  1. Hello! First time cruiser here =) I first wanted to thank everyone who posts reviews and details about their cruises. Reading the message boards helped answer my 101 questions about Carnival =)

Although all my Carnival Imagination questions are answered , I just have a question about Ensenada.

Do I need to book a tour? Can I just walk from the boat to explore the town? I will be traveling with two toddlers, just curious how easy it is explore town? Any recommendations besides the Blow Hole? TIA!

They have shuttle busses that go into town for about 3.00 round trip. There isn't really much to do in town except bars and shopping. Not sure what you would do with toddlers. The blow hole trip is offered, but when I was there it was not active. They also have lots of stalls for shopping at the blow hole area. Sorry I am not of much help. When I first saw your post title I was going to suggest the winery tour, but obviously with kids not a great idea. Hope someone else has better options. Have a great time.

  2. You would need to contact your travel agent. Carnival will not talk to you since you booked with a T.A. Free upgrades don't seem to be that common anymore. I once had a 6A guarantee on a ship that only had those oceanviews on one deck (spirit class). I was upgraded to a really nice unobstructed balcony. That was back in 2007. If you want to pay for the upgrade that won't be a problem. It just depends what price they are going for now.

  3. So I was browsing and came across a place to click to see what restaurants are complimentary. When you click complimentary it highlights the free restaurants. I also clicked on specialty dining. The Local comes up shaded on both the complimentary and the speciality. I really hope it is free because I like O'Sheehan's for breakfast and the description is the same as O'Sheehan's.

  4. Thanks for your reply on the UK site it comes up as unavailable when I tried to find a wifi package.

I don't drink beers or spirits or soda so I think cheers package is not really for me. I thought I had read on here about a prepaid coffee card but maybe I'm confused with another cruise line.

Princess has a coffee punch card. That might be what you're thinkig about.

  5. We bought 4 of these a couple of years ago when our adult daughter and a niece went with us.

It's funny people saying they are expensive on the ship. I bought one for $5.00 on Princess. The ones in your link were $5.92. Just wanted to let people know. The ones in your link are really cute. I have my Princess one and one I got on Carnival when I did the behind the fun tour. I am surprised they are $8.00 on Carnival.

  6. I was playing let it ride poker on the Carnival Elation and the first 3 cards were all diamonds, so I let it ride and two more diamonds came up I was also playing the pair plus bet. My only problem was I had the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Nine. I missed the royal flush by one card. It would have paid about $17,500. I think I won about $750.00 so still a nice win but what a disappointment. I now only play slots as I don't have any extra cash to play let it ride. I did well on Norwegian last October winning $100.00 several times on a 2 cent slot for 50 cents a bet. I actually came home with more cash than I left with on that cruise. I was able to purchase all my souvenirs in port with cash.

  7. People at the port don't always know what's going on either. I checked in with my friend, we were in the same cabin. I was platinum she was gold, the rep told me I could board early but she had to wait as she wasn't platinum. I informed him, no we are in the same cabin. He found another rep who confirmed that I was correct. I wish all the people would be trained correctly either on the phone lines or at the port.

  8. Last time on Carnival they had penny slots that had 20 cent minimums. I played a 2 cent machine on Norwegian for 50 cents a pull and won $100 at least 3 times and $80 and $60 a couple of times. I hope my luck holds on my upcoming Carnival cruise.
