  1. I didn't hear a fire emeorgency-- I did hear alpha or a medical emergency on deck 6 around 8 pm. Is that the one you're referring to? We were in Giovanni's at the time.

We heard it also. We had an eventful cruise with all the emergencies! Hope you had fun as we had a great time. Did you make the Meet And Mingle? We went 15 mi s late and people were already leaving. Never have had that happen before

  2. We're on the Oasis now. The tels us the video clearly shows this guy jumped from deck 5. His family left the ship in Cozumel to meet him in the hospital.

It's been an interesting cruise. A near drowning and a return to Port Everglades, a helicopter evacuation from Labadee an now a guy jumps overboard.

Good luck to all of those affected by these incidents.

We were on this cruise too. Had know idea about this! The only weird thing that happened to my husband and myself is that we were walking on deck 5 when it was raining yesterday and we saw a bright flash right in front of and then a loud bang! Scared us to death to think we were that close to a lightening strike!

  3. Thanks for posting this. We are boarding Oasis today and am def. going to see it . I have seen it many yrs. ago and forgot what it was about. Hope my family enjoys it as much as I know I will as I have enjoyed all the broadway shows I have ever seen on board a ship or on actual Broadway.

  4. We will be sailing Oasis Jan 3rd with the same ports. In Jamaica we will a Catamaran sail and snorkel booked thr. The ship. We did this before and it was a lot of fun and doesn't take up the whole day, so hope to make it to Doctor Cave beach or Margaritaville too, if time permits. We have done the falls and river tubing before in Jamaica but I think it is a long ride fr. Falmouth. We docked in Ocho Rios before, I believe. In Cozumel we will prob. Just take a cab to Chankanaab ,as we have done before, and either snorkel or do the dolphin experience for the first time. We have done Jeep tour which includes cave exploring and swimming and beach time before and had a great time but the water in the cave was cold and we were in the dark a little too long. In Labadee we will just rent mats and float, swim and lay on the beach. We did the zip line before and while it was a cool experience it took up a lot of time and money for a short thrill. Just can't wait to get on that awesome ship again!

  5. Sailing on Oasis in Jan and booked our party on decks 11 and 12, one ocean view balcony and two are CP balconies, all are mid ship. Allure and Oasis have a similar layout. I will try to post back here and let you know. I have sailed 13 times and prefer the higher decks as we use the stairs a lot and spend most of our time on the upper decks esp. durning the day. Never had any probs before. I have read to avoid deck 14 due to noise from the active higher decks. We had a boardwalk balcony before and loved it but had also read about the noise there but didn't notice it , prob. Bc we were on deck 12. Had a room on one ship that was across from a utility closet and heard noises all night the night before disembarkation. So I try to look out and avoid those areas.

  6. We are doing the Catamaran tour booked through the ship, which is at Cornwall beach. Was wondering if we could just walk to Dr. Cave beach afterwards and take a taxi back to the ship on our own , and if so , how much it would cost for 6 ppl? We will be docked in Falmouth. Also, how far is Margaritaville from the port and I understand there is a beach called Biggs, which is close to Margaritaville . Anyone been there? If so, is there an admission charge, can you rent chairs?

  7. We did the Catamaran snorkel tour ,booked through the ship ,a few yrs ago and booked it again this time when we dock in Falmouth this Jan. I was wondering if anyone knew how far Cornwall beach is fr Doctor's Cove beach and if we could easily get a cab to take us there and back to the ship

  8. Docking in Falmouth on our Western Carib Oasis cruise in Jan. Booked the catamaran tour which is 4 hrs. Hoping to go to Red Stripe Beach on our own via taxi or Margaritaville since we will have 2 to 3 hrs. Left after returning fr. Our excursion. Any one have an opinion on if we will have enough time?

  9. We loved the shows and recommend you book them early to get the times you want. We had a boardwalk balcony and loved it but missed the full view ocean , so will get an ocean view balcony on our Oasis cruise this Jan. We had great food in the the Park Cafe and the Solarium Cafe and they weren't nearly as crowded as the Windjammer, esp on embarkation day

  10. My one son (21yo)is Diamond but the other (25)is still Emerald(if that is the one before Diamond). They have both sailed on the exact same cruises. My husband and I are Diamond and have sailed a few times without the boys. I want to call C&A to check on the difference but am afraid they have mistakenly given my younger son Diamond and may downgrade him if I bring it to their attention. Does any have any experience with?

  11. Loved your review! We are going on Oasis for the 2nd time in Jan. We also don't sweat the small stuff and this will be our 12th RC cruise and have always loved them. We have done one Carnival and one Princess cruise and RC is so much better, in our opinion. Our adult kids will be joining us with their girlfriends and none of them have been on an Oasis class ship yet, so extra excited to see what they think.

  12. We use to book for the itinerary ,mostly , but after going on Oasis and doing the Eastern, Western many times and Southern Carib and Bermuda each once, we tried Oasis and loved it so much we are going on her again in Jan. The Southern Carib was wonderful but we did experience some pretty rough seas as with Bermuda. We hardly felt any movement on Oasis and the shows were awesome. My DH gets sea sick easily and will take meds to help but then feels tired often. Oasis seems like it is the best fit for us now. I still want to take a cruise to Europe one day though
