  1. Dining reservations are open for my 10/12/2014 Allure cruise, however, I also have been having nothing but trouble with the reservation process. After spending much time picking out times and trying to reserve with others sailing with us, I get a message that pretty much says "while you were trying to plan your vacation, the website went on the vacation". This has been going on since it opened last Friday. I also noticed that the dining packages like the Chef's Table Package or the Central Park Dinner Package can't be reserved online. No Rita's Fiesta either. They have made a mess of this new website...very sad!!

  2. Interesting. I just checked on an upcoming 3 night on the Enchantment and this is the message I got.

Online sales for Alcohol Packages are currently not available for your sailing. If your cruise vacation begins more than two months from today, please visit the website closer to your sail date. Please note that certain itineraries preclude online sales, but all packages can be purchased onboard ships for sailing's with 4 or more nights.

Mine said the same thing and didn't find out until we were onboard and ordering a drink at the bar. Good luck!!

  3. I know people who walk on a cruise ship with it in Florida(no flights involved) and smoke all of it and leave the ship without it. Now with the vaporizers, the smell is almost undetectable. I'm now advocating it, but people do it all the time and as long as they aren't stupid enough to try to get it on board in a foreign port or return to the US with it...they have no problem!!

  4. Concierge Lounge Free drinks: Wine, beer, Champagne, various cocktails (not all), Soda, Etc

Diamond Lounge: Free soda, beer, house wine, and basic mixed drinks in Diamond Lounge during nightly cocktail hours

Free soda and house wine in Nightly Diamond Event. (All other drinks 25% off.)

On Oasis, and if there are enough Diamonds on board, they will usually move the nightly cocktail hour to the Blaze nightclub on deck 4.

Not sure how they handle the prices then after they move it (I am usually in the CL.)

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but what is the difference between the Diamond Lounge and the Nightly Diamond Event??

  5. Thank you for the wonderful review! Having been on the Allure last year, and going on the Oasis in 40 days, your review was marvelous.

I believe you mentioned that you, or some in your party had received dinner voucners from your TA...? We will receive them for our up coming cruise and wondered howyou redeem them on the ship and where do you make reservations, for say CHops? We are used to paing for specialty restaurants with advanced booking...its all new.

Secondly, how did you feel about the premium package? Iam not a drinker, but my husband is interested and we wondered if it is really worth it. Do they limit the frequency of what you order? Can he get a bottle of water and a drink to sit by the pool, or only one swipe per swipe of the card.

    Thank you in advance.

    Wendi

    Hi Wendi,

I've actually seen and given out dinner vouchers, they do exist!! The ones I've given out were a promotion from Royal Caribbean. After the final payment was made, Royal Caribbean sent me, the agent, an email with the voucher attached that I forwarded to the client. It had certain restrictions as far as cost and restaurants where it could be used. You had to make the reservation once on the ship and you can just go directly to the restaurant you want to use it. Just show them the voucher at the time of the reservation!!

We had the alcohol package back in October 2013. At the time, we were limited by the price of the drink up to $12 I believe. If the price was more than that, we had to pay the difference, there were a few things that were not included like Red Bull and drinks that were in special glasses. At that time, it did not come with the soda or water, so I can't really comment on that. I did notice that the only water they had for purchase was Evian. Specialty coffees were not included either although I could use the package to buy coffees that had alcohol... like an Irish Coffee or Coffee with Baileys...so it didn't quite make sense that I couldn't order a latte after dinner and not have that included. I guess that's why they made the changes!! Both my husband and I bought the package because those were the rules at the time. I understand that now they don't make all the passengers in the same cabin purchase the package, so your husband could buy it and you wouldn't have to. But to answer your question, we had no problem making the package worth it for us!!

Whatever you decide, have a great time, the ship is amazing!!

  6. I am talking about the central park VIEW, window cabins, not the balcony. The windows right above the Coach store.

There is a difference between walking around naked and having a balcony right outside your cabin that people can peek in. KWIM?

Yes, that is a public balcony that you can step out on. However, I'm not certain if they could lean over and look into your window. I have stayed in a Central Park View cabin on Deck 9 and while I enjoyed the cabin, there were privacy issues as well. Keep your curtains closed if you don't want to be seen!!!

  7. It still amazes me the rudeness that some people show on these boards...Did you really have to post this?? And so what if the OP did know.....Who really cares? Seriously who cares?????? Just ignore and move on with the next thread....

I so agree with you JetsFan. Sometimes these boards can get downright nasty for no apparent reason. I just don't get it!!

  8. I'd drop Samba Grill and go 150 Central Park instead. If you do choose 150 Central Park, check the menus once on board (they have 2 set menus, 1 for the first few days and then it changes for the remainder of the cruise). We preferred the 2nd menu.

I totally agree with this post. Go to 150 Park. We bought the Chefs Table package which included Chefs Table, 150 Park and Chops! Loved them all and would book it again!!

  9. The pics will show back up when the OP's account renews. Photobucket is very expensive for bandwidth when you do not have a free account. I used to use Photobucket until they skyrocketed their prices last year.

The more popular a review, and the more pictures posted, the more money it costs to keep them online. Each page view transmits lots of MB for each pic.

Doing reviews is not only a lot of work but can be expensive too! :)

I was able to open the pictures with no problem!

  10. Power strips are not allowed. But sort of like other smuggled items, many bring them.

I was recently invited to the naughty room and noticed many power strips on the table. Along with full size irons??

Get one of these: It's what us and many other cruisers use for power strips. Also the power plug rotates 360 degrees for adapting to all the different cabin outlets.

Power strips are not allowed, but this is? Or is this now allowed either? How is this different? Thanks in advance!

  11. I apologize in advance if this question has been asked. If it has, please let me know the number on the post so I can refer to it! I want to do the zip line. Do you have to have a reservation for it? How often is it open? I could never do the zipline at Labadee.. but the one on the Oasis looks pretty cool!!

Thanks for the awesome review! We are counting down and only have 3 more months!:D

You don't need a reservation, you just go, sign the release and get in line, sometimes there's no line at all. You need sock and shoes. Can't remember all the times but if you look at the Cruise Compasses that are posted you might be able to find the times that's its open. It seems like it was open quite a bit!

  12. It was then off to the Globe & Atlas for one last night with all the new friends. James the singer/guitarist in the pub played ALICE for us 2 times. We got everyone up and people walking in the Promenade stopped to watch/listen to us.

If you're on Oasis in the next couple weeks ask James to play Alice. Don't forget to tip him, he likes that, haha

Oh noooooo!! This means the cruise and the review are almost over....boooooo!!!!

  13. I don't know about that... when I lurked around your roll call to see if there were any hints to the gnome I saw the link to the Youtube video about Alice. So I watched and listened to the messed up song about Alice. Didn't she get picked up at the pier in a limo? I have a strange feeling that James Brown will laugh in my face as he remember the crazy8s.

Poor Alice....it may be messed up but it sure gets the crowd going!!! Ask James to play it, you'll see what we're talking about it!
