  1. I bring my own pillow from home just in case. I buy the compression bags, put my pillow in and let out all the air. It's only a fraction of an inch thick and takes hardly any room in my luggage and when I take it out of the bag it pops up to normal. Haven't had a neck ache since.

  2. I just called Celebrity to ask what the problem is with the Summit. She read me the letter they have received. It said the April 8th is cancelled and part of the 15th. Not guaranteed the ship will be fixed by those dates but have not made any changes past those two cruises. She said the thing that the Summit is in drydock for is " the thing that makes the boat to faster!!!!!" Yikes, I hope the people repairing the ship know how to order the specific " make the boat go faster parts". Hope for everyone booked that this is quickly resolved.

  3. Traveled in a RS on Summit. Chip is the head Butler and he is amazing. Last trip we had Kim and she was perfection. I mentioned that I loved the Almond croissants and then each morning she would deliver fresh, warm croissants to our suite. Ask for Kim or Chip. We had read several recommendations on here for Dominic. We were not thrilled with him. Maybe he was just "off" on our cruise but he was a disappointment.

  4. We travel in a RS on the Summit to Bermuda every year. We have 2 teenage boys. One sleeps on the sofa bed and I have the Butler get us a rollaway bed for the other boy. Room is plenty big for four. We are always out at the pool or spa pool area. You are in Bermuda 3 days to get off the ship and explore. There are shows at night, bars and a casino. They will probably make friends. You can all eat together every meal at the suite restaurant, Luminae. It is wonderful. All the other specialty restaurants are also complimentary for you. ALL of the restaurants will have tables for four. The Butler will arrange all reservations.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the RS on Summit. Have a great sailing!

  5. I always book the first day I get onboard so I have the best cabin selection and all the perks fir booking onboard . I have a Celebrity contact here that I use for all my bookings. He tells me to just book onboard regardless of price to get all the onboard perks. Then when I get home he takes the reservation and tweaks it and gets me the best deal. I keep an eye on pricing going forward until final payment and he will always adjust pricing or perks for me up to the final payment. Used same Celebrity agent for Six years and have never not gotten a great deal. I would call and obtain an agent now so you're ready when you get home. I would tell you my agent's name but I don't think cruise critic allows me to post it here. Good luck and Happy sailing

  6. Does anyone know or has anyone seen the Summit inviting guests to sail away on the Helipad THIS YEAR? I called Captain's Club and asked and the shoreside concierge and they said that it is not done and one rep said she had never heard of it. Yet, I have read about people being invited to it here on CC. We are leaving for Betmuda out of Bayonne this Sunday!!! Thanks so much

  7. Sailing in RS on the Summit May 29. I made a small list of requests and called Captain's Club last week and they connected me with my shoreside concierge. She was great, took all my information and assured me it would all be taken care of by the time we board. I'm sure there may be a few issues they might be missed but at least I think I expressed the important things. I was most interested in making dining arrangements for Specialty dining since I have read of some reports that if they waited too long they could not get the nights they wanted. She asked me what alcohol I wanted for my two selections, mixers, sodas, pillows, extra blankets , ETC. My list was not too demanding I hope.

Why wait and become concerned?? Just call and be assured that your concerns/requests are addressed. She was just great. Can't wait to sail !!

  8. Received luggage tags today for May 29 cruise. Call Captain's Club just last Friday. Fast service. There are three of us in the cabin but received 3 for me, 3 for my son but only 2 for my nephew? Are you limited to 8 pieces of luggage per cabin or can I call and order more? I like to slap them on everything just in case. Thanks!!!

  9. I have been following the Summit dry dock improvements on Instagram at

Captainkatemccue. She is the Summit Captain and the photos are great. We are sailing May 29th and can't wait to see the upgrades. They show the solarium pool and she assures us it is only be refinishing and will be back, bubbles and all, better than ever

  10. "I will be on the Summit right after the drydock 3/12. full ship charter. I am in an oceanview cabin on 2 deck so will not know about suite improvments. I just hope that any engine room problems have been fixed right. dont want any problems on this cruise. I presume that Summit is docking in Freeport. Dont know about this shipyard (quality of work) so I guess well just see."

Was there something wrong with the engine room on the Summit that I didn't hear about that you are worried about??
