  1. The first time I visited Bermuda was a land trip. I stayed in a resort right on the water with several reefs readily available right off the beach. I went out snorkeling and while I was enjoying the view, a fish - Sargent Major, I believe - came up and bit me on the thigh hard enough to notice and hurt. My mother refused to believe that a wild fish would just randomly bite a human. Until we took a guided snorkeling trip with the resort. The guide tucked bread into the legs of our shorty wetsuits so we could feed the fish on the trip. The resort has taught the fish in that area that humans carry food strapped to their thighs; it was no wonder at all that I'd been bitten.

  2. Nespresso appears to be a product line made by Delonghi.

I have a full size (no pods) Delonghi espresso machine at home. Makes a darn fine latte, although my cappuccinos are hit or miss depending on how well I manage to turn milk into foam. [emoji4]

I'm looking forward to giving the pods a try.

  3. We don't get to cruise all that often. There are simply not enough vacation days in life and way too many other obligations on the ones we have.

The one upside to that is when we do cruise we can enjoy a suite. We're going to Alaska for our honeymoon next June. I'm just too excited; it will be our first real vacation since we got engaged almost two years ago.

  4. We had one of these bath's on our first cruise. The bath was lovely and the cold drink that went along with it very nice, but doing it on the first night of our cruise was a bit much for my fiance, who requires a bit of easing into his vacations.

The butler took care of the bath on both ends, so I have no idea what happened to the rose petals. :)

  5. My first time in Bermuda we went April vacation. The weather was lovely and the water warm. Or so we thought, being New Englanders and all.

On our way back to the airport we were chatting with our taxi driver and he encouraged us to return to Bermuda later in the summer so we could enjoy the ocean. Apparently the locals don't go in the water before Memorial Day.

We'd been snorkeling all week. [emoji28]

  6. For each file in Dropbox, you should have the ability to create a link. Share that URL and anyone can access a read only version of your file. Or at least that's how Dropbox claims it works.

Google drive has the same functionality which I've had luck with in the past.

  7. My first cruise was a 3night on the ncl Sky. We had a penthouse suite (9202 - I think) that I'm pretty sure would fit 5, as there was a couch, the main beds and a second bedroom with at least one bed and maybe a pull-down. (We used it as a closet and dressing room. Super Lux, I know.)

We didn't notice a real party vibe, but we also kept ourselves really busy and utilized the suite-perks to get away from the crowds.

I hope you have a great first family sail.

  8. One thing I noticed on the Breakaway was that all the public spaces seemed about 2" too narrow. You couldn't pass someone in the stateroom hallways without one of you turning sideways a bit. If not, shoulders would have rubbed. I felt the same way in the atrium and some of the restaurants.

It wasn't super noticeable (I'm in design, so these things stand out to me) because many of us unconsciously make purse smaller to give others space everyday - think squeezing yourself into a seat on the subway so you don't touch the person next to you.

Still people become stressed when they are repeatedly squeezed and I noticed that stress manifesting in short tempers when crowds formed. Everyone seemed just a bit not happy.

It's too bad they choose to use a design that adds to stress and tension instead of one that fosters relaxation, but people equals money, and money is why ncl (and every other company) is in business.

  9. I've had the butler unpack us, both on ncl and at land based resorts that offered the service. It has worked wonderfully for us, and I really enjoy being able to put my feet up and enjoy my welcome beverage knowing the next time i have to do chores is laundry when I get home.
