  1. If you're assigned to the Aqua Class dining room and don't want to eat there, be sure to make arrangements for your gratuity to be transferred, you shouldn't just go to the ding room without making sure there will be room for you and that its ok with the Main Dining room management, the best way to do this is to talk to the Blu staff first

I think Blu is one of the best perks of AQ. They are not open for lunch, only breakfast and dinner so you can always eat in the MDR for lunch. Once again, you can have your BLU waiter bring you anything you want from MDR.

  2. We have sailed 2x with X out of the 2 cruises we've taken. We have no desire to switch to another line. We're also sailing to Alaska in a month. We have always booked AQ, we love Blu restaurant. The food is "lighter", less heavy sauces. There is no set dining time and no formal nights. We love that the most. The first cruise to the Caribbean, my spouse wore shorts almost every night.

If you sail AQ, Blu is your restaurant. If you don't want to eat there, you don't have to, and you can order whatever you want from the MDR. I always get the shrimp cocktail and french onion soup.

  3. Thank you, I appreciate the quote. All that I could find when booking was this:

when the page opens, please click on ; "qualify for special offers",

when that page opens, it only shows for the military - active and retired.

We've taken 3 cruises on X, and I checked the military rate and the police rate since my spouse is both retired military and an active duty police officer. We've never received any discount. Is that because we went under other promotions?

  4. The answer is yes but there may be different ways the ship works this out. First step is to speak with the maitre d' in Blu. He will check re: where there is room for you. MDR dining has 3 choices and each is capacity controlled: Select, early Traditional and late Traditional. Select makes the most sense, but if it is very popular on your cruise, you may be asked to arrive at a certain time and then be added to a table in one of the traditional seatings.

You can also order WHATEVER you want from the MDR and they will bring it up to Blu. I always get shrimp cocktail or french onion soup. In the morning, I ask for grits( which are not available in Blu).

  5. We have sailed on Celebrity Century and will be on the Solstice to Alaska in Aug. We are booked in an aqua class cabin so I would be interested in more of your feedback. Last time on Celebrity we were in a regular balcony cabin. Usually sail RCL but I have also been on NCL.

We really love AQ. My best gay male friend told me about it, he said it wasn't that much more expensive than a balcony and you got a lot more. We took our first cruise in AQ and its now hard to pick another class. We loved dining in Blue whenever we wanted, we loved sitting with just each other, loved not having to dress up. Loved the bigger room we got, loved the amenities, LOVED the Persian garden.

  6. I haven't seen too many folks on this thread posting about sailing with Celebrity (in contrast to the gay guys, who love the line). My spouse and I have really enjoyed our two Celebrity cruises, and have our third with them coming up later this year. Where are the lesbians who love Celebrity? :)

We love Celebrity. We're taking our 2nd cruise in March and we've only sailed Celebrity. We really like the aqua class. We love Blu restaurant too. We're sailing March 31st to Cozumel and Key West. Can't wait.

  7. Hi,

I'm Randi and I live w/my partner Julie in Socal. We're taking our first cruise out of Ft. Laud on March 17th( celebrity Silhouttte). We've booked the aqua class and are really excited. I've been looking at the regular roll call for that cruise and was glad to see a couple of gay couples( didnt see any lesbians though). I wonder if we'll be the minority. What is your experience on Hetero cruises when you hold your partner's hand or kiss? We are affectionate with each other and I would hate to have someone say anything. Although, if they did, I'd totally speak back( I'm an attorney and Julie is a cop). What about showing PDA in the towns? We're going to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Marteen.
