  1. Our first cruise was Sovereign of the Seas in Marsh 1996. Eastern Carib. 7 night, inside cabin. I believe it cost about $1000 per person total including airfare, booked thr RC. Our best priced cruise was booked a few weeks after 9-11-01. I got a 4 night Bahamas , in .Jan. 2002, inside room for 4 (2 were young kids)cruise on Sovereign of the Seas for $200 pp, no airfare. I can't remember if the kids were cheaper.

  2. I have 2 rooms booked on the Oasis for Jan 3rd sailing. I booked those bc I really wanted adjoining cabins so I thought I should grab those while I could. I still need to book another room, interior for 2 ppl. The prices are remaining high as I have been watching them for months now. Does anyone know if the prices tend to go down closer to sailing on the bigger ships? I think they would in general due to having more cabins to fill

  3. Me I set the alarm for 4.30am quick change then up to the pool deck and after a quick look around I put 4 towels each on 4 loungers even through there are only two of us so after using up the 16 towels on the best chairs I then head back to my cabin and back to bed.

At 9.30am I get up AGAIN and head down to the main dining room where I complain about everything until I get a offer of a free bottle of wine at diner.

Then back to the room for a 60 min rest before we head down to the front desk to complain about kids running around the ship last night at 8.30pm after I get a offer of a free meal at Chops I then head to the shops for free testers of after shave, I then have to quickly head up to the windjammer for my 1st lunch and then after a hour rest and head to the promenade café for a top up.

It's now 3.30pm I need to get up to MY LOUNGERS on to pool deck to get some rays.

After a rest we head down to the show where our friends have saved us 6 seats.

    I love RCCL

    . Lol! Best response ever!
  4. We have cruised before on another cruise line and have always been able to request a private table for two in the MDR. This will be our first cruise on RCI on the Navigator of the Seas in October. Can anyone tell me if there is someone I can contact about this request? Thanks for any advice! Sorry if this is a repeat post as I posted this question earlier today and it never showed up.

I have done this on our last 5 or so cruises. They put you close to other couple tables and it is so nice because you can talk to others close to you but don't have to feel you carry on a conversation the whole time. I asked at the time of our booking. I book through RC via the phone and have only had a problem not getting it once. It was only a three night cruise and we were placed at a table for 6 but there was never more than one other couple there , so we didn't change it. I was told we could have had it changed and I believe the head waiter of the dining room could have made the change

  5. I am hoping and praying that we can exercise the self-control needed to wait and book the Oasis or Allure at last-minute prices in late January or February. Booking is so much fun, and it is hard to wait for those deals. We always get carried away and book before we had planned.

What do you consider last minute? I have never booked within 3 months of a cruise but wondering if I wait longer if I would get a better price on a jan? Oasis cruise

  6. No good deal for us. I booked 2 adjoining Central Park cabins for Oasis of the Seas for Jan 2015 a few months ago ,even though I thought the prices were high because I wanted specific cabins. I need to book another cabin , probably inside, and keep waiting for prices to drop. We need to go the beg. of Jan due to my son and friend's college break schedule. Otherwise, I noticed the same cruise in other months is a lot cheaper.

  7. We have been out of NJ once , in May, to Bermuda. It was a little cool a few days. Didn't get to enjoy the pool and being outside on the ship as much as other cruises. Although, not having to fly is a big plus for me. We love the Oasis class of ships , so I imagine the Quantum will be just as great if not better. We like the Caribbean better than the Bahamas and it is usually warmer too. It would def. be a hard decision. Good luck!

  8. We went on the Oasis for the first time last Jan. It was by far the smoothest sailing we have done out of our 14 cruises. We have done 1Carnival, 1Princess and 12 RC. All of which have been to the Caribbean, Bahamas or Bermuda. My husband is prone to sea sickness and esp. Loved the Oasis since it was so smooth. We will sail her again this Jan again.

  9. Like Oasis much better than Jewel but also like the Eastern Carib ports much better. Sometimes we choose a cruise due to the ship and other times the ports. If taking kids I would go with the Oasis. We love cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale and have done it many times but cruised out of San Juan only once and didn't really care for it. We did Oasis cruise last Jan and are taking our adult children on it this Jan.

  10. Love both but I agree Oasis has more to offer and the entertainment was awesome. We went on the Oasis last Jan. and going again this Jan. The only thing I missed on Oasis is having an outside balcony. It is just too expensive for us to justify on the Oasis but we get one on all the other ships. The inside balcony over the boardwalk was good and this time we will have one over Central Park

  11. Sorry for your experience. We have sailed Carnival once and had such a bad experience ,for several reasons ,we will not sail with them again. We have also done a Princess cruise which was nice but we have had such great experiences on RC we have decided to be loyal to Royal and stick with them from now on.

  12. I agree pre book all shows. We were on Oasis in Jan. And i saw ppl being turned away at all shows after they had been waiting in line to get in. We didn't try any specialty restaurants. The food was great! Windjammer was better than usual and we loved park Cafe and the cafe in the Solarium.

  13. We use to get an inside cabin for many yrs. but now always go for the balcony. We cruised on Oasis last Jan. And had a boardwalk balcony , since the outsides were too expensive and loved it! We will cruise again on the Oasis this Jan. And get a Central Park balcony. But I would go more often and get an inside if given the choice. We just can't go that often due to work.

  14. Have fun! As long as it doesn't bother others, act as funny , crazy or silly as you want as you will probably never see the people on the ship again. Meet new people and ask questions ,even if they seem stupid, to get info. We have met so many interesting people and have fun talking with our servers in the dining room. We never do anytime dining bc we enjoy getting to know our servers and have had great service and tip them well.
