  1. Boarded the Conquest on Sunday - itinerary St. Marten, St Kitt, San Juan and Grand Turks -

it has been a very nice cruise - food is good - balcony cabin nice, ship full. It is Tuesday, morning and we just found out the there is another storm, ERIKA, that is threatening the islands we are suppose to visit. The captain came on the to let us know that they are making a decision on this afternoon if we will change itinerary. We are have some cloudy skies and some rough seas - probably from the end of Danny. I will be very surprised if we do not change - the question is where will be go? Also to let everyone know the WIFI package is great. Will update later.

Do you know who the captain is?

  2. P.S. Go Sox!!

Even though it doesn't go to Devil's Bridge, it's still a pretty good value compared to the ship excursions. I'm sure it will be great! One week to go!

  3. Yes you would just get a one way rental back from Port Canaveral and drop off at Orlando airport. The car rental companies have shuttles to pick you up at the port. I used Budget but all the major rental companies have locations very close to the port. I had an afternoon flight out of Orlando and got back with plenty of time to spare.

    Have a nice cruise [emoji4]

  4. I agree with the above comments. I took a cruise out of Port Canaveral a few years ago. I flew into Orlando, had a one-way rental through Budget, stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton at Cocoa Beach. As I recall, the rates were fairly reasonable, the location was pretty central, right next to the Ron Jon Surf Shop and there was a restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel. Within walking distance to the beach. The next morning, we dropped our car off at Budget which is on the road leading to Port Canaveral, and we took their shuttle over to the port.

After the cruise, we originally were not going to rent a car as we had an excursion booked through the cruise line that provided airport transportation, but then we ended up not going on the excursion due to missing luggage, and we called Budget and they had plenty of cars available, so we hopped on the Budget shuttle and drove back to the Orlando airport. Much more cost effective than renting a car for the whole time that you are on the cruise.

    Hope this helps!

  5. We are trying to find tours that don't include a beach option. Can you tell me about your itinerary. Since we will be there early November, probably wouldn't have time to read your review first before making a booking.

Any advice you can provide would be most appreciated. Have emailed Scenic Tours in the meantime.

    Sandy :)

The island experience tour without the beach is 33/person. It's 4-4.5 hours, the one with the beach is 6.5 hours.

This says what the itinerary of the consists of: http://scenictoursantigua.com/v2/online-bookings/tour/island-experience/

It seems to hit all the major hot spots and it does include the entrance fee to Nelson's Dockyard National Park so you don't have to pay any extra. My cruise is from Sept. 5-12 so I'll try to write about my excursion shortly after that.

  6. Has anyone booked a tour through Scenic Tours of Antigua? We sail on the Carnival Conquest in September, and were considering the Island Experience tour without the beach excursion. I am a little worried because on their website, it says the tour is 6.5 hours and I want to make sure I get back to the ship on time.

If someone has a different tour company they have been on, that would be welcome as well.

    Thanks!
