it really ruins what used to be one of our favorite parts of cruising.  Thank you

We wrote to the Executive office and had a call back the next day. Again, safety issues were cited as the reason with no further explanation. I then asked could she tell the powers that be, that if loungers are removed, could we have more comfortable seating. Even the reclining chairs and footstools we had on the Solstice Aqua balcony would be better than those horrible upright chairs they offer now.

  5. Hi, I have just seen I can get a premium, wifi package for 30% off.  With my 30% Captain's Club Elite discount, I thought that was a good deal.  When I rang to make the purchase, I was told I can't have both discounts. Have I been advised correctly, as on our last sailing we were given the special rate that was advertised online, ALONG with our Captains Club discount.  Do they now cap the discount you can get for certain packages?

First time sailing with X in 7 years......I have a suite and you can be sure if there is not a lounger on my balcony I will be telling them/asking them to please put one out there.

It’s the first time we’ve been able to book the much coveted sunset veranda on Edge. We would be most disappointed if we were denied at least one lounger as this was one of the main reasons we booked this room.
Hoping Celebrity will see sense in this matter.

We’re on Beyond (center SV) April 2024- no loungers. We don’t have them and the SVs on either side of us don’t have them. I asked immediately and was told no “we don’t”. It wasn’t an issue of a tip because I was not given the chance to tip before the idea was shut down. One year ago, same ship, we had them without needing to ask.

MY theory is that having loungers on SV keeps people satisfied without needing to upgrade to a suite. It definitely dampened the benefit of an SV for us since the tiny chairs are impossible to get comfortable in for more than just a quick look around. (Napping, reading, sunning was not nearly as lovely as it was for us last year with the loungers.) It may have backfired though bc the more they take away things we enjoyed, the less likely i am to spend MORE money the next time. It may be back to land vacays.

Does anyone know if this applies to the Celebrity Edge SV staterooms. Looking at booking one but if there are no loungers now, it certainly takes the gloss off it.

Was this an aft or forward cabin?  I have a sunset veranda booked on Beyond soon…hoping for the best.  Have a porthole cabin booked on Ascent but not until 2026…refundable deposit…if these reports continue I’ll cancel that cruise and stick to only M and S Classes on Celebrity.  Sigh.

We were the first cabin forward, on Deck 8, 8111 on Edge.  There were the usual creaks when the sailing was smooth but as the seas got rougher, the banging and loud creaking began.

Plenty of room on the balcony IMHO.  This was the pics before we had the room steward bring a lounger to the balcony.

As for the noises, never heard them in either 11270 or 11271

Thank you so much for the photos.  Was this 11271 on Edge?

We’ve done 11270 and 11271 on the Edge and both rooms were excellent and quiet .

As someone mentioned, the SV’s are quite a walk to the elevators but we liked that aspect (privacy and getting in steps)

Hi, we have the option of 11271 on Edge.  Could you please tell me, was there much room on the balcony for any recliners?  Someone mentioned 11273 was very noisy with the cabin making all sorts of noises.  As this cabin is next door to 11273, did it make these noises as well?

    Many thanks for your help.

  11. We have some missing Captain's Club points and have been trying to contact Captain's Club to claim what we are owed.  As we are from New Zealand we are directed to the Australian office.  We go through to the dedicated CC line but are told by the operators that to contact CC we have to send an email.  We have sent two off now but after a long wait haven't even had any acknowledgement.  Our travel agent also tried  a couple of times but has had no success.  As a last resort, we even wrote a letter to Guest Services on the Edge, (the ship we had been on), and when it came into port in our home town, we asked a passenger if they would deliver it for us.  We had hoped they could do something from their end.  Still, no joy.

I am now looking at ringing the Captain's Club in the USA directly to see if I have any success.  I have found this number on the website 1-844-418-6824

Due to the different time zones, I have been trying to work out the best time to ring.  What state is this number for so I can calculate the time accurately?  Or do you think it is outsourced to another country?

    Many thanks for your help.

  12. In hindsight, I think it would have been a good idea to get something in writing even though Guest Relations were rather surprised when we mentioned it to them as well as our room attendant. Now it is their word against ours as we try to get the points due to us. I did say this to the Celebrity consultant on the phone and he said they do have ways of finding out if we had elected to go on program. Guess we’ll see if he was correct.

  13. We were on a cruise about five weeks ago. As soon as we met our room attendant, we mentioned we would like to participate in the Go Green program. To make sure we were enrolled, we even went to guest services that first evening to make our request known. The guy told us it wasn’t necessary to tell them but to make sure he rang through to the relevant department to confirm.
Since returning home, we have been awarded our 30 points, (10nights x3), but there is no sign of the extra 3.  Normally, wouldn’t be too bothered but we are sitting at 297 points so the extra three will take us to Elite for our next sailing. Have emailed CC but no response yet.

  14. Thank you so much. I managed to find the current sailing and checked out the daily schedule. Four nights there is either an acoustic performer or solo guitarist. One night a silent disco and one night the house band. There are no performers  listed for four nights. Would you assume that would just be background music?

     Thanks.
