The BVI is world renowned for sailing. Typically there is always wind and the waters are relatively calm because of all the islands, and the swimming/snorkeling is great. Do a small group charter off the ship, you won't regret it.

In my opinion, nothing. I've been on 50+ cruises and hundreds of ports and Tortola rates near the bottom of the list. It's almost like Nassau, hardly worth getting off the ship.
Obviously you have never been sailing in the BVI which is by far the best in the Caribbean. SMH

Filet with peppercorn sauce is quite good. And I second the mushroom soup. Coq au Vin was decent, not great. My friend enjoyed the escargot and other seafood dishes.

Cruise Next certs are good for several years and can be used as a deposit on any cruise you like booked through anyone. Sometimes they allow more than one cert to be redeemed at once.

Paradise Beach in Cozumel has a nice beach and a great pool. Quick cab ride from the pier and they only ask for a small admission fee and a minimum spend per person on food and drink. Tasty Mexican food.

I've heard stories of people being on cruises with a big charter of bikers or swinging seniors. It could have been worse, much worse.

Los Lobos was very enjoyable. Didn't use any of my SDP meals on it though. Just paid a la carte. $20 will feed an army.

Halal "humane"!! I think not.
As said above, the meat will likely be taken on locally. However I doubt you will be able to find out what kind of farm it came from. Often meat in Europe is not free range, same as the US.
And kosher is more humane?

I think you can request kosher or halal meat way in advance. Those slaughtering practices have humane rules in place.

Humane? Not so much.

Yikes their website is a mess. I tried to log in and the site says it doesn't recognize me. So then I try to register and it then states that there is an account already associated with my email. But when I try to update my password it says that there is no account with that email. Wow. Buggy doesn't even begin to describe it. And the search engine hangs when you try to search itineraries. Not good.

I just sailed the Escape. Thought it was a great ship. Food, drink and entertainment were top notch. We had a fantastic time.
I happen to agree with the OP about port times.
I happen to think NCL leaves St. Thomas way too early, especially when Tortola is literally a hop skip and a jump away. St. Thomas makes no sense.
Tortola was another stop that I believed left WAY too early.
We knew the port times ahead of time, and were fine with it. However, I was just left shaking my head as to WHY? Why leave so early?
I agree. Was on Escape in Feb and enjoyed the cruise but the itinerary is lacking. We had someone who fell ill and they rushed to St. Thomas starting on the second sea day and it just proved that the extra sea day is really not necessary. The cruise could easily have added an extra port day and a longer stay in Tortola.

The only thing I tend to agree about, is the flow.
The Escape needs a third row of elevators for that size of ship, and when walking a deck it's sometimes true you have to do a return.
That drives me nuts about a ship more than anything else.
All the large NCL ships suffer from that. Neither Epic or any of the other Breakaway class ships have mid ship elevators.

A little surprising as Celebrity pulled a ship from Europe for this season. It may mean some good deals in the Med.

I found this mentioned in another post so I did a little research and filled out the online form and got the email two days later. My platinum status on NCL was matched with MSC Voyagers Club Black status. Some decent perks. I may never sail MSC but who knows?

Bluetooth speaker to enjoy some music in your cabin getting ready etc. or just relaxing on the balcony. Over the door set of hooks for towels, swimsuits etc. from the dollar store. Travel size container of laundry detergent.

Escape has Bayamo and it was the best meal we had in specialty dining all week. Google it for the menu. Delicious.

It was amazing how a few bucks spread around here and there with the bartenders helped with service even when the bars were busy on my recent cruise on Escape.

Enjoying the review! I'm disheartened to hear that the smoke smell is so bad on the Escape. The stink is something that bothers my entire family, and I'm considering whether to ditch this cruise or not. On a scale of 1-10, how bad is the smoke situation on decks 6-7-8, and how often to you find yourself having to go through there? If I can avoid smokers, I'll do it; but if it's a constant walk through a disgusting area, no way.
I was on Escape in late February and didn't notice it at all.

Changing specialty reservations on board Dawn
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
Can also be done on the app or your stateroom TV. They reserve some dining for reservations made on embarkation so space shouldn't be an issue. Only 30% of capacity is made available 90 days out from sailing.
