  1. I can't speak for the OP, but we have had to rent a car. Enterprise is the only company that lets you drop off the day of, but if sailing on a Sunday, they are closed. You have to drop keys off in a box and call a taxi to get to the ship. Also, only one Enterprise hub allows one way rental out of Houston Hobby. (Haven't flown into Houston International/Bush yet so I don't know their set up.)

Last time I used Hotwire and booked a car for much cheaper (almost half) what I was being quoted elsewhere online. We booked our parking reservation online- cheaper, you know where are gonna park, etc. We used Dolphin parking wirh little issues. This time we are trying out Galveston Park and Cruise since they are walking distance from the ship.

There are also hotels that offer a parking/shuttle package. We booked this cruise last minute (six weeks out), and hotels were way too expensive for our taste. Cheaper to rent a car and park it than staying in Galveston. However, if you book well enough in advance, shouldn't be an issue. I booked a hotel in Alvin this time (using Hotwire again) to save $.

I called Enterprise and because I am going over a holiday weekend they said that no one way car rentals. She said there was a Enterprise about 12 miles away. So I thought well ok lets do that. Once I hung up I checked and the rental in Webster Tx is about 30 miles away. So I guess its back to using super shuttle.

  2. I might be going to Key West on Carnival in Aug. I was looking at buying tickets ahead of time for the hop on hop off tour. Is there a stop by where the ships docks. My sister can not walk far so this tour would be great if there is a stop not far from the pier. Also should I buy the tickets ahead of time or can I buy them when we get off the ship?

  3. I am going on Carnival Miracle in Nov 2014 my passport expires Feb 2015. I have asked a few people and they say because I am just doing Mexico I will be fine. Then I was reading today that the passport has to be good for 6 months after travel. You guys are the experts so tell you what you think.

  4. Here are a couple of photos from the balcony of 6232. Note that is a full twin mattress my buddy dragged out there to sleep on .

6232 that my cabin when I sail on her in Nov. Thanks for the photo's I have looked and looked for photos of that cabin and yours are the 1st I have seen. Do you have any of the inside the cabin? Any noise from the outside hallway?

  5. The best of those types of rooms are the ones between lifeboats, so that you can get a little bit of a view. I can't tell if this one is between lifeboats, or if the one next to it is. There are some that I know are between lifeboats: 4132, 4133, 4140, 4141, 4148, & 4149. We were in 4130, because we were a party of 3, and we could only see the lifeboat & a thick beam.

Thank you. I ended up booking her in 4140 but now not sure if she will end up going on the cruise with us.

It had to be booked as ES and we don't know if she is positive if she can go or not and we don't want to put the money out just in case she has to cancel. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens

  6. My sister just won a free cruise on Norwegian. Have not sailed on Norwegian since the early 90's. I know a lot has changed over the years. One of the biggest is Freestyle Dining. Is that the only dining or do they have set times as well. She is not the biggest fan of freestyle dining so I told her that I would check and find out but hey what the heck its a free cruise I would gladly take her place.

  7. I will be going on the Miracle next Nov 15. For day 3 it says we get to Coabo at 9:30 and leave at 6pm and day 4 arrive at Cabo at 7 and leave at for so does it really leave the port and then do some sailing at night then redock the next day?
